Opened on January 23, 2007 at 5040 Sanderlin Avenue, Interim Restaurant & Bar allows the guest to experience an open kitchen fused with the dining room to enhance the experience.
Chef Jackson Kramer's stylistic food presentation, blended with the freshest local ingredients, will allow your pallet to be piqued as the savory aromas from the Chef's preparations spill out into the dining room.
Interim's climate controlled wine room is prominently displayed, occupying the entire south wall of the restaurant.

  • "A group of four of us enjoyed dinner at Interim on Sunday night, March 30th. It was great to find a good, local, restaurant open on Sunday night. The restaurant had a number of full tables, but was not noisy. Service was excellent, beginning with the hostess that greeted us, the waiter who served us and even the efficient runner who brought our bread. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. My scallops were perfect, crusty brown exterior and tender interior. The vegetables that accompanied them were very good. Other entrees at our table were the beef tenderloin, the vegetable plate and the pork chop, each very good. Loved that post dinner coffee comes in its own press. We will definitely return."

  • "Hi, The food was great and the waitress was great aswell, but the kitchen forgot to prepare my order. My guest and myself were first in the restaurant, and to place our order, but the cooks lost the order and it took 45 mintues to receive our food. I love this restaurant, but this can never happen again. No one even told us they were sorry, but instead they seemed as nothing was wrong."

  • "I've been to Interim a few times before - but the menu has changed (and apparently the head chef as well). While the ambiance was a bit more peaceful and romantic (it's usually very vibrant - with the open kitchen and lots of filled tables), the food was the biggest surprise. From the fried oysters to the salmon and the vegetarian plate, the preparation was spot on. Usually oysters can be rubbers, but they had a moist texture on the inside and a satisfying crunch on the outside. I usually avoid salmon, since it's always prepared the same way. But I've never had salmon prepared like this before - moist and full of flavor, with small splashes of sauce that really complemented the overall experience. So much more to mention, but no room!"

  • "Our waiter did not tell us his name and did not state that he was our waiter (a waitress had taken our drink order previously--she didn't introduce herself either--we thought she was going to wait on us). I ordered a hamburger with no cheese, no tomato, and no bacon. It was served with bacon, cheese, and tomato. The waiter did not check in on us periodically. When we asked for a check, the waiter brought it, and picked it up, at his convenience. My wife thought the beef tenderloin was excellent. The hamburger was very good apart from what I said above. The French fries were terrible. The noise level was just right."

Served with very good homemade fries. Yes, Interim is a very upscale restaurant - I can't help it if the burger is so darn good! Also, great ambience. Open kitchen visible from the dining area. Good service, etc."

The Interim Burger is a great choice for something different but the Duck Breast was out of this world. A great East Memphis location. The Bar had an outstanding selection of spirits and the bartender was very attentive and made good conversation."

  • "I took my in laws here for a relaxing night out. Interim did not disappoint. We started with shortbreads and the Mac & Cheese appetizers. Both dishes were spot on. We all ordered something different for the main course and everyone loved their dish. The portions were generous and none of us had room for dessert. My in laws raved the next day about how great the meal was at Interim. I have eaten there on many occasions for business and never had a bad meal."

  • "This is a restaurant that I drove by a few times and then read some reviews that peeked my interest and so we made an early reservation for dinner before heading to the Orpheum for a show. Both my wife and I realized while sipping the best coffee in town that there was absolutely nothing we would change about any of the catagories you list. I could elaborate on each but let it suffice that everything was as close to perfect as any restaurant that I have experienced in Memphis. My wife had scallops and I oredered the fish special which was red snapper; both were presented in spectacular fashion and were prepared to perfection. Everything that reached our table was worthy of a compliment. We will return."

  • "I eat out at least 5 times a week in Memphis, and it gets a little boring and repetitive - wh're not South Beach or NYC. With that said, Interim is one of a few Memphis resturants that I never tire of frequenting. Their food is consistently above average and service is always excellant. They have a nack of seating us on time 100% of the time. The menu is very diverse and the new chef is taking his time before he starts changing a successful menu. I appreciate that a lot. I would highly reccomend that yoiu try Interim. It is definetly on my top 10 resturants in Memphis"

I had heard that the menu is limited, and it is, but the two dishes that we ordered were delicious. My wife ordered the scallops and I ordered the burger. I had heard multiple people rave about the burger and I wasn't let down. My wife was in scallop bliss."

  • "Disappointed! Interim had been one of our favorite restaurants. However, tonight's dining experience was below what we have come to expect. Menu was very limited. Food was good, but not note worthy. Service was definitely off! When asked if there were nuts in the bread the server recommended we not eat it if we have nut allergies, but she did not offer an alternative. Later we asked if they had baguettes or sour dough and she said yes and produced some toasted baguette slices. The red wines by the glass, Desert Wind and a Cab- Franc, were noticeable flat, too cool, and slightly off-note. It will be a while before we give Interim another shot."
