The food, from the apps to the incredible desserts (those doughnuts and cake in a cage, OMG!!!), was outstanding. My rib steak, while a little bit smaller than what I've had at Blackstones (which was actually fine with me), was the most tender one I've had in a long time. It cut like butter. Sides were outstanding, too (hash browns, creamed spinach, mac n cheese). Service was great (very warm, friendly and competent). Manager came over to ask how things were and was also very warm and welcoming. It was loud but not too bad. The I-Pad thing for the drinks was a bit silly - just give me a menu, please. Great atmosphere, and yet another delicious meal from Insignia. Everything from sushi to dessert was excellent. The attentive bartenders and wait staff do a superb job of making you feel comfortable and welcome. We were even greeted by one of the owners at our table, which added a nice, personal touch to our evening. For the price we paid we got a great amount of food, so much that we didn't even realize how much soup would come in a $14 bowl- so we ordered 2 of them only to take home an entire quart! the portions are very generous. At the end, our server surprised us with an entire platter of FULL portions of cheesecake, mousse cake, 2 fresh-baked donuts with a sparkler as a candle. The only thing that would have made it perfect is a water view.
The service staff Rob and Tom were outstanding. The wine list- well they give it to you on an ipad-enough said. Save room for desert and do not skip the fresh doughnuts- so good wished they were open for breakfast.
This place is normally packed especially on weekends but well worth your time and effort to go experience this place. Service is French style meaning you get served by a team responsible for all the different aspects of your meal. Service was above average both times. My wife and I both had fish dishes that were comprised of fresh fish with very mundane accompaniments. I would be happy to eat here regularly if the exorbitant price was commensurate with the creativity of the food. I can't speak for the meat dishes so they may be awesome. Dessert was a standout, it seemed like all their energy went into the dessert menu. Insignia had a nice vibe to it, not too quiet & not too noisy. we wanted specific seafood from their tower & they accomodated us. The porterhouse for two was cooked to perfection & the sides were plentiful. Serveres were very knowledgeable & pleasant. The sommelier was very helpful & I never felt like he was try to push an over priced wine on me.
