A word from Iron Works Tavern
The Iron Works Tavern is located in a beautifully restored 1800's brick building that once served as the offices for the Rhode Island Malleable Iron Works. The Iron Works Tavern menu selections including locally harvested seafood as well as fresh seasonal vegetables and imaginatively created pasta dishes. Our hand cut prime steaks are cooked on our wood-fire grill and served with a variety of house sauces to compliment every palate.

Listen to live entertainment every Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights. All wines by the glass from our extensive list are half price everyday from 11:30am - 6:00pm. We also feature an extensive beer list, “Tavern- Tini” and Bar Bites menu from 3-6pm daily, which make this the perfect spot for after work cocktails.

  • "I was so dissapointed as I loved the interior of this restaurant and the service was wonderful; however, I ordered the special, pulled beef short ribs with spinach fettuccine. I found about six cubed pieces of beef (not pulled) and it was completely tasteless. My husband had a burger, which he said was good, but the fries were loaded with salt. I thought it was expensive and I won't be returning. Wish they would step up their quality."

  • "Greeted promptly and seated upon arrival. Friendly service, then somewhat downhill from that point. Truffle fries were tasty yet soggy. Should have more of a crisp to them. Meatloaf was uninspiring without the hint of bacon as described. Seafood casserole was tasty according to my dinner partner yet was not according to my palate. Definitely room for improvement in the kitchen. Would give another try in the future."

This place is a gem with great service and suggestions from your waiter to try something new and not be disappointed. The restaurant manager constantly walks around and oversees everything.   • "This is the third time I've been to this restaurant where the food was not very good. My boyfriend ordered the seafood casserole and the scallops were not fresh. They had a bitter taste. Food that isn't fresh, especially seafood is unacceptable. I keep coming back because I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, but the food just isn't up to par. My advice is hire a new chef."

  • "Another enjoyable meal. The service and food continue to be very good. The seafood casserole was expertly cooked, with just the right amount of butter for flavor and moisture. The meatloaf was a rather large slice, the mash potatoes were perfect. The seasonal vegetables, carrots and string beans, were good but the string beans could have been cooked slightly longer. For starters the Asian Calamari was properly seasoned and a good variation from the usual RI style. The Chicken Asian Wraps had the perfect amount of Asian species. To finish off the meal we shared the Raspberry and Mango Sorbet, a perfect ending to a great meal."

  • "Soon after we sat down our waiter greeted us and knew we were both gluten-free. We were so happy that someone paid attention to our comments on Open Table! There were many good choices and a separate menu for those on a gluten -free diet. We both ordered seafood dishes and for my seafood casserole they left off the cracker crumbs and substituted other vegetables.It was absolutele delicious! My husband and I both agreed that it is a restaurant we will both come back to!"

  • "Even though Iron Works is located in the property for a neighboring hotel, the food's prices are fairly reasonable and the food quality is very good. There is everything from casual sandwiches to seafood to steaks on the menu. The atmosphere is like a brewery inside, with it's brick and copper. I'd say it's more adult in atmosphere though they'd welcome families/children. They have a nice assortment of custom cocktails, a decent selection of wines, and delicious appetizers and deserts."

  • "Did not realize it was "Restaurant Week" when, sort of last minute, we decided to go to Iron Works for dinner! Even busier, more bustling than ever at 6:15 PM yet the food was just as great as ever and service was friendly and very efficient. We (2 of us) did not feel at all rushed, enjoyed our tasty meals (everything I have had here has always been tasty), and were on our way home in just about one hour! Wide menu selection and prices very reasonable!"

  • "i have dinner here a few time when visiting RI . nice that it is attached to the Hilton Garden Inn they have a good menu nice specials during the week .. it can fill up during dinner hr and they now have an upstairs I will have to check that out next time suggest reservations it can get noisy because of the high ceilings and cement floors never a bad meal good steaks i like the short rib but it is only 1 rib could use 2-3 for that price .."

  • "We had a good meal last Saturday. Wine list somewhat limited but the beer selection was better and interesting. The menu was also quite eclectic and interesting which is good if you wish to try something new. It was rather loud for normal volume conversation, which was a negative for us. The bar looked inviting, but we didn't sit there. Plenty of parking in a historic building that has been restored with exposed old beams and brick......nice."

  • "This was my 3rd visit. The first time everything was excellent. The 2nd time the service was poor but the food was good. This visit was during Providence Restaurant week. The service was OK not great. The food portions were smaller due to the packaging for restaurant week with a fixed priced menu. The savings based on the menu prices was about $2 but the portions are smaller. It makes more sense to order from the regular menu. There are so many better reliable restaurants in the area so I doubt that I will ever return."

  • "We visited Iron Works for the first time 2 weeks ago and the food and service was fantastic. We decided to go back for a 2nd visit. The food was still great but our waiter was poor. The only good thing is that he did get the dinner order correct. We were never offered bread and all of the tables around us had bread and the table next to us had their bread refilled. Our drink glasses were empty and we were never asked if we wanted refills even when he brought our check. We saw the manager visiting other tables but he never stopped at our table. We are not in a rush to go back again."
