Opened on January 23, 2007 at 5040 Sanderlin Avenue, Interim Restaurant & Bar allows the guest to experience an open kitchen fused with the dining room to enhance the experience.
Chef Jackson Kramer's stylistic food presentation, blended with the freshest local ingredients, will allow your pallet to be piqued as the savory aromas from the Chef's preparations spill out into the dining room.
Interim's climate controlled wine room is prominently displayed, occupying the entire south wall of the restaurant.

  • "Pleasant evening dining at Interim. Waiter friendly/ efficient. Fish & Beef Tenderloin good.. highlights: caesar salad.. delicious shaved parmesan & good croutons. Pear Blossom Martini also delicious. Disappointment came with the portion sizes. The custard dessert was literally just a bit lager than the circumference of a quarter.. no kidding .. in retrospect I should have taken a picture! Looking at it half-full I will say it was delicious.. but again.. it had a wonderful fruit glaze.. maybe raspberry or strawberry but I would have liked MUCH more glaze/sauce and a LARGER portion! Same with the DELICIOUS beets! 3 or 4 paper thin slices? REALLY? I wanted MORE!! Portions of some things are really not right! WANTED MORE!"

  • "We were promptly seated at our reservation time. Ordered crab cake and mac n cheese appetizers...fabulous. Duck and Beef Tenderloin were our main courses....great. Then came the dessert....wow! We had one of each. Chef Michael Williams is elite in his craft. These desserts were amazing! It's hard to share when they taste so delicious. Highly recommended!"

  • "I immediately noticed the good atmosphere as I entered the restaurant! The choice list on the menu was too limited and entrees were fantastic, but they were too small for what it cost. Side items were limited as well. We paid $12 for a great salmon appetizer which was too small for what it cost; same goes for the dessert. We even inquired about if the dessert was big enough to split and we were told it was. We had difficulty understanding the waitress although the service was good. I would recommend it, but you have to go into it knowing you will have to splurge and spend lots of money."

  • "We attended for Sunday brunch the weekend of Mom's funeral with our out of town family. We used to take mom there for brunch often. The staff bent over backwards to make our gathering special. They set up the private room on short notice in a simple and lovely way. They also provided amazing service and delicious food (like always)."

  • "The Duck is one of Chef's favorites as well as mine. The duck was cooked perfectly on the light side of medium. Well seasoned with a fried gnocchi patty on the bottom and side. One of the party had a wonderful hamburger and the other had the pan seared redfish. Both loved their dishes. I paired the duck with a Malbec which seemed to compliment the burger and the fish. A very good adult dining experience."

  • "This is the 10th review we have given this year.....which means we really like it. We mix it up between the dining room and bar depending on our mood. There soups are really good. I had the corn and habenero ....fabulous! The tomatoe turine salad was good but overrated and overpriced. The fried oysters are so tender and juicy. We'll be back again soon."

  • "We like to mix it up...one night in the dining room and the next in the bar! The hamburgers are great. If there is a sports event you can enjoy the tv above the bar...if your In the mood for more dining style you can watch the chefs prepare the food in the more formal setting. Just fun!"

  • "During one-night stay at an East Memphis hotel, we looked for a restaurant that was open on Sunday night. Luckily, we found Interim. We shared a fabulous seared-scallop appetizer with a glass of really good Chardonnay. On advice of fellow diners, I selected one of three fish offerings – the Redfish, perfectly done and served with the most delicious couscous and spinach. Hubby chose the grilled chicken breast with potato galette and mushroom sauce, which he pronounced superb. Service was outstanding. Both the open-kitchen restaurant and the busy bar had a relaxed yet ultra-modern vibe. It made for an excellent evening."

My entree was Beef tenderloin and was tough at a medium rare temperature. Maybe a bad cut of meat? My husband's Mahi was bland. Server was friendly and attentive."

Glasses went unfilled and at one point the waitress came to the table on four occasions and failed to remove the dishes that were obviously finished. At one point we moved them to the edge of the table and still no attention to them. We will likely not go back. "

  • "Interim has a wonderful ambience, with a sophisticated, softly-lit decor and nice spacing between tables. The wait staff is professional and well-informed. The clientele is an interesting mix of older couples and young professionals, with an occasional well-behaved child thrown in. The only reason we don't go to Interim more often is that the menu is somewhat limited, and includes several items we don't eat, such as lamb and duck. I'm sure if you are inclined to those menu items that they are well-prepared, because everything we had was delicious."

My wife was very satisfied with an appetizer and I selected a red fish entrée that was prepared and presented very well.
