We booked 3 reservations for this restaurant to accommodate a large group. We then called the restaurant to let them know that is what we had done. They put us in a back room and really went above and beyond to let us all sit together. The service was amazing. The manager on duty checked on us and helped us with a potential issue. The food was SPECTACULAR. We had a variety of appetizers and entrees, and everyone raved. The beer selection was phenomenal. The Newark Nectar was the overall favorite of our party. Thank you for such a great night!

My wife had duck pot pie, and I had mussels. All very good. A great seasonal salad. All was great until we ordered dessert. We thought an apple crisp to share would be perfect. Alas, they had "enhanced" the recipe with Grand Mariner or some other off-setting orange flavor. It was not good, and unfortunately left a bad taste in my mouth. We will go back, but not for Apple crisp.

The beer is great and the best part is that if you don't know what you want, they bring you samples. The burger I got was awesome and the sweet potato fries were some of the best I've ever had. Hands down, best place to eat in Newark.

Always enjoy the food at one of the original Iron Hills. The service was very good even though they were packed for homecoming weekend and the food did not suffer. The homemade beer make this a nice place to visit on main street as well. Much better than the larger chains which have settled in. Try the soup! Love the Seafood chowder as well as the Mushroom. The takeout Pizza deal is also a great thing to have whether or not you are a college student. I graduated from UD in '06 and still love coming back here for a return meal.

I liked the lively feel of Iron Hill. The Calamari was fried just right, and the Meatloaf very tasty. Was able to try out the many varieties of beer, which are brewed on site. Only negative was had to wait 20 minutes for table even though we had a reservation.

This is our 5th time at Iron Hill Brewery. Daughter goes to the University of Delaware and every time we are visiting we always go there. Large menu so there's something for everyone. Love their Brussel sprouts (fried and salty but still very good) and calamari is very good. I appreciated that we were seated within ten minutes of our reservation time even on Parents Weekend. Always a good meal and very friendly efficient staff.

Our oldest daughter is a freshman at the University of Delaware and we needed to book a reservation nearby for parents weekend. IHB was a perfect find for our Saturday night dinner for the four of us. We all loved what we ordered and the service was terrific. Our waitress was also a student at UD and was very friendly. I also want to add that my UD student has food issues as she cannot have gluten or any foods with peanuts and peas so the restaurant is very accommodating for customers with special diets; (they even have a gluten free menu). Great restaurant!

Our family had reservations during Parent's Weekend at UDEL. The entire campus and the restaurant were mobbed. We will be eating there every time we visit our son at UDEL!

This ain't your "Christmas Story" meatloaf. Now that October and the fall season is underway, this is a perfect time to head over to IHB and enjoy something from their Oktoberfest menu. Enjoyed the first night out with the lady since our little one was born a month ago. Had the meatloaf with red-cabbage and mashed potatoes, with a good pairing of beer choices to choose from.

We made a reservation and were seated promptly...this was a plus (people waiting looked like they were seething, but hey, use the Open Table service and reserve away!). The service was just so-so (we saw the server 7 times, three times were related to the check). She wasn't attentive and seemed to not want to spend time with us with no drinks and no apps being ordered. Food came out correct but the presentation was not as nice as it had been before. I ordered from the specials for Octoberfest and had 1 of the potatoes not cooked properly and the "smoked pork loin" looking and tasting like a ham steak. The sauerkraut was messily plated and small in portion. For $19, I'd expect better presentation. Wife's burger was good.

Came for the new Sunday Special and the food was fantastic. We find the food and beer to be above average and we are very frequent diners out. The waitress got a backed up, and made several mistakes, but other staff stepped in including the kitchen and restaurant managers. This adequately covered her errors. The air was humid inside when we arrived, but after saying something to the hostess, management immediately lowered the air conditioning.

the food was perfectly prepared and our server was prompt and observant portions for the dinner entrees were small. mixed drinks were not very good but the beer selection was vast. did not care for the bread brought to the table before our meal..it was baked with herbs not to the liking of our party of 7. we were glad we made reservations as the restaurant had a waiting line. VERY NOISY! we would go back but not for a family dinner and certainly not looking to overeat.

We were looking for a place to get a late dinner. Our reservation was for 10pm on a Tuesday. We knew it was late, but figured I'd they were accepting reservations at that time them it would be fine. We went in, the bartender told us to sit wherever. We did. Steve came out and told us we had to order off the late night menu, which was mostly appetizers and pizza. The server was not attentive and the food Tim forever. We didn't feel very welcome it felt like they were trying to close and we were holding them up even though there was at least one other table. The website also did not specify the closing time.

The reservation section (what seemed like it was) of the restaurant is not as nice as the other dining sections. It also seemed like we were seated in the kid/family section; there were four tables around us with groups of children and some of the children were loud and disruptive towards the end of our meal. We made the reservation for my husband's birthday and wanted it to be special (at it was) but being placed in the kids section was a bit of a let down. Most of the kids were fine but toward the end of our dinner a family came with a screaming child.

After a long day of college visits, starving is an understatement. My child absolutely loved U of Delaware, so we thought we would check out Main Street and see what it had to offer (thinking we might be spending the next four years visiting). We choose Iron Hill brewery (among many restaurants) and were not disappointed. We are foodies and enjoy a good meal as well as my husband brews his own beer so we gave it a try. Everything was excellent, we ordered the Pot Pie, Kennett square Burger, House smoked Pork sandwich, Mac and Cheese and Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls. My husband had the DerKaiser Kolsch beer, also recommended.
