We had 4 tables for 6 (24 total) and they did a wonderful job of making us feel welcome. Professional waiters make all the difference in a good restaurant. Everything I had was superb: Spinache Flambe, French onion soup (the best), Steak au poive, and Tiramasu for dessert. I NEVER order tiramasu at restaurants except at Iron Gate. They make their own and it is like a piece of heaven. Thank you Iron Gate for a wonderful birthday evening. Until next time! The food was absolutely delicious & the service was impeccable. It is romantic, with soft lighting, although clearly fun for groups of all ages. Old fashioned, formal & delightful servers.
We started with the escargot, the best I have ever had. I followed that up with the onion soup, which was fanastic. My companion had the lamb loin, which he loved & I had the petrale sole, based on the waiter's recommendation..delicious! The only disappointment at all was the berry souffle. This was our 20th wedding anniversary celebration........and we enjoyed all 3 hours of our dining. Our server did not know we were celebrating until he brought the bill; however, he fulfilled all of our wishes for a very leisurely dinner and served every course in a timely manner, from appetizers to dessert and coffee. Iron Gate is one place where that opportunity still exists. A classic and well thought-out menu, genteel surroundings, perfect service, and wonderful table-side preparation creates a wonderful experience for special times.
Steak Diane, Cesear Salad, the Souffle, Bananas Foster, Veal Saltimboca are all standouts, but it is hard to go wrong. The specials are usually standouts.

We had the caesar salad for two. For the main meal, I had Steak Diane while my husband had surf and turf. It was all prepared to perfection! And the Bananas Foster Oh, la-la...it was over the top!
