Isabel PearlDelicious, healthy and interestingFood at Isabel is reliably delicious, with options for many dining tastes/restrictions. Many vegetarian options. Can be a little noisy. Have had a memorably tasty meal every visit, and look forward to going back!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA Good ChoiceWe were pleasantly surprised with this little gem of a restaurant. Our server really knew the menu & was able to make good recommendations for us to choose something we would like. The food was good quality & beautifully plated. The restaurant was clean and had a good location to watch the street with the floor to ceiling windows on a corner spot.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting mix of Latin andInteresting mix of Latin and Asian flavors. Loved the ahi platter! Excellent service.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMI will be backThe food was amazing! I tried (forget what the name was) a blueberry jalapeno drink that was awesome too. Our waitstaff was chill and very informative. They seemed to genuinely care about their customers. The restaurant was clean and had a spacious feeling even though it was fairly small. I love sitting next to windows and they have lots of window seating (three walls of window). I've recommended this spot to everyone I've had a real conversation with since our visit. My only criticism is that the only appetizer with plantains also included meat. A little heavy for an appetizer when adding it to an entree. I love plantains and wish there were a second option without meat that included them.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe'll Be BackFirst time visit for birthday celebration. First impression only fair - there's not much signage outside and the inside could use a good scrub . However, surprise, surprise - the service was great and the food was excellent - especially the fresh Sea Bass special.
We'll go back for sure.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time!Delicious and healthy food. Wine selection wasn't amazing, but the service was excellent.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper healthy options.....Super healthy options..... The food was delicious and the space was inviting!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious. Wholesome & AffordableA friend and I were passing through PDX on a short roadtrip. My fave restaurant was booked out so we tried Isabel Pearl instead. Some things just work out for the best as this place was a REAL GEM. They get the basics spot on: Delicious, wholesome and affordable (not "cheap" - but a terrific value for under $20 per person for dinner). Additional bonuses: Apparently they grow much of their own produce on a local organic-method farm nearby; One side of the building's glass walls tip out to offer the feeling of outdoor dining without being entirely exposed; The menu items are culinary creations - interesting (in a good way) - and all at this price. We were impressed, and I would definitely go here again next time I was in PDX.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMService and friendliness wereService and friendliness were great. Food was exceptional. One minor hit forgreens mixed with broccoli which were very bland.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMIsabel has a fairly diverseIsabel has a fairly diverse menu and all of our party enjoyed their food. It is not too noisy so conversation around the table is ok.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMIsabel serves delicious andIsabel serves delicious and wholesome food with genuinely friendly and helpful service.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant was bustling. The restaurant was bustling. Good spot to pop in for lunch or a bite after work. There was a unique combination of flavors in the Brazilian bowl...adding coconut rice to the beans and rice combo. Our favorite, though was the pork carnitas, with just the right amount of crispy bits wrapped in corn tortillas. We did feel like the prices were a bit high for the food.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and waitstaff were terrific.Food and waitstaff were terrific. Carpets need to be cleaned or replaced.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough we went in the winter,Although we went in the winter, we could see that the walls of glass can open up for a totally outdoor experience. The food here was AMAZING. I got the Salmon and my husband got the Steak--both were very tasty, perfect texture, not overcooked, fresh vegetables and a creative twist of coconut rice and fried bananas, respectively, as the starch--super tasty! We would definitely go again.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
