I have had many crabcakes over the years, but Iron Hill Riverfront are consistently the best! Hubby loved his burger with mushrooms, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Also, you will not find any better service anywhere. Requests are cheerfully and promptly taken care of. And Iron Hill is close to the new Penn Center IMAX Theater, Blue Rock Ballpark, Chase Center, and the Delaware Children's Museum. Visit these attractions, then stop by Iron Hill for lunch or dinner! The brewery is right on the river so if you eat more than you want, take a walk along the river to burn it off. It was busier than usual thanks to events going on in the nearby Chase Center and Blue Rocks ballgame, but the food and service were as great as it always is. The food was great, service was friendly, but extremely slow for them not being that busy. The waitress knew we were going to a movie after dining, after taking 2 1/2 hours to dine, and even when we told the waitress we were rushed and needed the check because the movie started in only a few minutes, she dropped the check off and took off before we could even pay. Had to chase her down to give payment. Our party ended having to sit seperately in the movie theater because most of the seats were already full. For a slow night at Iron Hill, this is unacceptable. Had heard that there was going to be a considerable wait even with reservations but our group of 8 got seated relatively quickly. Wide variety of items to choose from which satisfied a wide variety of tastes of all present.. Personally enjoyed the summer salad and vegetarian pizza. My father really enjoyed the chicken pot pie something you don't see too often. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The beer selection is very good and we enjoyed our selections. In case you missed the memo, this place brews its own stuff- though naturally you can still order the usual domestics and whatnot. Don't like beer? There's more than just booze here. While there is a sizable bar area, much of the restaurant is like any other so don't be afraid to take your kids and inlaws here. (They have a kids menu too) Just expect to pay a little above average for all this awesomeness; entrees range from $15-28 for the most part, though if you come for lunch you can do even better. There is everything from pizza and burgers to mussels and other seafood. Good-sized portions on appetizers - good for sharing, even if they don't say so. Burgers and steaks cooked as ordered - we like them medium-rare, and some restaurants think this just means vaguely pink! It is a little noisy, but the booths are big and deep, so that cuts down on noise. Beer variety is always good, with standards and seasonal choices. They do have a full bar and wine too. Not really for little kids, but we have taken ours there since they were in middle school and could behave reliably in a "grown-up restaurant". In summer, you can tie up your motorboat and come right in for a meal. The Delaware Children's Museum is two doors down, and the Blue Rocks ballpark, DuPont Nature Museum and Penn IMAX theater are a block away! The food is great, too, and ample.
