Diner Reviews
  • "Heading from NoVa, we thought stopping in Warrenton for a bite was a good idea before continuing on to Little Washington and Sperryville. We enjoyed a rooftop lunch with a wine flight, the oyster chowder, and fried calamari - all were excellent. The shrimp and grits were perfectly seasoned with very large prawns. My local rueben sandwich was amazing. Excellent find in a small town."

  • "My girlfriend and I shared a birthday lunch at The Bridge restaurant on a recent Saturday. The weather was so lovely that we asked and were seated on their roof top patio complete with an umbrella. We had such a lovely time that we were there from noon to at least 3 pm. The food and wine were great, and the service impeccable. A very attentive and generous wait staff. I can't wait to take my husband there for lunch to try the crab cake sandwich (his favorite)."

  • "We meet friends from Falls Church area for dinner since we live way out in the country. The upstairs is best for talking, downstairs is a bit louder. The wine selections are great and our food selections were excellent. The three course meal is a great bargain. Our service was excellent and professional. Great neighborhood gathering place."

  • "We had a great time and the service was great. The food is a little overpriced for what you get but the wine and beer selection was extensive. Good atmosphere."

  • "Beautiful restaurant. Attentive but not intrusive service and that is rare! The Mahi Mahi was delicious and the chocolate cake truly scrumptious. I had the mystery white wine and that was excellent also. Will definitely be back."

  • "Food was absolutely delicious. It was different with fresh ingredients. Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had. Our server was polite, friendly and knowledgable about the food. Our only complaint...not a fan of the rail seating downstairs. Uncomfortable and takes away from the intimacy of your seating. Not sure how it's set up upstairs but we will go back. Will probably call for a reservation so we can request better seTing or try the outside when it's warmer."

  • "I was with m parents who are a bit older. With the noise level it was difficult to have a conversation. The menu was small, but the food was good. Seem like a pick up place, but not in a bad way."

  • "The food and wine is always superb at Iron Bridge Restaurant!!! The service has been an experience of excellent to simply fair. This was a simply fair experience as at the beginning of the night we waited at least 10 mintues for a greeting from the waiter, or anyone in the lower bar area as we were tucked away in the corner next to a stone wall on the back side of the bar. As the night progressed, the service seemed to be improving."

  • "This is a destination restaurant in Warrenton and worth the drive to get there. We had a small group and everyone was pleased with the food."

  • "From the Hostess to the Servers, the service was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and the staff most personable. The food was excellent. My partner ordered the Rock Fish which was superb and I ordered the locally grown beef, also superb. I ordered a very dry vodka martini with cocktail onions and was served exactly that.! The evening was enjoyable, thanks to the ambiance and staff."

  • "We ate here after much anticipation and we all left slightly disappointed. The atmosphere was great. It was very hot and we asked to turn the heat down numerous times, which if you know me, you'd know that never happens. The service was very slow. The waitress knew nothing about the drink menu at all. The food was good but not over the top. This place gets so much hype in our local area and I'm not sure why. I don't think we'd ever go back honestly. It was a mediocre experience for a high price. There's many other places locally that offer great service and better food for the same price."

  • "My second visit. Both were great. Go for the cheese plate. And don't go in a rush. Take your time."

  • "We took some dear friends for a night out complete with dinner at the Iron Bridge in Warrenton. The food, service, and wine selection were all fantastic."

  • "Whether you are in the mood for a red or white, you will find a great collection of wines to choose from here. Don't just go for the wine though because their food is 5 star quality and taste. My girlfriend and I love this place for a special occasion or just to get out of the city for good food and wine."

  • "Food and wine offered solid choices without being pretentious or a poor value. My sea bass was very good, fresh and cooked well. My dining partner got a cheese burger that was clearly premium, size, preparation, cheese and roll, with very good sweet potato fries. There was a good selection of wines by the glass, and all were good values."

  • "Lunch was very nice. One diner in party is especially fond of rockfish and enjoyed it immensely. Wine flight provided variety."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Slow wait staff this visit but scrumptious fondue and duck special. Many Virginia wines but not as large a selection as Iron Bridge in Columbia, MD -- which they are no longer associated."

  • "Great food, good service, a little expensive for a casual atmosphere."

  • "Excellent food and good value. The service was somewhat uneven."

  • "This place just gets better and better - The wine, the food, the knowledgeable bartender - it can't be beat! Best restaurant within 20 mile of Gainesville."

