Diner Reviews
  • "Our meals were very good, especially for the price. For those interested in sports, the bar area is perfect. For a quieter or family dinner the back area is perfect. This was not my first time at Iron Hill and it will not be my last."

  • "We were 5 women who went for a night out which was also a fundraiser where the restaurant donated 20% of their profits that night to a organization which helps homeless families. Good of Iron Hill to support those in need and care about the community. thank you! We were seated on time for our reservation. The wait staff, manager and others all worked together to serve us. they were patient with a bunch of women gabbing too much and taking our time. Everyone enjoyed their food and have all eaten there before separately . They have an extensive menu so there is something for everyone!"

  • "We live four blocks away and crave good restaurants within walking distance. Iron Hill may be. a chain, but I think that it is becoming aware of its place in this community. The servers need to stop asking "Have you dined here before?" The King of the Hill card on the table doesn't seem to cut it - nor does the information on Open Table that one has dined there before. Down to the actual reviews: Blue point oysters - excellent. Authentic brine is rare; these were great! Scallops - excellent Moroccan salmon(wife) - excellent"

  • "Thank goodness for the reservation as the vestibule was packed with waiting diners. Since we had a reservation I would have preferred a table that was not located on a busy aisle that ran from the bar to the kitchen. The noise level was too high for easy conversation. Periodically the lights would dim, a cue to hurry diners along? My mesculun salad was delicious notably the orange-white bean vinaigrette. The pan roasted chicken was too salty. The whole plate of chicken and mashed potatoes was swimming in what looked and tasted like stewing liquid. The asparagus was cooked perfectly, tasty and crunchy, but seriously only 4 spears? I enjoyed the malbec very much"

  • "Beer selection brewed on site nice variety nice light crispy nachos very nice mushroom soup. Salads were chopped to fine and unremarkable. Mains were solid but not spectacular"

  • "We were a group of 9 (including my almost 2 year old son) so they had a large area setup for us. The food was delicious, the drinks were wonderful and we all had a great time! My son ended up running around a bit afterwards while we finished dessert and I loved that there was private space for that. We also went early enough that it wasn't packed yet but as we left, it would've been harder for a small child. Great experience overall, we will be returning!"

  • "Our waitress had a helper, restaurant was not crowded, still hard to find her, very slow to respond."

  • "We eat here often; it is relatively inexpensive, features a huge menu catering to all tastes, and is convenient to work. It is nothing fancy, but it does the trick."

  • "Great place to grab a drink and some food with friends. Def gets packed on Friday and weekends so make a reservation."

  • "I like Iron Hill, though my last experience was only okay. The waitress was rather rude. It then took our food approx 45 minutes to come and the waitress had the manager bring it out (but neither apologized for the long wait). I got the seared tuna salad, and asked for the tuna medium rare, but it was cooked all the way through. I didn't return it because it had already been so long and I wanted to eat with everyone else. All this aside, the food was not fantastic, but it was good. In the past I have been more impressed with the quality, perhaps it was a busy night. The mood of the restaurant suited our needs (just catching up), though the amount of families with small children was pretty great and therefore the noise level was high."

  • "We are King of the Hill members, and we dined on this occasion with great childhood friends of ours who had never yet experienced Iron Hill. Maureen, our server / (also a manager) was very accommodating, without hovering. Everything was as we have come to expect from Iron Hill - something to please everyone. Our friends really enjoyed their first Iron Hill experience."

  • "Our server was outstanding. My firend and I are not huge beer drinkers and were unfamiliar with some of the descriptions. She translated "beer language" , brought us samples and helped us make good choices. The orders came out at the right time; a pet peeve of mine when dining. Neither one of us had anything fancy (burgers, fries, salad) but the food was very good, My burger came out with fried onions which I didn't order, but I decided to keep it. They offered many times to correct the order and I appreciated the gesture. I would dine here again."

  • "Iron Hill is very comunity orientated. They donated 20% of our food bill to a wonderful non-profit that we wanted to support. All 6 in our party enjoyed their meals. And the beer is always a treat!"

  • "The menu offers many good choices to eat. The food is tasty and the drinks are refreshing. I was able to comfortably gather with my sister from NYC, my cousin from Puerto Rico, and my best friend from Harrisburg. We all enjoyed the food, drinks, and camraderie. I enjoyed the chicken teriyaki salad, my sister loved the chicken/corn soup and the shrimp dish, everyone enjoyed the chicken wings. The light beer was refreshing as well."

  • "Our server was fantastic. I was a tad disappointed that the soup you had listed for that day (tomato basil) was not in fact the correct soup....the server raved about it too so when he came back to tell us it had changed, it was kind of a bummer. All else was splendid!"

  • "Dined at 5:30 pm on a Saturday. Crowded, with about 15 people without reservations waiting. Fortunately, we reserved thru Open Table and were led right in. Fantastic beer selection, brewed right there. Impossible not to find something you would like to try. Food portions substantial and quality and preparation quite good. Noise level was up and there were lots of bustling servers running around (at least 3 interacted with our table at some point, but all were prompt and attentive) as well as toddlers who escaped their parents' oversight - but given the ambience, not a problem."

  • "We love their dinner salads and the beer selection. They also have some decent wines by the glass. Even if it is crowded, you can get a nice table in the bar."

  • "My family decided on the Iron Hill Brewery on the recommendation of my sister, who was a previous patron. I must say it was a excellent choice. It was my sister's birthday and she enjoyed it. It was an hit from the door."

  • "We had a great meal as a family here. Everyone was satisfied with the menu options (as we always are) and the noise level was just loud enough that our 4 year-old was able to enjoy himself without it being too loud overall."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "One of my favorite places to dine. Have never been disappointed."

  • "Wonderful service at Iron Hill, the food was great and the server was nothing but pleasant to my party of 7 which I know can be overwhelming at restaurants sometimes. She even went out of her way to offer drink samples."

  • "We enjoy going to Iron Hill Brewery in Chestnut Hill. Plenty of food choices and space for groups, and yet you can also find a spacious but cozy booth if you prefer that. We always reserve via Open Table and each time we have been seated upon arrival and have enjoyed our dishes. We tend to order small plates like the gumbo. This time we went for an early Sunday brunch, and sat by the windows for views of passersby and the bar. I love reviewing the brew process placemats and walking past the windowed brew tank display. It feels like it could be a Cheers kind of place, but we have not found the servers to be chit-chatty. They have plenty of tables to cover and let you have your space to enjoy your meal."

  • "Two of our party of three had the 16 oz rib-eye steak special, and the steak was fabulous and cooked perfectly to order. Also had the blue crab quesadilla, lentil soup, and mushroom soup. All were delicious. Service was perfect, even though it was very busy (many people waiting and all tables filled). The floor manager was very attentive also, making sure everything was to satisfaction."

  • "This large place always seems to be busy and almost full. Lots of kids. So if you have young kids this place is great. Probably great even without kids. Food, service, beer, comfort quite nice and good. Try it you'll probably like it. We've had several very good experiences here."

  • "Went to iron hill as we have been there before and it's usually a good bet for a nice selection of beer and wine and a diverse menu. It was bustling as usual but we did not have a wait and were waited on fairly quickly. The service was good , beer and wine selection offer some good choices, and the food was good as usual. A safe bet for a good time out..."

A special Tiramisu was offered for dessert and it was delicious. The wait staff was professional, atmosphere pleasant, and the evening enjoyable. Good night out."
