  • "Iron Bridge is located between DC & Baltimore. Our 6 pm reservation was for the Monday after July 4. My colleague's drive was easy, and she was early. My drive from DC was nuts, and I was late. Iron Bridge is misleading from the outside; one might even drive past it, and I wondered if the exhausting drive would be worth it. It really was! Inside was lovely though informal. Our server and the manager checked on us well, but did not hover. The wines were very impressive. My colleague's scallops were perfect. She loved the asparagus veloute that came with the scallops, and she doesn't like asparagus. My vegetarian meal was beautifully done as well. Other diners ooo-ed over their food. The panna cotta was sublime; I'd go back just for that."

  • "The food was delicious - the server was very knowledgeable about all the meals and even let us know they were running low on the lamb. The fococcia type bread they bring out at the start of the meal was divine. We shared the wahoo and the lamb chops. Everything was cooked perfectly. Oddly his entree didn't include any veggies - only lamb, potato and a sauce, all of which were delicious but not a well rounded meal. We could have ordered an veggie appetizer or a salad, but we really didn't want *that* much food. The wine selection is wonderful we had a great non-oaky chardonnay. The desserts looked amazing, maybe next time! Atmosphere is relaxed and the dress is whatever, you see it all and somehow it all works!"

  • "The Iron Bridge is a great place to enjoy a wonderful atmosphere of bottled wines that make up the walls, some small tables as well as a bar in this area. There is also a small adjoining dining room that features a large "sit around" area in the center of the room. I prefer the tables, but can see where the application would be great for a group enjoying dinner or happy hour. The food is outstanding as is the service. This is a spot that should be on everyone's "go to" list."

  • "We planned a special birthday event and the Iron Bridge staff couldn't have been nicer. We were offered a complimentary champagne toast, but 2 members of the group could't drink champagne, so the waitress quickly suggested substituting a delightful (expensive) rose wine. She provided a birthday card, a candle on the desert and on the spur of the moment, designed a cute lemon and lime garnished wine glass to go along with a beach trip theme. And, as always, the meal was delicious!"

My husband had a lamb which he said was done to perfection, pink and juicy. He enjoyed the rhubarb strawberry crisp and I had the sorbet trio, all made in house and delicious."

  • "Great central location to meet friends from Carroll County. The food was good, nice eclectic menu and I had an awesome Cabernet. The House Made Fetticini was very good although the soft-boiled egg sitting atop it freaked me out a little. Old -world recipe, I know, but I ate around it and it was the only thing left in the bowl once I was done. (Just couldn't fathom a running egg in my pasta!). For dessert I had Strawberry Rhubarb crisp. Nice flavor, but a bit too runny. I would have liked to have had more fruit. My friends had an orzo dish and a steak. There was nothing left! Heading back Wednesday for a wine tasting! Looking forward to trying something else on the menu!"

  • "My wife and I dined here Saturday evening for a pre-father's day celebratory dinner. Maureen was great. Prompt and knowledgeable service. She seemed to enjoy herself, smiling the entire evening. The food was delicious. We had the ceviche, which has a nice kick, and the chicken liver mousse to start. My wife had the crab cake entrée and said it was the best crab cake she has ever had. I went with the dry-aged rib eye which was cooked perfectly and could have been cut with a butter knife. It had the intense flavor you expect from dry-aging. We shared the crème brulee for dessert. The chocolate ganache on the bottom of the crème brulee really took it over the top. This was our first visit but there will be more. Cheers."

  • "I chose this spot because one of my clients is vegetarian and the menu has several meatless options. Two of us had the home ground burgers and two had the grilled cheese although the vegetarian had hers without the bacon. (Which I understand was delicious) Not to be missed though are the french fries. Best I have had in years! Thin and crispy. All four of us ordered fries and all of us could not stop eating them! The restaurant is much nicer and larger on the inside than it appears on the outside. Although a bit off the beaten track it is so worth it!"

  • "It was my boyfriend's and my first time here. I took him here for his birthday and it was amazing. We got the calamari (to die for), brussel sprouts, halibut and duck. The appetizers were so tasty and the entrees were seared to perfection. We also got the creme brulee because of other reviews, and it was just as expected, amazing. Our waiter was great, and the atmosphere was nice. We will definitely be going back!"

  • "Returning diners know it can get somewhat pricey, but the visit is always worth it. The food is always excellent; and the menu changes with the seasons and the availability of good stuff. Portions, at first, look small but they always satisfy. No one goes away still hungry. Offerings are always balanced, well seasoned (no salt or pepper on the tables) and have that special touch from the chef. Wine list is ample; or select your own from the huge racks on the wall; or if a beginner, ask for help with paring the wine(s) with the food you ordered. The experience will make you want to come back."

  • "I took my husband (Thursday, June 5) to Iron Bridge for the first time (2nd time for me). We were blown away by the wine, food and service. We had the strip steak, nestled atop the fried polenta. The steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection!!! And, the fried polenta was truly a guilty pleasure. They did not have my husband's favorite drink, Jack Daniels, but their Monticello Vineyards Estate Grown Merlot, Vintage 2010, more than made up for that. We went there at 5:30, which was perfect and I highly recommend making reservations (I'm a big fan of Open Table). So, the following day, when trying to decide what to do for dinner, we had to resist not returning to Iron Bridge (trying to lose weight). "

  • "We dined for my husband's birthday. They had a birthday card waiting at the table when we arrived and a candle on the complimentary dessert! The food was perfect as usual. The wine suggested by our server was a perfect choice. We dined on two pasta dishes and a soft shell crab entree plus panna cotta and strawberry-rhubarb crisp for dessert. It was pouring down rain when we attempted to leave, and they suggested we go back to our table until it let up. Our server even volunteered to pull up our car. Whatever they do, they do well!"

  • "My wife and I went there for my birthday.On the outside it looks plain, not even like a restaurant.However, inside looked really nice with wine bottles everywhere. For an app we had the ceviche, which was a different take but very well prepared.Then my wife had the burger, which was one of the best i've had (we share). I had the pork tenderloin which was very tasty and not too heavy. The prices are awesome as well, not much more than a night at Chili's, but way better food.The only problem I had was the corking fee. They sale wine to go home as well, so we bot a bottle that was not on the list for that night, so my wife purchased on from the list that they sale to take home. So a corking fee was charged for a wine they sale."

  • "As I have reviewed Iron Bridge Wine Company at least once before, I haven't much extra to say. It excels in every department other than being somewhat noisy; it is, in addition to being a fine restaurant, a wine bar; so an "energetic" noise level is to be expected. My favorite features are its wine "flights," and its signature bread-pudding dessert. On my last visit, the bread-pudding du jour was a tasty German Chocolate."

  • "The old adage about Tuesdays being the weakest night in a restaurant's food/service certainly don't apply here. Obviously, early is better than late, but no matter what time you go the food is fresh, the menu innovative and the service most obliging. This is definitely the place for repeat visits: your biggest challenge will not be running out of things to try, but visiting often enough to try all of one menu before it's time for the next! While the abundance of hard surfaces makes it a little 'livelier' than I like in the main room, there's lots of fiber hangings in the side room to allow for conversational privacy. Make sure you leave room for dessert: all are definitely equal to the comprehensive wine and menu selections. Delicioso!"
