Diner Reviews
  • "My boyfriend and I just spent our 2 year anniversary dinner at Iozzo's, and we loved it! They brought us out champagne to celebrate, how thoughtful! We had Elizabeth as a server. Sunday they have a "devour downtown" special menu, I got the 3-way chicken. It was perfect for me because I can never decide what I want! My boyfriend got the linguine with clam sauce, he said it rivaled his dads recipe! We both got the tomato basil soup and it was to die for! Sunday they have a white and red wine on special, so we got a bottle of white. I ended my 3 courses with a canoli! My boyfriend is a bartender at a nice Indianapolis restaurant, so he can be picky when it comes to food and wine, and he was very impressed! Definitely 5 stars!"

  • "Our party was 12, and had a show to get to that started downtown at 8. Had booked as 2 parties of 6 on Open Table (max allowed on-line), but Iozzo's agreed to put tables together after calling them directly the day before. Staff were very prompt and made sure things kept moving along to get us out of there on time around 7:20. All the staff pitched in at different times to keep things moving. Food was great with one exception - the eggplant pamesan had only one piece of eggplant and a lot of spaghetti. Overall, good dinner and drinks, great service."

  • "We had a group of 13 for a show that was using the Lucas Oil Stadium, we found Iozzo's last year and everyone wanted to go back this year. The service was just as friendly and food just as good as we all remember and the pricing was a pleasure after dining in City Center earlier in the week."

  • "We went early to avoid the crowds, but still made a reservation. By the time we left, the crowd had grown considerably. However, we were tucked into a nice corner where it was plenty quiet for a nice conversation. Our waitress was very attentive but not overbearing. The food was delicious. It's someplace we will definitely return."

  • "This was our fourth trip to Iozzo's and it gets better every time. Jill is an amazing server. The wine...the food...the everything about this place makes it my new favorite in a city with a lot of restaurants. Try it!"

  • "Being from St. Louis and enjoying Italian restaurants on "The Hill", this restaurant had the same ambience of a quaint Italian place with delicious food and a great wine selection. It was so nice to find a local eatery place amongst so many of Indy's chain restaurant. Very enjoyable! Can't wait to go back for more Calamari, chilled House Salad, and fantastic Lasagna!"

  • "We have been to Iozzo's many times and it is consistently good. Very well trained and energetic wait staff. Always a great experience. Fun to take people to that don't know the downtown landscape well."

  • "I brought my boyfriend to this establishment for our 1-year anniversary dinner. Iozzo's was recommended by a friend and I thanked you after attending because the place was great. The mood was set to be romantic, the food was cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed the history behind the store along with it being family operated. I will be returning to Iozzo's, hopefully soon, but I'm definitely attending their movie nights that they will be starting this summer."

  • "Our forst attempt ti dine at Iozzo's started a bit rocky when they did not receive our Open Table reservation on my birthday last year. We tried it a second time and found a new favorite! It was just the two of us and the food, ambience and service were great! A nice option, as well for gluten free entrees. The second visit was this past Saturday with a group of 8 close friends. It was all their first visit and it was a hit with them, as well. I can't wait until it warms up to take advantage of the outdoor dining. It looks quaint and cozy."

  • "It was all of all 1st time there and we all really enjoyed the food. We were working so no alcohol but there was a drink special that look very nice, as did the wines. A little loud. I would like to go back some evening to see what it is like in the bar. We will all go back!"

  • "We always patronize this lovely Italian restaurant when we are in town for FDIC. My BF's mother is Sicilian and the man knows a good gravy (not sauce) when he tastes one! He has given their food 2 thumbs up and insists that we return every chance we get! I, personally, love everything about this place! The food is delicious, the ambience is romantic and the customer service is second to none! I noted in my reservation that I wanted a particular table, if possible, and the staff made sure it was reserved and ready for us upon our arrival. Can't wait to visit there again in a few weeks!"

  • "This is our restaurant before every Colts home game and for the last three years we have celebrated the March birthdays of the 3 Ranger boys. Everything about the dining experience was great, as noted in the ratings. Cannot imagine a more relaxing way to spend a late Sunday afternoon dining experience in mid March in Indianapolis."

  • "Meal was fresh and delicious. Spaghetti and meatballs."

  • "Our server was very informative about the history of the restaurant and knowledgable about the menu. Chilean sea bass was excellent. Others in our party had chicken diavolo (spicy) and lasagna. The portions were generous. We will definitely come again."

