Diner Reviews
  • "Isa is a beautiful little hipster restaurant. Certainly overpriced, but the drinks were creative and great. Food was good and edible and all that -- could have been bigger portions for brunch. Overall, tasty and fun for an occasional brunch."

  • "A total food haven. Great atmosphere. Fabulous interesting food and wonderful service. What more could one want and prices were reasonable. Fabulous"

  • "This place was a really nice find. I live nearby and managed to get a reservation only 2 days in advance, even though they don't take many reservations. Everything we had was delicious - the roasted chicken, the meatballs, the bread. I highly recommend the charred cauliflower - it was great! I know they change their menu frequently, but I believe the meatballs and cauliflower are often there, so have some, since they're yummy."

  • "Don't sacrifice quality just because you have to bring your kids. Great brunch. Very kid friendly. Also love that you can make a rez for brunch."

  • "Food was out of this world yummy - they really know how to blend herbs well - and decor was romantic and cozy, too."

  • "Love t his place. the staff are so friendly. The food is good and fresh. I have two things that i wish could be improved. I always feel rushed to leave once I'm finished. I know it gets crowded both at brunch and dinners, but I never feel happy when being rushed to leave. Of course I'm being made to feel "time to leave" with a smile, but still, it doesn't feel neighborhood nor gratious nor cool. Noise level sometimes uncomfortable. so loud."

  • "Caught up with a friend of mine over brunch at Isa. It was my first visit here despite living around the corner. Definitely glad we tried it. I had trouble choosing just one dish from the brunch menu because so many dishes appealed to me. Also glad we booked a table as it was nearly full. The wood burning fire makes for a cozy atmosphere and the service was beyond helpful. I will definitely be going back soon!"

  • "The food is mediocre. If you can cook decently, you will not be impressed by any means. I had chicken which I never order because I figure I can cook pretty good chicken. It was Ok, but oily, and just laying on some brussel sprouts that had been cut in half, and half cooked--still hard, and no seasoning / flavor, just oil. I was bummed because I heard that this place was great but I guess that was the case when it first opened but then changed ownership and now it is what it is. In a sea of choices and options, I would not bother with this place--nothing special."

  • "Isa-- we went there with 5 people, 2/4 meals were terrible and 2 were just OK, only one was good. At the end of the meal we told the maitre D 2 of the meals were terrible ( the pasta carbonara was so salty it was inedible) and they did not take either off the bill. I would never go there again or recommend."

  • "Vibe and ambience were nice and my dinner was good (I loved the kale salad, but I was not too crazy about my pasta dish, which had too much melted goat cheese, but that was my fault). However, I will come back to try other dishes."

  • "I dined here recently with my boyfriend. We both loved the rustic decor and the smell wood burning stove. Perfect for a date night or dinner with a few friends."

  • "i've heard a lot of hype about this restaurant and it didn't quite live up to it. it is incredibly noisy which made the experience somewhat unpleasant. there seemed to be an upstairs area so perhaps it is quieter up there. the food was decent, nothing special, and definitely not inexpensive. once again, i can name several manhattan restaurants in a similar or even cheaper price range that far surpass the quality of food and ambiance of this restaurant. i would consider going back during the week when i may not have to overhear multiple conversations while i eat my meal."

  • "Practically pitch black restaurant, terrible drinks, mediocre food. I am a huge fan of Freemans (which is why I tried Isa), so this is SO disappointing."

  • "- Isa's dishes were good, but there was a common theme of inaccurate descriptions of dishes which leads itself to a confused and disappointing dining experience. - Isa's menus must change frequently. So if you see a dish on their online menus, don't count on it being offered when you dine at Isa. - Prosciutto balls - Lacking sufficient prosciutto. So though the flavors in these balls were good, it was an overall disappointment because there wasn’t much prosciutto in them. - Italian cheese cake - Though this was a good cheese cake, naming it "Italian" was a misnomer. Isa's cheesecake had key-lime type of consistency and flavor."

  • "Our family of four went to Isa for Saturday brunch. A completely unexpected treat was a craft room upstairs that was hosted by...someone...I guess I'm not really sure if she was an employee, or a volunteer, or there on contract, or what. It was a really nice surprise though. Kids and adults alike are invited to participate. The restaurant design is top notch as I'm sure you've read. The staff was friendly and the food was very good. We were out of town visitors and this was one of the best meals of the trip."

  • "We live in the area and absolutely adore the vibe and staff at Isa. The food is delicious and delivers consistently. The Isa team is friendly, laid back, and helpful. Outdoor seating and a cozy inside seating (fireplace!) make Isa an all-weather spot for brunch or dinner!"
