We are regulars at the Iron Hill in Media. Have been going there for years and are real fans of the place. Excellent food and service. However ... this last time (and on some other occasions as well) we felt rushed. This is one of my biggest pet peeves about some very decent restaurants. One should never feel rushed when having a good meal. The drinks were barely out when they brought the salad. The salad was far from finished when they brought the main course. They then took my salad before I was finished ... without even asking if I was finished! Also, the NEW menu had some disappointments. A couple of the real favorites were missing (Le Jon pizza for one), and the new salmon dish was a disappointment (plate too large).

I went to this restaurant with my Mother on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 1:30 pm. I ordered the 14 oz Prime Rib special, which for $20 came with 14 oz Prime Rib, choice of mashed or baked potato(es), choice of 16 oz beer or house win, along with choice of cup of soup or salad. I paid a little more to get a bowl of the French Onion Soup. It was excellent, very hot, tasty, and I loved the grugere? cheese. My Mom ordered a cup of the crab soup and we both agreed it was fantastic. We are very critical of food no matter where we eat and we were both amazed at how delicious and wonderful the food was. I then ate the 14 oz Prime Rib, which I normally don't get because it contains alot fat. However, this steak was extremely tasty and moist.

Pluses: Gluten free beer and gluten free menu available. Reasonable prices. Food simple and well prepared. Courteous, if overworked, staff. Minus: We had reservations for 8:00 pm. When we arrived a little early, we were told it would be just a few minutes, but we still had to wait until 8:30 to be seated. This was the Media, PA location on second Saturday, which was probably unusually busy, but since this occurs every month, they should have been better prepared. Decided this would be for lunch or early supper in the future.

Iron Hill is a chain restaurant with locations in PA and Delaware. Offerings are highly similar at each. Went for midweek dinner. Dinner for two, one split appetizer and one adult beverage (beer) and one soda - $53.72. The Hawaiian ahi-tuna with smashed golden potatoes and accompanying salad was $18.85. The tuna was not sushi grade, (and should be at $19), but was bursting with flavors / spices. The Grilled Salmon with mixed field green salad was an outrageously large portion of both fish and rabbit food. Definitely worth $15. The appetizer (Tex Mex Spring Roll) spent :30 too long in the fry-o-lator - but was crunchy, flavorful and a fair portion (two) for $9.95. Service was good but was gang style with waiter returning 4 check-ups

We are a regular at the Media Iron Hill, and we love it. Our experience at the Iron Hill in West Chester and in the Ambler, PA area was not as good, mainly due to the darker and relatively claustrophobic atmosphere. The food and beers were the same, but the wait staff was not as good as at the Media restaurant.

We had a great experience at Iron Hill. I was there for lunch with a group of 5 celebrating a friend's birthday. We were seated right away and served drinks promptly even though two members of our party arrived a bit later. The waiter answered all of our questions and went to extra trouble to make sure we had a specials menu as they hadn't all been printed yet. The food was well-prepared and nicely presented. I had the crab quesidillas which were delcious and worked as an entree even though it was listed as an appetizer.

We were so happy to have our reservation through open table - we were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation time, despite the large amount of people waiting to be seated. The food was fabulous and our waitress was attentive without hovering. The only negative comment I have is the noise level - it was very loud and difficult to talk to the person sitting across from me. I would hesitate to bring my father here(which is a shame because the food is so good) because he has trouble hearing, especially when there is loud chattering in the background. All in all, I plan to go back next time I'm in town.

Very extensive dinner menu; includes salads, burgers, pizza, and nice entrees. Great beer selection. Food was great; service very attentive. Reason I gave "very good" ratings to the food is because it's not an upscale or fine dining experience. But definitely a great spot for a relatively inexpensive, casual meal.

We arrived approx 15 min before our reservation and we seated immediately. But as we sat we noticed how warm it was in the restaurant. Definetly could use better air conditioning.I had eaten at the restaurant 2 weeks prior and ordered a Musclun salad which was very good, so I recommeneded to my friend and we both ordered the same. THe saled was not up the the prior weeks sald. It had all but 2 apples, virtually no dressing or pictashios. I was very disappointed. Also we ordered a glass of wine and recieved a large glass that was approx. 1/3 of the way filled for the price of $6.50???? I know that wine isn't cheap but my god that was ridiculous. I know times are tough but I will think twice before retuning again.

While our dining companions enjoyed their meal very much, I'm afraid my husband and I did not. I should have known when I tasted the bread that was served with the soup and tasted rosemary, which I am not fond of. It seemed presumptuous to flavor bread with an herb not everyone likes. The seafood bisque was excellent, creamy with good depth of flavor and nicely chunky. My crab quesadilla was tasty, if somewhat skimpy in quantity. I'm happy that I requested more of the delicious avocado ranch dressing, because the dressing was merely striped on top of the quesadilla. My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and found it almost inedible, tough and stringy. He hated the sour vinegar- based barbecue sauce and thought it ruined the sandwic