  • "Food was very good and the presentation of the meal most excellent. Our waiter did everything right, including giving us our check.!!! We were a party of 3 women and asked for separate checks, when she returned with our bill she called each of us by name( ie Miss Amy, Miss Carol) band my point is she got our names correct without looking and no confusion in our checks. Best I've ever seen!!!!"

  • "Cold outside, but warm and inviting inside. Cozy, but comfortable. Great-grand children following the family tradition. An interesting story to go along with good food. Traditional Italian dishes. A great wine list at reasonable prices. The Chicken Picatta was excellent and the chocolate brownie was more than enough for two to share."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to us for its food and service so our expectations may have been too high. It may be that we dined too early in the evening (5pm as we were attending the symphony) to properly judge but the mussels were almost too salty to eat and the scallops were virtually raw. The prices are on the more expensive side. The service was slower than might be expected for the light crowd. We may go back to give it another try but being new to Indianapolis there are plenty of other places to try."

  • "Dined here before and had wonderful experiences. This time was a let down. Pasta dishes were under cooked. sent back twice, waited and still undercooked. Lasagna was overcooked, tasted starchy and was unenjoyable. Service tried but kitchen could not deliver."

  • "Our work group met for dinner and we had a wonderful time. The wines were half price on Wednesday and they were excellent. Great selection of entrees and everyone found theirs to be delicious. The desserts were also wonderful! I was partial to the cannoli and we all loved sharing the caramel sea salt brownie. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. Love this place!"

  • "They sat us in the back under the window looking out onto the patio. It was winter and cold and the window needs some sealant/caulking. It was pretty chilly. All four of us kept our coats on. Other tables were full. Don't think our waiter had a sense of humor. Very glum or blaze attitude. Food was just OK. Wife is Italian, so we always compare her cooking to other Italian restaurants. This one did not stack up."

  • "We tried this for the first time on Saturday and the service was outstanding. The owner of the restaurant stopped by the table and told the story of the family and the history of Iozzo's. The food was delicious and served promptly without any rush. The wait staff was extremely observant and delivered drinks and food in such a manner that it allowed for conversation. Loved our visit."

  • "Wonderful food. The chicken diavolo was spicy and delicious. The sea salt brownie was an excellent ending to the meal. Our server was attentive and gave good descriptions of menu items. Looking forward to going back and trying other items on the menu."

  • "Celebrated a birthday...seated at a back table was pleasant for conversation. Great and affordable house wine. Antipasti plate was well appointed but the balsamic drizzle overwhelmed the whole plate...next time will hold off on the drizzle. Entrees were the highlight! Great piccata and the seared scallops with polenta were the best of Indy local Italian fare. Cannoli was not too sweet but shells were over cooked. We had grand service which overcomes any of the above food shortcomings. Would recommend weekend or special occasion dining here to everyone who doesn't mind a complete dinner for two costing. $$$."

  • "Me and my boyfriend loved visiting!! I will say that I was cold during my dining experience and I also wish that they had brought the bread to the table before we got the rest of our meal so that we wouldn't have ordered an appetizer! This ended up being too much food! We did love the food and the atmosphere and we will be back!"

  • "We had a party of four and sat in the front window. We made reservations early and from the minute we sat down we were treated like kings and queens and the food was fabulous along with a bottle of wine of course. Service was beyond excellent and this restaurant, though smaller, has a very romantic atmosphere about it. Exposed brick walls and white table cloths....you don't feel like you are just south of the downtown of a major metropolitan city...you feel like you are in Italy! We shall try outside dining the next time we are there during those seasons as long as the heat and humidity of our city don't prevail! BRAVO Iozzo's!!! Osso Buco was outstanding and our birthday friend had the lobster ravoli...superb."

  • "Tables are close together making it snug & I am average size. Also the restaurant is always too cold inside. I decided on the Italian wedding soup which was tasty but there was literally only one tiny meatball in the entire bowl. The waitress was friendly but was somewhat forgetful. Our food tasted good but I recall it being better on previous visits. I picked the filet minon Oscar style and my guest chose the veal Parmesan. For the price I was expecting it to taste better I think. For the two of us with no appetizer or dessert we paid $84 (including tip) for the night. I most likely will not be returning. In my opinion you don't quite get what you pay for at this restaurant."

  • "Iozzo's is a wonderful restaurant that provides a nice variety of Italian dishes that are wonderfully prepared. In the half dozen times that I have dined there the food was always very good to excellent. Wine specials with house wines were always very good and the ambiance of Iozzo's is cozy whether it is in the dining area, bar area or during the better weather the patio area. The service is the only thing that exceeds the great food. When my wife and I are discussing places to eat in the downtown area of Indianapolis, Iozzo's is always on the list of options."