  • "Doc was a pleasure to be served by --- good animation, knowledge of wine and foods offered, pleasant too interact with."

  • "Another wonderful dining experience at Ion Bridge. The special Butternut Squash soup and their signature Caesar salad were very good starters. The Rockfish special served with mashed polenta and the Crab Crusted Mahi Mahi off the regular menu were well prepared and presented. Service, as always, was top notch. About the only thing that detracted from the experience was how tight the upstairs level was. Since they removed the self-service wine bar, they crowded as many tables and chairs as possible in a relatively small space. We were seated at the middle of three tables neat the windows. Getting in and out of your oversized chair required you to be a bit of a contortionist."

  • "Dinner was outstanding. One of the best meals we have ever had at this restaurant. Our waitress was very sweet and professional. Definitely one of our favorite places to eat in Warrenton."

  • "We took a small group to iron bridge, and had a good time. The food was delicious and the staff was knowledgeable about wine pairings. My only complaint would be the large tables leave little room to move and get to your table. Also it was rather warm in the upper level. We had a group of adults but this is definitely not a place for kids!"

  • "First time visitors - saw comment from friend that a group had gone there on a Sat night but tried it out for a mid day lunch. Enjoyed every minute of it. Great food and great service - will definitely take other friends there!"

  • "Knowing nothing about this restaurant, we were delighted to find this "rockin" place. The food was very good, service excellent and we made a meal of two appetizers - plenty for us. Wine was not quite as good as I wanted it to be, but the selection was great. We would go there again."

  • "The Bridge in Warrenton,VA is a wonderful restaurant. The menu changes to fit the seasons and they use a lot of local meat, veggies, mushrooms, and cheeses. They are committed to local food! The food is flavorful, there is always a vegetarian dish, and there is something on the menu for everyone. My favorite restaurant in the area, BY FAR."

  • "I took my wife here for a romantic lunch Christmas Eve and we sat at the table in the window and enjoyed watching the hustle bustle in the streets of old town Warrenton. We had a great bottle of wine and a great meal. We took our time and enjoyed our time with each other and they didnt mind that we stayed for 2 1/2 hours. We will definitely go back."

  • "I had been here before with a friend, and this last visit was with my girlfriend, which turned into the best place to end up after wine tasting all day. Great food and service. I couldn't recommend it more. Also, we definitely recommend ordering a dessert here because they are worth it."

  • "Iron Bridge never ceases to amaze with its creative menu choices. We both started with the Apple Bisque soup. It was a semi-thick soup in which you tasted both the tartness of the apples and the sweetness of the cinnamon. For entrees, one Sea Bass special and one Parmesan Crab-crusted Mahi-Mahi off the regular menu. Both were nicely prepared and presented. They were accompanied by tasty vegetables and starches. There wasn't much need for the kitchen staff to clean either plate. The Pinot Grigio we selected worked well with the meal. No room left for what sounded like a sinful Bread Pudding, for dessert. However, a coffee and a cappuccino nicely capped off the meal. Great staff, from the people who greet and seat you to your servers."

  • "This was a special occasion..a birthday dinner for our sister-in-law. Our waiter presented her with a birthday card signed by the staff. Everything from service to food was so outstanding that the only complaint I can come up with is that the fettuccini with mushrooms should be an entree...it was that delicious. At the end of the dinner our brother-in-law who is very particular about his food declared he wanted to come back for his birthday!"

  • "We had not been to Warrenton for 25+ years. Wow. The food and walking sites downtown are now interesting and colorful. The iron bridge on Main Street is a good anchor for a visit. Little French fillets were great and the mystery wine was fresh and tasty bargain. Also don't forget to walk around corner to red truck bakery to pick up some world class treats to take home."

  • "Ambiance, service, delicious quality food, and a terrific wine selection always make for a super evening! Comfortable and very attractive, warm and inviting atmosphere. Servers always helpful and gracious. Extensive wine selection with being able to purchase from their "cellar" on the wall. Yummy menu. Wanted to eat lightly this last time, so had 2 of my favorites -- their ceasar salad made with crispy red romain lettuce and toasty baguette slices instead of croutons, and their totally unique crispy fried calamari (seasoned with slivers of lemon and ginger, and with a fabulous ,moderately spiced dipping sauce). Have had main entree dishes previously that were excellent."

  • "Service good, food good, noise level unbearable. We were downstairs, and the group behind us was literally screaming like they were at a college football game. It ruined the night for my friends and myself- we all had headaches y the time we left. The staff tried to move us, but there was no availability."
