Diner Reviews
  • "Always enjoy visiting this place whenever in Columbia, MD! Monday night was steak night which gives you either soup or salad and then a choice of streak. All were great! The steak was cooked perfectly too! Ordered a side of fried brussels sprouts too! yum! Wine of the day is typically worth trying too!"

  • "I took an out of town guest to Iron Bridge for casual lunch on a Tuesday. Our salad and wine pairing were delicious, and the apple crisp dessert was mouthwatering. Surprisingly, there was nothing left to being home. Thank you Iron Bridge for another great dining experience!"

  • "We took family from out of town and they were thoroughly impressed! After spending several days with them and trying various local restaurants, they rated Iron Bridge as their favorite. They said they definitely want to go there again."

  • "Once the server got our pace figured out, and we got the right cheese, all was well. Calamari is amazing as is the cheese plate to start with your sipping wine. The beet salad and Caesar salad got rave reviews . The duck and short ribs were excellent as well. Along with a Heitz 2009 Cab. A lovely 3.5 hour event."

  • "Love this place. Fabulous lunch; love the wine service approach and the ambiance is delightful. You'd drive right past this place as it looks like something out of Triple D. Quiche with fresh fruit. Leafy greens with luscious seafood. A wonderful leisurely rainy Saturday lunch. Service was absolutely on point, too."

  • "I live in Montgomery County, but I don't hesitate to drive 45 minutes each way to visit this restaurant because it is one of the very few that has never disappointed. The keys to its consistency are the choice of very good ingredients and friendly, but professional service."

  • "I was fortunate enough to have dined twice in one week at the iron bridge, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, service and ambiance at both meals! It had been a while since I was there last, and had a very bad service experience last time. What a truly excellent set of dining experiences. I look forward to my next visit."

  • "This is our absolute favorite restaurant. The service is impeccable, the food is amazing and the knowledge of the staff concerning appropriate wines is also excellent. Since it is a fairly small restaurant, it can be crowded, but the service is so good and the attention to detail so perfect that one hardly notices. Iron Bridge is also extremely accommodating to diners with food allergies or special food needs. It is a jewel."

  • "We had brunch on a Sunday at Noon. We got there early, before they opened, and the waiter let us come in from the cold. He was very friendly and pleasant. The food was delicious. We had a flatbread, a quiche, an omelette, and the corned beef hash. For dessert, we had the apple crisp, the pot de creme, a creme brûlée, and tiramisu. All four people in our party enjoyed all aspects of the meal, including the different desserts. The portion sizes of the entrees and the desserts were generous, especially the creme brûlée. The price was reasonable, and it was the best meal out we have had in a long time. If they had a fireplace, the ambience would go up one more star. We will definitely return."

  • "First visit, had heard great things and was not disappointed. Menu was a bit limited for me (not a heavy cheese or cream type sauce fan) but great for my wife so it evened out."

  • "A special occasion called for a special place. Asked for a cozy corner and got it. Service fabulous and food was fresh and festive (we were there St. Patty's Day weekend). Known for its wine, but its menu is equally thoughtful and delicious. Place was packed but four of us were taken well care of, never rushed or forgotten. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Iron Bridge."

  • "My boyfriend and I had a wonderful first-time experience here. We were celebrating our 5th anniversary. Our waitress brought out champagne for us and gave us a few moments before she came back for our drink order. She was very helpful in recommending wine. Our food was so delicious and so was dessert. We will definitely be coming back again!"

  • "The Iron Bridge (Hwy 108 a couple of miles west of 29, across from Elliott's Oak petting zoo and produce stand) is a culinary gem set off by itself across 108 from pasture / farmland. Excellent food, very well prepared and presented. Good ambience -- though can be somewhat noisy when many tables are in use. Very good wine list. And it functions as a retail wine shop, too, with a nice selection of bottles on display. So if you really like the wine you had with your meal, you can buy another bottle or two as you leave! It's so nice to have such a fine establishment so close by!"

  • "I enjoy going to Iron Bridge. Service is good, a little slow this particular night, probably due to a somewhat larger table next to us. Food was terrific. I ordered the special on "steak night" I got the smaller portion and it was perfect. Desert was huge, and yummy. I like that they have a daily wine selection, it helps me to try new wines. I also ended up purchasing two bottles of wine to take home. I will go back."

  • "Met friends who live in Columbia, otherwise would not have travelled so far from Baltimore. Nice vibe, lots great wines by the glass, and very good (not great) food. I had hanger steak with steamed spinach on the side which they were nice enough to substitute because I did not care for the sides the steak came with. The meat was a little on the rare side, but not bad enough to send back. The spinach was perfect. My husband got the rib eye special; he thought it was very good, but pricey. Our friends both got the special scallops, but again, thought they were very good, but pricey. Be prepared to drop at least $100 for two for a nice dinner with wine(s). I would go back, but not anytime soon. Too many other places on my bucket list!"

  • "This restaurant is really in the middle of nowhere, but an amazing find. I've been here several times and loved it every time. Most recently my husband and I were here to celebrate our 10th anniversary and the experience was more than we could have asked for. The food is wonderful and the service was impeccable. The variety of food and drink is really great - the menu isn't too large (which is a nice change of pace from chains with menus as long as War and Peace), but offers a number of options depending on your tastes. And definitely save room for desert! It can be hard to get in, even on a weeknight, so I strongly recommend reservations - at least a week in advance if you're aiming for a Saturday or Sunday."

  • "The walls are lined with bottles of wine! You can pick one off the shelf and you can drink it at your table with your meal. The wine flights are great--Spanish flight is recommended--and the food is amazing. The tuna ribbons were a nice appetizer, and the rockfish with mussels in a compound butter sauce was the best fish entree I might have ever eaten. I was quite close to drinking the sauce, it was so good. Top it off with the sorbet trio for dessert and it is a meal to remember! On Sundays this place offers a 3-course meal for $38, but they are adamant that you must have a dessert (not two apps). All in all, a great find. Grab a bottle to go from their sale list."

  • "This restaurant was a great treat. The food and the atmosphere were ideal. My dinner club went there on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. Our wait staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my three course meal there and would suggest this place to anyone."

  • "We enjoyed the food, the wine, and the service. It is a small restaurant, so it was a bit noisy and we were packed in pretty tightly with other customers, so there isn't much privacy. We celebrated my husband's birthday and they left a nice card for him and brought out his dessert with a candle. We hope to go back!"

  • "We visited Wine Bridge for our anniversary. The food was very good. Maybe the best Rockfish I've ever had. But it's way too pricey for us to consider going there with any frequency and too small and loud for a special occasion. Our waitress was very good."
    Dined on 2/28/2014
  • "The PIE mussels at Iron Bridge are consistently the biggest and most plump in Howard and Montgomery Counties. The sauce has just the right balance of of garlic and butter. The sale of bottles of wine at regular retail prices on Thursdays makes the restaurant the best bargain in the area on that day of the week."

  • "In the middle of almost nowhere is this fabulous restaurant. Great food, super wine list. A choice for special occasions."

  • "Our service was good, and we enjoyed the first course cheese plate. The second course the steak wasn't cooked enough, to the point that it was chewy it was so rare. It was corrected after it was sent back. The potato hash that was served under the steak seemed undercooked in my opinion, who likes hard pototoes? For a slow weeknight you expect a little more attention to detail."
