Diner Reviews
  • "Whenever we travel to New York, we always had our first meal here because it was close to our hotel. It's always been good...not outstanding, but decent and in a unique location. However, this time we could not even stay. They had music playing so loud we couldn't hear each other. The hostess apologized, but did not offer to do anything about it. We got up and left. I am not exaggerating when I say how loud it was. We almost had to yell to be heard. Most uncomfortable."

  • "This was my first time at Inside Park at St. Bart's and will not be my last. They were very accommodating with my food allergy and I just loved the feeling of being outside but without the elements of the weather or insects. It was very bright inside, good music, and the food and desserts were delicious."

  • "Might be a nice spot to sit outdoors in warm weather for a drink and casual nibbles, but the inside space feels like a dusty church, and the food was sub-par."

  • "Inside Park is one of the most lovely restaurants we have visited in NY. The food is delicious and the service so attentive, discreet but at the same time friendly. I have been as part of a large group who then visited the incredible free Thursday lunchtime musical performances at the church. I have been with friends, I have taken family and I most recently taken my 11 year old son. Every time it has been a great experience and I have been happy to return. Frequented by business people, ladies who lunch and young couples on office dates - it has cosy booths or central tables. Beautiful architecture. A divine experience."

  • "My friend and I went on a Wednesday which turned out to be the appetizer evening. Loved our waitress and the booth but wish the appetizer menu was a little more interesting. Shrimp and dumplings ok. the Charcuterie was a bit heavy tasting. Not as fresh as I'd have liked it to be even tho it was dried. The Shomyo Buddist Priests were performing in the Church. Would have preferred a real dinner and was surprised the restaurant hadn't coordinated with the evening because the church was packed. How funit would have been to start with an Asian fusion dinner menu."

  • "One of the more reasonable spots for lunch on Park Ave midtown. Plenty of capacity. Food is great quality and the price point makes it an option to eating at your desk. Staff was very tough to flag down to order and eventually pay. Overall, it is solid choice for lunch."

  • "This is a charming place. Formerly the auditorium of St. Bart's, now run as a restaurant by an outside proprietor, the place is huge and the tables are far apart -- a great luxury of space in midtown dining. I took a client there for lunch during a freezing cold winter's week, and we had a very late lunch, so my comments may not apply at other times. Helpful and pleasant service. Charmingly unadorned space...pleasant waitstaff...and the food was surprisingly tasty. Do try their crisp and wonderful homemade potato chips. The pastrami and cheese was great. Inexpensive, comfortable, with interesting food choices, well made. And, at least when we were there, really quiet ."

  • "Thought that it was perfect for an informal business lunch. Quite and tables far enough from each other to avoid being overheard. Corteuous staff and solid (if simple) food."

  • "My wife and I were in the city for the day and had lunch at St Bart's. Our son joined us and all three of us were pleased with the food and service. Nice selection of salads, sandwiches and some entrees. The onion soup was excellent, my wife raved about her sandwich and salad and my pastrami sandwich was very tasty and the just right portion. As it was a cold winter day, we ate inside but they also have outdoor tables in better weather. St. Bart's is worth trying - don't think you would be disappointed."

  • "I was really disappointed with St Bart's. I will never go back!! The food was terrible, and the atmosphere was dark and depressing- Too many great restaurants to go to... Don't waste your time or $$$! And to top it off it was expensive! The only thing it's got , is a great Location.."

  • "The patio is covered in the winter. The ambiance is much better in the summer. This is an adaquate place for a buisness lunch. The food is good, not great, but decent. We sat outside in the covered area. It was really cold out there. I recomend sitting inside during the winter. Service was very slow. Our waiter never came back after the food was delivered. No one refilled our drinks. The hostess cleared our plates. We had to ask someone to get our check. It was OK for a business lunch, but not great."

  • "This gem of a restaurant is great for outdoor dining in spring summer & fall. The food is well prepared and tasty and the ambience is fantastic. The burgers are first rate and the fries top notch. I also recommend their caprese salad - fresh mozzarella and scrumpuous tomatoes!!"

  • "My husband and I had lunch the day before Thanksgiving. The food is always delicious, but we were pleasantly surprised because it was quiet! Most people were not dining out that day, so the noise level was really quite pleasant. We had my husband's service dog along - no one said anything negative, but she clearly made the wait staff uncomfortable, even though she quietly sat under the table the entire time. We would gladly eat there again."

  • "Our family of four was in NYC for Thanksgiving and had a reservation for 6:45 at Inside Park. restaurant before, but it was When we arrived there were not a lot of diners, perhaps the afternoon service had been busier. There was a set Thanksgiving menu for $65. Our waitress was nice, but after our food was served, noone came around to see how everything was. We were served small slices of white meat turkey and a huge drumstick on each plate, surrounded by a pile of mixture of potatoes, dressing and vegetables and no gravy. The meat on the drumsticks was very pink and was undercooked. The food was not hot and had no flavor. None of us were able to eat much of the food."

  • "This is probably nicer in the spring. The patio is covered, so it's not a very pretty setting. The food was fine, nothing great, but it works for a place to go for a work lunch. The food is a little pricey for what you get."

  • "Lunch this week was nice. Its obviously a hot spot for the surrounding office buildings as most the diners were professionals having casual business lunches. Service was very good. The watermelon gazpacho with feta crumbles was outstanding. The crab cake had too much filler and not enough crab. The salads looked okay. This isn't a bad place, its good, but not someplace that I would have to return."
