  • "I booked a table for 16 ladies and we celebrated my sister-in-laws up coming wedding. The food, drink and service was amazing!! Also the view from the second floor was beautiful!! The prices were within our budget, we actually thought it would have been more per person so that was a nice surprise. I was a little disappointment that even though I booked the reservation weeks ago the table was not ready for us and it took about 20 minutes to be seated. However, free champagne was handed out to all of us and most ladies thought it was a nice gesture and didn't mind the wait."

  • "This is our local pub, we like it very much. Saturday night was very busy at the pub however we were seated immediately and our server was excellent. Even though he was busy he was attentive and helpful. The menu is fun and the food is good. I would highly recommend this Pub."

  • "The restaurant was busy and noisy. The poor servers have to climb a huge set of stairs to serve food. Food was very very good. We chose from the "Uncorked menu' three courses for $39. First course was excellent, heirloom tomatoes on pork belly, mine was more fatty than the others but very yummy, didn't eat all pf the layer of fat. Main course was great, Texzs longhorn steak, cooked to perfection and orzo/risotto flavoured beautifully. Dessert was a bit of a disappointment, a scoop of vanilla ice cream with two chocolate balls, Possibly truffles, hard to tell, very tiny. Unimaginative."

  • "We visit here every time we are in Canmore but this time it was not all that good. The fish and chips were over cooked and I know growing up in a Scottish house. The waitress was very nice but spent most of her time with probably regulars. We also had to tell her where Mill St beer was from but again she was nice. We will probably visit again but next visit will try some other places first."

  • "All in all a great experience. We went for our anniversary and it was the perfect location given the ambience and view. Food was delicious and fast to come out. The only downside was the speed of the evening. Everything seemed really rushed and we kinda felt we had to hurry up as it was very busy. We barely had pulled out our debit card before the server was bee-lining for our table. Having said that it was saturday evening and we had heard it was an hour wait if you did not have a reservation. Thankfully we did and asked to be on the main floor which they accommodated."

  • "Food was very good (albeit not hot when it arrived) with some excellent spin offs of pub fare. Kentucky lamb ribs instead of beef or pork ribs for an appetizer. Great steak sandwich with Prosciutto, goat cheese and bruschetta topping. Gluten free pizza upon request. We were there for lunch and it wasn't very busy so it is hard to judge the service under other situations. If you are going to stop in Canmore for a bite to eat, this place is definitely worth going off the beaten path to find. Well liked by the locals too."

  • "We had a party of 8 (two families - 4 kids 9-16 yrs old) at the Iron Goat Friday night for my wife's birthday. Food was great, atmosphere was realyl nice and service was attentive. Timing for courses was good and we felt very well taken care of. Thanks for a great evening and we will see you again soon!"

  • "Love this place. The only downside this time was that we had to wait. Our reservations were for 6:30 but we had to wait an extra 15 minutes for a table. They can't control how long people stay for though :) I would definitely go there again! Their lobster mashed potatoes are the best!"

  • "Two diners, seated close to the fireplace on a weeknight in a busy but not overwhelmed pub. Ambiance: a mine and or railway; soaring ceilings in post-and-beam construction with south-facing picture windows and a spectacular daytime view over the Bow Valley. My 'Janisse' pizza was excellent, her duck risotto likewise, followed by cream puffs and accompanied by a glass of Foundry (draft cider) and a pint of Big Rock's Scottish Heavy."

  • "The Iron Goat is just up the street from us, but we've heard mixed reviews on this place since we moved here, so we decided to bite the bullet and find out for ourselves. We went for our Valentine's meal and it was fantastic. We weren't waiting around for our table, our server was great, the food came quickly, it was delicious - all on one of their busiest nights of the year. We were in and out in about an hour and a half, but at point no point felt rushed and felt like we could have stayed there all night. Looking forward to taking advantage of that deck in the summer!"

  • "We had a large group of 9 out in Canmore for a family weekend. With many different tastes and levels of "foodies" Iron Goat managed to please everyone. Service overall was excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant was great! The ribs were highly recommended to us and they were definitely a crowd pleaser. The only complaint would be that the Cuban ribs one of us ordered were way more fat than meat which was a little bit of a disappointment. However, we all agreed that we would happily return to dine here on our next trip to the mountains."

  • "Although it's a pub they are very child friendly. The kids meals also came with a veggie tray with dip (appetizer), and then the main with another side. They had macaroni and cheese with seasonal veggies. Both were amazing. Veggies cooked to perfection and the macaroni was so creamy and cheesy they both said it was the best in the world. Dessert was a fresh donut with berries and cream. My hubby had the meatloaf and Mac and cheese which he loved! I had the bison ribs which were delicious with their orange/BBQ sauce. My meal came with a separate "sweet potato pie" that came in a dish with fresh marshmellows semi-melted and candied pecans. It also came with peach coleslaw and beans which were a nice compliment to the meat! Great beer too!"

  • "We're from out of town, and we were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The architecture of the building was very cool, and the menu was unusual, but tasty. A very enjoyable experience all around. Our waitress was fantastic, and was very patient with our two kids. We would definitely done here again! :)"

  • "Made reservations and somehow got the worst table in the place. Table was in the middle of the room upstairs and was in the path of every server up there. Every time someone walked by, Which was about every 20 seconds, the whole floor and table shook violently. It got really annoying. Also, the view was very obstructed up there. Crab dip was pretty good. Meatloaf was not bad. Server was polite and prompt. Might try again for lunch if I can get a better table with a view."

  • "Kitchen needs to buy salt and pepper in a bad way! The menu looks fantastic and interesting, but we were sadly disappointed. The service seemed a bit slow as well. The only thing I would come back for would be beers on the patio in the summer with the beautiful view."

  • "A valiant attempt at the Iron Goat Pub & Grill, for the Valentine's dinner. The menu was good and the ambiance pleasant. Romantic mountain views. Of course, the Iron Goat Pub & Grill is a pub at heart, so expect higher noise and frivolities than a traditional four-star restaurant. We had a wedding reception in the adjacent room. This was inclusive of clinking glasses, chats for speeches, cheers and whistling. A great restaurant. Servers are wonderful and very focused on the patrons. And the view...awesome. Just expect some "ambiance"."

  • "would not come back-I was very disappointed with your food. My daughter ordered a vegetarian fajtas and there were ONLY peppers and onions and one artichoke. No taste at all and no other vegetables. I also ordered a mushroom vegetarian pasta- one Port mushroom and pasta with the same pepper mixture underneath -NO taste very watery and NOT good at all. Husband steak was just OK- cheese pizza was OK. Dessert was pretty good. But would not come back there"

Unfortunately we could hear every word the people at the neighbouring tables were saying and even though it was obvious that quite a few guest were cold the heat did not get turned up and neither was the fireplace getting turned on."

  • "Parking was atrocious! We had to park way up a steep, snowy hill in a field. It is not for the unfit for there were many stairs inside once you arrived as well. However, the group all enjoyed the interesting and different menu items from the usual fare offered at chain restaurants so the inconvenience was well worth it. There is no view at night but the large windows and patio space must allow for great views in the daytime and longer summer evenings."
