Didn't want a big dinner so came here for some soup and pizza. Soup sampler and a Margarita pizza hit the spot. Companion had another style that was good too.

Since we had a group of 6, I thought I'd have difficulty. Not so, they accommodated us quickly and efficiently. The service was great, our food was awesome. All I can say is: always try the special! I got the short rib, the best!

First off, the food at Iron Hill is incredible. My husband and I actually returned for a second lunch the day after our first lunch. My biggest complaint has to do with the wait staff. They seem to want to draw out the process and it's annoying. They insist on explaining all 10 pages of the menu even after informing them that we have dined there previously. They also insist on pushing their beer and it's sometimes difficult to get a word in edgewise. I am expecting so I wasn't going to order any beer, yet it was still difficult to cut off the hard sell. Other than that, the food is always amazing. The portion sizes are difficult to judge and it's very inconsistent, but overall, I'd still return. The voodoo shrimp was my favorite thing.

It is such a shame that it has gotten really bad here. They always, always, always have a huge problem putting you at a table. Even though it was only half-full the running back-and-forth to find you a table is awful. And it happens every time at this Chestnut Hill location. Why should it be so difficult to seat someone? Who cares who handles each table?OpenTable reservation made no difference they still were so confused. Food was good as always but it's so expensive. The portions are very very small. The family of 4 dinner here with tip was $165. IHB had a good thing going once but it is really going downhill. Chestnut Hill location is very poorly run. A new manager with skills in customer service could really make the place great again

Brewery food and drink. Food hit or miss. Some food very good - a soup undercooked, a simple salad unexciting. In a pinch a burger and a beer joint.

This was not our first time dining at this restaurant, and it won't be the last. The beer selection always offers lots of choice, and I love that you can get a sample if you're having trouble deciding between a few options. The french onion soup is warming on a chilly fall day, and I can always count on the cheese burger to fill me up. Our server was prompt and friendly, and went the extra mile to ensure we had an enjoyable experience. I've eaten here before and I'll eat here again. It's always been a good experience.

My most recent visit was with two old friends. We had a great meal with good beer and lots of conversation. The staff was very friendly and attentive without being annoying. Our server made several recommendations that were all on target. (Yes, the soup sampler is worth it.) Although we had made a reservation, it was a Friday night and our table wasn't ready when we arrived. Only a 15 minute wait, but that entry lobby gets crowded!

When we book on Open Table, we generally do not wait or get a pager. This night, we waited 45 minutes for a table. The host did give us a 10.00 gift card or the bar...but seriously, there were 5 of us. When seated, we ordered. Appetizers were fine, but 60 minutes later, still no meal. The waiter came up and said he forgot to put the order in and apologized for the delay. Our reservations were for 7:30. Did not sit till 8:30, finally done dinner at 10:30. Too much time wasted. Biggest complaint, there was a bench full of patrons waiting when we arrived, they did not have reservations...they were all seated before us....sorry but reservations should be honored first.

We were very pleased with the service we received at Iron Hill. We (unwittingly) visited during Harry Potter Weekend in Chestnut Hill, and while our bar experience that evening was less-than-great due to the extra crowd, our dining experience made up for it. The waitress was very personable and attentive (we had been worried because, as mentioned, it was so crowded for the special event), the food was outstanding, and we ended up having a great night out!

We've been coming here since they opened, and try to get here once every couple of months. Menu is huge and offers something for everyone. Favorites are the pizzas, burger and chicken sandwich. Beers are decent and they offer a good selection of specialty IPAs that change frequently. Like all of Chestnut Hill it's expensive for "pub grub" and beers. $18-$24 for growler fills is crazy for a brewpub (Rock Bottom is $11 Tues - Sunday and $6 for 64oz growlers on Monday). Beer pricing is pretty much our only "knock" against the Chestnut Hill Iron Hill.

Went SAT evening with a few friends dinner at 7PM. Weather fall-perfect.Bar open to the street- fairly full when we arrived. We got right to our table, wait staff was immediately attentive. First round drinks prompt, although they were out of the requested vodka. Our ordered appetizers arrived fairly quickly, but when we asked plates to share, they never arrived. Nor did the second round of drinks...for some time. The entrees took even longer. Luckily, one friend was from California and we had alot to catch up on... Manager came and apologized for the delay and gave us a round on the house. Seems that some aspects need fine tuning to adjust to larger than usual crowds on a weekend night. Food was delicious though and drinks quite adequate.

We enjoyed our dinner, but service was very slow. We waited an hour for our entrees, another twenty minutes for dessert, and then a delay in getting our bill. (We scraped together cash so we didn't have to wait for our server to return again and process a card). The problems could have been the kitchen, or it might have been our waitress, who seemed to disappear for extended times. There were not very many other diners at the time, so it could not have been blamed on the number of customers.

I made a reservation via Open Table several days in advance for a table for 2, at the window. When we arrived, we were told that the window seats are first come first served. We were then taken to a table in the middle of the main room which was set for 4. We requested a booth but there was some resistance at first. Other than that initial greeting, our server was quite nice and the food and the seasonal beer were good. I highly recommend the Brussel sprouts and the veggie burgers. We will return and hope to grab a window seat. It was really busy for a Thursday evening and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. There was a very mixed crowd of all ages etc. It felt casual and fun.

We came here specifically for my husband's birthday, as he was craving their prime rib special. Unfortunately, although we called two weeks ago to check they still had it, they discontinued it the day we arrived. He was extremely disappointed. He ordered the fish and chips which was very good and it's hard to find cod fish and chips around here. I ordered the crab cake salad special. They put the wrong dressing and no avocado on it, and I stupidly didn't notice until I had eaten a quarter of it and after the server came to check on us. She didn't come back again until a half hour later or so. She had a lot of tables in the bar area. Although the service wasn't bad, she couldn't been a little more attentive. She was friendly. Beer was good.
