Diner Reviews
  • "Since starting a new job in the neighborhood nearly two years ago, I often bring friends to dine at Inside Park. I've gone for drinks, dinner, lunch, working lunches, and always felt comfortable and well taken care of. This visit left us flat. Our waiter was icy and disinterested, he never smiled once, he disappeared for at least 30 minutes, and we had to ask someone to find him after the people who sat down next to us got their food and drinks and were leaving before our waiter ever came over to ask us how we were doing or let us know where our food was.Actually, he never came over to ask us that. The food was delivered by someone else, and the next time we saw him was when he dropped off the check. He didn't even offer coffee or tea."

  • "Great value outdoor dining on Park Avenue. The portions are small but the food is excellent. I would not hesitate recommending this restaurant."

  • "ordered special--swordfish and sole. Rarely do swordfish in erstaurants because almost invariably overcooked--but this was exquisite, moist and along with sole and spinach, elegantly presented. Coffee could have been warmer and stronger"

  • "Best Crab Cake ever. I grew up catching and picking crabs for crab cakes and these were excellent. Friends had the Lobster Roll and the Chicken and both siad they were very good. This was my first time eating here and plan to come back."

  • "went to lunch with a friend around 2:00. it was during the week so it wasn't too busy. waiter was VERY friendly. awesome service. the food was average. nothing special. clean bathroom. it is outdoor but doesn't have an amazing view or anything. there is a tv at the bar. great for after work drinks."

  • "My first time but not my last time here! Have been dying to go for years and finally made it on a brilliant Saturday afternoon. Food was really good. Service was spot on. Just an overall good experience. Will be back again and while I don't want it too busy, anyone visiting our great city should check on this place."

  • "A but pricey and limited menu, but a different and quiet spot for a business lunch."

  • "Great place to lunch on a nice summer weekday. There were a lot of people dining the day I went so service was okay."

  • "They could use a few more umbrellas for shade. The food was good and service was just fine."

  • "The food was awful as was the service. We felt ignored (filled our own waters, asked repeatedly for set ups) and that the wait staff was put out by our presence. Awful service, and the food we ordered was horrible. "

  • "The food and atmosphere can't be beat! The good part is that you never feel rushed to leave the table. However, you MUST leave well over an hour for lunch here, and the service tends to be slow."

  • "If you're looking for a spot that is quiet enough for conversation and good enough to satisfy your hunger, Inside Park is the spot for a great lunch. "

  • "Enjoyed lunch with friends at Inside Park at St. Bart's. Not my first visit, but it was my first time sitting outside and enjoying the patio. Food was really good. Unfortunately, service was not. We had to constantly look for the waitress for assistance and then finally for the bill."

  • "We recently celebrated my daughters Graduation from Law school with Lunch outdoors at IP2SB's Superior Overall! Efficient yet not Intrusive Service! All the food was fresh and Home Made Delicious! Set up a bit above the Hussle and Busssle on NYC side walk yet not so far removed from the city scene as in A Roof Top! It would be a nice spot for an outdoor drink after work, an alternative to the Sub-standard pubs in the area near Grand Central, great place to meet before or after boarding a train! We had the cheese burger Steak sandwich chicken ceasar salad, and The Mahi Mahi fish special not a crumb was left on anyones plate! The olive plate and rissotto Balls were plenty to share for the table ! Would have given 6 stars if I could!"

  • "Once again we had a great lunch at Inside Park at St. Bart's. The food is consistently excellent, the service attentive but not overpowering. I'd recommend it for lunch to anyone who is just interested in good food and a relaxing atmosphere."

  • "Been there many times and love the outdoor ambience right on Park Avenue. Roughly 3 hours before dinner, I received a voice mail that the place was closed for a private party. Mildly annoying as late notice: we were looking forward to dining alfresco. When I got home and to my email to make a different Opentable res, I was unable to do so, as the restaurant had not cancelled my reservation, and it was too late for me to cancel it myself. That ticked me off. In the scheme of life, no big deal at all, but since you asked..."

  • "The night that my friend and I went to Inside Park at St. Bart's was not too cold so we choose to sit outside to have our dinner. We had the red snapper special. It was very good. The place was hopping and had a very good vibe. Service was good."

