Great place to go on a date or with a small group of friends. The Fallen Pear was delicious and a fun drink to share with your friends. The food menu was pretty good, but it could definitely be altered to cater to more diets (a lot of meat dishes and a very small handful of vegetarian- no vegan -dishes). The service was timely, friendly, and informative and the environment can not be beat; definitely one of the best dining and drinking experiences I've had in the city. Not to mention the hotel and view were outstanding.

I appreciated the small plates and the food was tasty. But the seating was terribly uncomfortable. The only options were high chairs at a table (horrible for a brunch where you want to sit and visit) and the couches and coffee tables were not conducive to eating a meal.

We went there to begin celebrating our engagement. The staff was absolutely amazing, greeted us with champagne and more importantly made an effort to seat us at an amazing covered booth on the patio so we can enjoy the view WHILE IT WAS RAINING! Food was amazing, the view was great! Totally recommend. Just let them know in advance that it is a special occasion. A+++

My husband surprised me for our 16th year Anniversary with an overnight stay at The Godfrey. Our experience was EXCEPTIONAL becasue of the professionalism, consideration, kindness and great services by the entire Godfrey staff: Anthony, Adela, Gentleman at Entry of IO Rooftop Restaurant, Maggie, Daniel, Ray, Stephanie, Chef Riley and the security staff was professional/pleasant. Our entire experience was excellent as well. I cannot say enough about how professional, kind, and special the wonderful and EXCELLENT Godfrey staff made us feel. The overall experience The Godfrey and staff provide to the public is EXCEPTIONAL. If you've never experienced The Godfrey, you are truly missing out on an experience you will not forget.

Loved our waitress, Asia. She was great! Her service was impeccable. Her knowledge of the menu really helped me make the perfect choice for my pallet. Her personality was very friendly and approachable. I will definitely be back!

The drinks and food are adequate, nothing special, and overpriced. This is where you go to be seen. If you don't look or dress the part, be prepared to get a look from the hosts. We went at lunch time and had an Open Table reservation so they had no choice but to seat us, however I suspect during peak times, you better look like you belong there.

My husband and I married at the court house on Saturday and booked brunch at the IO afterwards for a celebration with our friends. We were welcomed by all the staff so warmly; they were friendly, kind and thoughtful. We had a super lounge seat area first for drinks and then moved to a dining area for brunch. The ambience was relaxed, calm and refined. It is a beautifully furnished hotel and has a very classy feel to it. Our hostess was attentive, but not too much, which allowed us to enjoy our meal in a relaxed and unrushed manner. The food was delicious...think brunch tapas...and there was plenty to accommodate all tastes. We really cannot thank the staff enough for making our special day even more perfect. We will definitely be back.

Went to IO for brunch and it was a very disappointing experience. Food was not great at all...too small of a plate for brunch prices, not to mention taste wise there was absolutely nothing special about the dishes...and we tried 4 dishes...all were the same poor quality...not tasty as at...very disappointed....will definitely not order brunch there again. Interior design is nice though.

The restaurant itself has a beautiful layout. It was nice to be in there before the crowds that the night brings. The view of Chicago's River North is great from almost any seat. The brunch menu is great because it is almost all small plates, which gives you options to try many different items.

I'd been wanting to try this place all summer. Went there with an associate for lunch on a Friday afternoon and was surprised by how empty it was at 1:00. When we first arrived, it took awhile for someone to come up to seat us, and they seemed less than thrilled to be there. Once seated, however, our server was very gracious and helpful. We ordered off the shared menu; some of our selections were better than others, but overall, they were pretty good. Would like to see the individual menu expanded. This place seemed like it would be a fun place to go to on a Friday after work with a group, or late night with a date, mostly for the ambience. Cool looking décor and hotel surroundings.

We were visiting Chicago and decided to have breakfast somewhere nice with a scenic view. The view was definitely there and the place itself looks great, with very modern decor, it looks perfect for late night drinks. Breakfast on the other hand, not so much! There were only like 5 options on the menu for breakfast, nothing really to choose from and the service was very unprofessional. Once we got our food, it looked like something i just quickly made in the kitchen, no presentation whatsoever. Very disappointed with our breakfast experience.

I love the modern look of this rooftop and that it is a bit tucked away. Of the main drag of typical Michigan Ave. rooftops. If you are local you'll love this. If you have in town guests take them - they'll love it too. The view isn't as fab as others - but everything else makes up for it.

A great place to meet friends for a laid back, boozy brunch. The beef sliders, poutine, and the smoked salmon are great. Along with the lemon donuts and fruit salad with liquid nitrogen milk, any of the brunch cocktails or punch pitchers partner perfectly with the meals. Our server was attentive and tried to meet our requests at the table.

The place is very cool and the view is wonderful, the food is nothing special. Service was pretty slow and I was very annoyed when I showed up for my reservation early, but still got text message saying they were going to let my table go if I was not there within 10 minutes of the reservation. the place was empty, I'm not sure who they were going to give it too. I took a group of out of towners there for lunch, they all loved the view, but no one was impressed with their food. I'll definitely go back because it's just a very unique venue, but we'll stick to just cocktails going forward.
