  • "Had the brunch this past Sunday. Lots of original recipes. The french toast is perhaps the best I've tasted. Also, nice a-la-carte menu to assemble your own custom breakfast. My wife absolutely loved her Avocado Eggs Benedict. Great spicy (if you request) Bloody Marys. This restaurant is a nice find."

  • "Place has nice friendly gastropub vibe. Apps, especially the calamari, were very tasty. And specialty cocktails were interesting. Main courses had imagination while paying homage to the Deep South, but gotta say: I've had way better shrimp and grits. Grew up in South, so know it's not world's most delicate food but thought everything came off as a little heavy from trying too hard. Three stars on great service and nice ambience more than food."

  • "Visited Interstate on a whim the other night and was very pleasantly surprised! I had taken drinks here before but never dined in, and the food was outstanding. Rich flavors but not overwhelming. And no problem getting a seat at 8 pm on a Saturday - can't beat that!"

  • "Had tickets to a show in the area and wanted to do dinner before hand. Did a search for restaurants and Interstate Kitchen and Bar came up. I checked out the menu and there were some appealing dishes. The food was wonderful! The bass was cooked perfectly and one of the best Phillies I've had in a long time! One of the deciding factors was that I could make a reservation through Open Table and I'm so glad I did!"

  • "Excellent service, great choices, very affordable. We enjoyed the cheesesteak and the vegetarian burger. The vegetarian burger could have used a little more seasoning in the burger, but the sauces they have on the side made up for it. "

  • "Our evening at Interstate began with great expectations. It had been at least a year since dining there last, while having my first experience during their grand opening. I went hoping it would live up to those expectations. We were, however, disappointed. Our food was slow to arrive, with the adjoining tables receiving their orders before us, though they arrived significantly later than we did. I ordered the cheese steak sandwich served with fries and a side of bleu cheese potato salad. the sandwich as delicious, big chunks of tender, medium rare steak. The fries were burnt, and the potato salad was lackluster at best. My fiancé ordered mac and cheese and a salad. The salad was droning in dressing, but the mac and cheese was delicious."

  • "The sandwich was not as pictured on their website. This was the only reason we were trying it out. Instead of a double decker, it was 2 pieces of texas toast with ham,turkey,cheese in it. Not battered or fried. Outside crust was hard like they had pressed it on a grill with no oil, and then sprinkled some powdered sugar on it. Overall the place was nice, but all 3 of us ordered the Monte Cristo, and all 3 were very dissapointed."

  • "Went on Saturday night, our waitress and drinks were great, but the food fell really flat. Not much in the terms of flavor or innovation. Ordered the spoon bread which was basically scrambled eggs, not a fluffy eggy texture. Sent it back and was told that is the way it is supposed to be. OK, take it off the menu because it was gross, the eggs were a grainy watery mess. The other food was average, nothing really stood out as WOW."

  • "Everyone`s preparing and serving a Kale salad these days. The one we both had at INTERSTATE was probably the best I`ve had. It accompanied perfectly roasted salmon and beautiful , tasty butternut squash. The portions were large , the freshness outstanding and the place is pure fun. We`re going back !"

  • "We had the rib eye and turkey sandwich... Both lovely. The eggs were too mustardy for my taste but creamy and the tiny pop of caviar was nice touch. They need to filter the water for the ice they use for the whiskey... But with such a large array... It wasn't an awful thing. Going back!"

  • "What a great combo, a fun, hip neighborhood bar with very reasonably priced gourmet food offerings. Normally the relaxed neighborhood places serve up bar food, like wings and burgers. The food here was excellent. Very gourmet style pea soup , a wedge that was way over the top and wonderful Cioppino all at bar food prices. Meet a friend, have a drink and a wonderful bite to eat in a friendly place without breaking the bank. My girlfriend and I wen t this weekend and I plan to bring a 77 year old co-worker who also loves finding new places for lunch this week."

  • "We met a friend here for a quick bite and were pleasantly surprised. Our friend arrived first and wondered why there was a torn up old red bench inside. I assured her it was just in keeping with the theme of the place. She and I shared an avocado benedict which was gorgeous and delicious. My husband had the sportsman's breakfast which he said was very tasty. We will be back!"

  • "Our waitress may have been trying her best, but she was extremely unattentive. And it was my birthday dinner! She didn't check in when new friends arrived to the party, left us with empty drinks and didn't ask how everything was. One friend ended up getting all of her service from another staff member. I know we all have busy days at work and I'll forgive, but the truth is it was poor service."

  • "We enjoyed and sampled many items. The deviled eggs, the calamari with the fried okra and lemon were fantastic as was the arugula salad with preserved lemon. Our main dishes of the Monte Cristo and Veggie burger were very good also. I'm sure we visit again sometime. This time we'll be sure to try their desserts."

  • "We went Mother's Day evening because I wanted some comfort food in a relaxed setting. The place was not busy, which I don't really understand because the food was excellent, service great and prices low. I had the fresh veggie lasagna, which was presented as an unstructured mound topped with spinach and grape tomatoes. I took half of it home because the serving was generous and because we shared deviled eggs and mac and cheese to begin. (Both were yummy.) My daughter had a burger with avocado, smoked mushrooms and an egg. She is a fan. My son had the Monte Cristo sandwich with a side of chile-honey sauce. He said he'll be back with friends. My husband enjoyed the muffaletta sandwich. His sweet potato chips were amazingly light."

  • "I was looking forward to visiting and arrived at 6:30 when the crowd was just picking up. Service was great then the wheels fell off the place. Drinks didn't arrive, waiter was MIA, food undercooked, glasses breaking... No employee tried to ignore the chaos, but marched on wearing the stress like a suit of armor. It did not make for an upbeat evening. If they can tighten up service/management under duress I will revisit, until then Steuben's will be my #1."

  • "We went to the Interstate Kitchen and Bar for Easter brunch. At first we were disappointed that it was a buffet and not the menu we would be ordering from. The buffet was loaded with many excellent choices ie. made to order omeletes, shrimp, french toast, smoked salmon and a superb bar menu. The food itself was outstanding and we will be going back to eat off the menu."

  • "Based on the name it was not something that I really thought I would even consider. Sounded a little too "diner'' like to me. I was sure glad I gave it a shot though. I ate here twice and both times the food was over the top, the service was great and it was just a really good experience. Dont let the name put you off, it is a real yummy clean fun place. Not hungry? the bar is the place to be so enjoy a drink!"

  • "What a great little gem! The atmosphere was open, friendly and retro. As a wine drinker I was disappointed in the wine selection but decided to jump in and try their mixed drinks. What a great whisky menu they have! A drink for every taste! The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the lobster corn dogs, the chicken livers and the cubano sandwich! I will be coming back here again and again! The wait staff and bartender were super attentive as well."

  • "Great food and great options/selections. The macaroni and cheese was very tasty, though it needed a bit of salt. The beet salad was excellent, though just a tad overdressed for my personal tastes. The butternut squash bisque was really good - had just a little bit of heat from something too, which gave it a nice finish. The cheese steak had tons of meat - and not too fatty - with just the right amount of cheese, onions, peppers, and mushrooms. As for the drinks - great selection of 'old school' drinks mixed in with some new, and a huge selection of whiskeys! Awesome! The prices were good too, with nothing seeming overpriced for what we got. Will definitely go back."