  • "Easter brunch there was a bust. They were running behind so we had to wait at least 20 minutes for our inside reservation. We agreed to sit outside even though a was a bit cold. The heaters were insanely noisey. It took forever to get weak coffee. When the food finally came, it was not very good and ice cold. A total disappointment. We could have gotten better waffles in a diner. Even the orange juice wasn't good. The general manager and staff were lovely and trying to help, but it was just simply, a disaster. "

  • "After attending Easter Sunday service at St. Barts, Inside Park was an easy decision for Brunch due to the location, and the fact that they had a kids' menu for our group of 6 kids and 4 adults. Despite a 12:30 reservation or food did not arrive until after 2pm. Our waitress went MIA for longer than I kept track of. She told us several times that the food would be out in just a minute. She said she would speak to the manager, but nothing came of it. Once the food arrived it was delicious but lukewarm."

  • "Went for a nice Easter brunch with friends. The food was great, and we arrived around 12 before things picked up. Would recommend for anyone who's looking for a quiet brunch place nearby local hotspots like Grand Central."

  • "The food that came was good but the service was mediocre. We sat outside and were given a table that lost the sun halfway through the meal. The place was only about 10% busy so I would have expected them to be aware of this and place people accordingly. We ordered the brunch menu and had to remind them to bring the toast etc. they completely forget to bring us the selection of pastries. When we pointed this out, they initially offered us some to take with us as we were leaving and when we declined, they took 10% off the bill. Chef can cook but manager and serving staff might need to take a course."

  • "Whenever we travel to New York, we always had our first meal here because it was close to our hotel. It's always been good...not outstanding, but decent and in a unique location. However, this time we could not even stay. They had music playing so loud we couldn't hear each other. The hostess apologized, but did not offer to do anything about it. We got up and left. I am not exaggerating when I say how loud it was. We almost had to yell to be heard. Most uncomfortable."

  • "This was my first time at Inside Park at St. Bart's and will not be my last. They were very accommodating with my food allergy and I just loved the feeling of being outside but without the elements of the weather or insects. It was very bright inside, good music, and the food and desserts were delicious."

  • "Might be a nice spot to sit outdoors in warm weather for a drink and casual nibbles, but the inside space feels like a dusty church, and the food was sub-par."

  • "Inside Park is one of the most lovely restaurants we have visited in NY. The food is delicious and the service so attentive, discreet but at the same time friendly. I have been as part of a large group who then visited the incredible free Thursday lunchtime musical performances at the church. I have been with friends, I have taken family and I most recently taken my 11 year old son. Every time it has been a great experience and I have been happy to return. Frequented by business people, ladies who lunch and young couples on office dates - it has cosy booths or central tables. Beautiful architecture. A divine experience."

  • "My friend and I went on a Wednesday which turned out to be the appetizer evening. Loved our waitress and the booth but wish the appetizer menu was a little more interesting. Shrimp and dumplings ok. the Charcuterie was a bit heavy tasting. Not as fresh as I'd have liked it to be even tho it was dried. The Shomyo Buddist Priests were performing in the Church. Would have preferred a real dinner and was surprised the restaurant hadn't coordinated with the evening because the church was packed. How funit would have been to start with an Asian fusion dinner menu."

  • "One of the more reasonable spots for lunch on Park Ave midtown. Plenty of capacity. Food is great quality and the price point makes it an option to eating at your desk. Staff was very tough to flag down to order and eventually pay. Overall, it is solid choice for lunch."

  • "This is a charming place. Formerly the auditorium of St. Bart's, now run as a restaurant by an outside proprietor, the place is huge and the tables are far apart -- a great luxury of space in midtown dining. I took a client there for lunch during a freezing cold winter's week, and we had a very late lunch, so my comments may not apply at other times. Helpful and pleasant service. Charmingly unadorned space...pleasant waitstaff...and the food was surprisingly tasty. Do try their crisp and wonderful homemade potato chips. The pastrami and cheese was great. Inexpensive, comfortable, with interesting food choices, well made. And, at least when we were there, really quiet ."
