The art of cooking with wood enhances the Ironwood Tavern's experience with bold flavors simply not found with alternative cooking methods. Chef incorporates the seasonal offerings such as beef, pork, poultry, seafood and fresh produce from small local farms and purveyors for our cuisine. Craft beer is our focus and our passion. All of our 24 craft beers on draft reflect a personal vision. Our craft beer list is different, intriguing, and constantly evolving, like the world of craft beer itself. A menu that features styles from all over the world, but is predominantly American and local in focus.

  • Great meal and time for family.

They were very attentive for our event. After I placed the online reservation for 18, they called to inquire if I had any small children or individuals who might need special seating arrangements (high chairs, etc.). The seating area for our family was very well arranged. The food came out promptly and accurately. The selections were good and the food came out hot and at the same time for all people. I especially thought the pork chops were very good as was the Iron Flank steak. The desserts were also very good. Overall the place and meal was a hit with my family. This is especially good to note since it was on Mother's Day and good service was not lacking. Prices were also reasonable as expected.

Went for brunch after Easter mass, and the service was good but the food very run of the mill. We ordered blueberry pancakes and got blackberry pancakes. Waitress told us they had no blueberries even though it specifically said blueberry on the menu. The French toast was midlands. Etc. Overall, disappointing for an Easter branch. Maybe we were expecting too much.

We selected this resturant foe our Valentine dinner. The food and the service was great. However, the ambience was not appropriate for Valentine's Day. There should have been more of a romantic atomsphere and setting for the occasion. They could have dressed up the place to set the mood of the day. Next year the owner should spend a couple of dollars to reflect a more romantic mood.

We never go out on Valentine's Day because many places have a fixed menu and the prices are usually much higher. We tried Ironwood Tavern- and it was great! In addition to some specials( which I must admit were tempting ), they had the regular menu available. Three of us tried the specials and they were great. This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that is several steps above " tavern" offerings with an amazing beer selection- which would be one of the many great reasons for trying the restaurant. We had a lovely Valentine's Day meal !

This was our first visit. We were surprised by it's location and outside appearance - but we quickly got over our apprehension once we sat down. Excellent service - the menu and specials had some great choices - our server guided us through the menu and recommended some great choices. The food was very good except for the drier than normal garlic mash potatoes - good flavor just dry. Hope to make a return visit in the near future. My only recommendation - the maitre de and the manager at the front door need to wear more presentable/welcoming attire. Jeans, an un-tucked polo shirt, and other winter garb - don't make a very good first impression no matter what the weather is outside. This can be easily fixed.

We visited Ironwood Tavern for Christmas Eve. We had a large group and were seated in a private area which was perfect! The food was excellent and the service was very good. All the wait staff was very pleasant and attended to our needs. The only negative is the actual building this restaurant is in. I think for the quality of food it should be in a building similar to a restaurant you'd find in Village of Leesburg. This building looked like one step up from an old IHop. Would go again for the food though...

Nine of us had dinner at Ironwood Tavern. The staff was kind enough to give us our own room, really an alcove, in the corner which worked out well. Everyone enjoyed their food; the service was very attentive and the server even offered us separate checks if we wanted them. The atmosphere is of a casual sports bar. All in all a very nice experience for this out of town crowd.

We walked in and said to each other, this looks like a Denny's. We thought about what used to be in that spot and realized it was a Denny's. They painted and changed the colors of the booths, but it still looks and feels like a Denny's. It was quiet and the service was fast, but that was because there were only 5 parties. They had an entertainer that started as we were leaving. He was fine. The food was nothing special or even particularly good. My husband's burger was dripping with grease. My salad had no flavor, but the veggies were at least fresh. It's a bit expensive for families and for the atmosphere.

Heading out of town and tried the Ironwood Tavern for the first time. Noisy Friday night bar scene with a full house, for many good reasons. The service was very friendly and chatty. Beer selection was excellent. We filled up on the delicious honey butter and corn bread even before our delicious meal. Tried the signature Ironwood Stew which was full of homemade goodness and a better than average salmon salad.

The restaurant service was great. The ambience was lacking and food was fine. It wasn't anything I would go out of my way to get to, but if I'm in the neighborhood and looking for a decent meal at a good price I'd eat there again. I had the steak and eggs for brunch. The prime rib was supposed to be medium, but it was almost well done and dry. The eggs and fruit were great.

    OpenTable Diner Since 2007
    Dined on 5/12/2013
We chose this place online, not knowing exactly the location, but were looking for a mother's day place in Leesburg, and they had an a-la-cart option, which I prefer. It's located in a parking lot of a shopping center, not exactly the ambiance hoped for, but we went ahead. Indoors it's kind of like a big warehouse. The waitress was nice and attentive, and offered us a complementary champagne. Food was good, I got eggs Benedict, three eggs on biscuit instead english muffin. My two companions got the steak and crabcake special, and both were pleased. For a coffee refill, instead of refilling my cup, I got a whole new coffee cup, which seemed wasteful. Overall it was a nice brunch with the food making up for the blah atmosphere.

My husband and I went to the Easter Sunday brunch. The hostess led us to our table, but did not inform us that a server would take our drink order and did not direct us to go to the buffet table. Overall, the food selection was good. The scrambled eggs were a bit well done. Instead of having thick slices of ham on a serving dish, I think that a carving station for Virginia ham would have been better.

They have the second best beer selection in Leesburg and great food. It always seems busy for happy hour. We like it because there is a good selection and price range of food. It's busy- but the wait is never as long as other places because it is a bigger restaurant. If you have a group of friends for dinner or the bar, they can accomodate larger groups.
