A word from Inn on the Twenty
On The Twenty was envisioned as a place where Niagara's food and wine bounty could be presented in an innovative and inspiring way. We aim to deliver freshness and sophistication to meals that will harmonize well with the wines of Cave Spring and its colleagues in this unique wine region. Where possible, we focus on fresh regional produce that our neighbours grow here in Niagara. Our location was decided on by Leonard Pennachetti who, when looking for a building with a great cellar, happened upon the old Jordan Wines building. The building in which the restaurant is located dates back to the 1830s. The addition of the terrace, restaurant, meeting space, gardens, and many retail boutiques have totally changed the character of both the building and this end of historic Jordan Village. All in all, Jordan Village makes a great destination for a day trip, special event, or a romantic getaway. It is our privilege to enjoy Jordan everyday, we would love to share it with you.Continued

  • "We keep returning time and time again, for the wonderful cuisine, service, ambiance and food! Our whole family agrees that it is the best place to share a lovely meal, whether we are two or ten. Love the place, and how genuinely friendly the whole staff are."

  • "Been many times since this restaurant opened, only rarely for lunch. The 2012 reserve Chard from Cave Springs works. I ordered the 3 course special, started with the apple-parsnip soup. Upon our request, the kitchen split one order in two small bowls - very good. I had the trout, cooked perfectly, and the accompanying starch and veggies were a tasty treat, well suited to the fish and not overpowering. Partner had the scallops, and she was very impressed. I had the lime cheesecake dessert wrapped up to take home - wife said it was fantastic. All the staff were great. The friendly demeanor and hospitality of the bar tender/server when I arrived was outstanding and set the tone for the rest of the lunch. On the Twenty needs to keep that guy."

  • "Had a lovely lunch with my husband who was off work on holidays. One would have thought that a Tuesday would be a slow day for most restaurants but On the Twenty was busy, so we didn't feel we were sitting alone in an empty dining room. The service was attentive and the food was really good. We will return!"

  • "We drove to Jordan in the terrible snowstorm on our way to Niagara on the Lake. We were greeted warmly and had the restaurant to ourselves and had a wonderful lunch watching the snow swirl around outside. Just a great respite from the winter weather. The food was marvelous."

  • "Our go to place when we visit the Niagara area for a special occasion. The ambience is always excellent, the food superb and Don Dyson and his staff some of the most knowledgeable and professional in the business. In our opinion there is no finer restaurant in the Niagara Peninsula and ranks among our top10 ever list."

  • "We had an 8 course tasting menu, and the accompanying flights of wine. Most of the food was excellent. Most dishes had great contrast in texture, and balance of flavour. Having said that, the Arctic Char Sashimi course was a bit under seasoned. A touch of salt and a bit of acid would have gone a long way. The Foie Gras appetizer was outstanding. It was accompanied by crushed pralines for texture, which added a wonderful crunch instead of the same old, same old, toasts. The only two week points in our meal was the Granita which was watery, tasteless, and lacked the necessary acid to be a pallet cleanser. The other disappointment was the Chocolate Tart and Raspberry Sorbet dessert. It was good, but not worthy of such a spectacular meal."

  • "We had a great romantic dinner at Inn on the Twenty. Was such a contrast with another recent night out at a similar price point. The ambiance was lovely, the server was attentive, fun but not intrusive. The food was delicious. We tried two appetizers (tuna and shrimp) and two mains (beef and quail), one from the special menu that evening. Great presentation, great flavor. Would go back in a heart beat. Only thing I would do to make it better is increase the lighting around the parking lot signs - we had a little trouble finding our way in."

  • "The food here was pricy but quite good. The only downside was our server. She was a bit slow bringing things to the table and taking our orders, but the real kicker was when she chastised a busboy in front of us for bringing us something we'd asked him for. Stay classy, lady!"

  • "Beautiful view at this restaurant. It was very quiet when we dined at Inn on the Twenty. Our server was very attentive and knew the menu well. This restaurant is partnered with Cave Springs, and all the By The Glass wines are Cave Springs. Their Gewurztraminer was awesome. Everything we ordered was yummy, came promptly, and was lovely to look at. It was neat that you could also purchase wine to take home at the restaurant. The little "main street", Jordan Village, was really cute and had a bunch of really nice shops to check out."

  • "Even on a cold, late December afternoon, On the Twenty was warm and welcoming with great food and wine and attentive and friendly staff."

  • "This winery restaurant is consistently good. We try to stop at it for a "treat" lunch whenever we are in the area. It is also good value at lunchtime. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon special ($17). However we thought the seasonal menu lacked inspiration, especially compared to other nearby (within 20 miles) winery restaurants. The restaurant was not busy on December 19th which surprised us."

  • "I had the opportunity of taking myself and a co-worker to the Inn on the Twenty the day before a business meeting with a similar organization in Niagara. When we checked out accommodation options, I had always wanted to stay at the Inn but was not sure if our not-for-profit budget could afford it, but was pleasantly surprised at the low season rate. Even more surprising was that the rate included a fabulous breakfast. We had a wonderful diner at the restaurant and then enjoyed a quite evening sipping local wine. Cave Springs Wine Shop has some hidden treasures like oak barrel candle holders. I also enjoyed the robes so much that I bought one to bring home! We would totally recommend Jordan for any travelers!"

  • "Every year four of us take our annual Christmas trip out to On The Twenty for lunch. It is always excellent. Service is great, food is fantastic, and we enjoy the lovely view of the vineyard. Afterwards we do some Christmas shopping in the shop next door. Wines are well priced and the shop has a variety of lovely gift items for family and friends. It is well worth the drive from Toronto and we will do it again next year. Highly recommend the experience to everyone."

  • "This was a lovely place for an intimate lunch with close friends, relaxing yet elegant. The food was outstanding. I had the lamb pot pie and it was full of meat, lovely root vegetables and a delicious puff pastry top. Paired with the soup of the day, a potato/leek puree, this was a very filling and enjoyable meal. My husband chose the daily special of salmon served over a shrimp risotto, which he said was excellent, and again very filling. This restaurant is a real gem, and a place we look forward to going back to again and again."

  • "My husband and I recently had ouranniversary lunch the Inn on The Twenty. Right from the start the service was excellent. s. The food was all very good indeed, the housemade bread was a welcome touch. The Pan seared scallops were delicious, although the portion was quite small. I love that on Sunday, eggs benedict or eggs florentine are always available and excellent, too ! Disappointingly, the creme brulee, my favourite, contained white chocolate. I thought that would not go well, but our server convinced me to try it and it was delicious. The housemade biscotti also delicious. It was a pleasant lunch and excellent value, too. We'll be back again soon and have recommended it to friends and colleagues."

  • "We had a good dinner at Inn on the Twenty, although they had run out of the beef filet, and it took 45 minutes for our dinner to arrive after ordering (We were a group of 4). Food was delicious. Scallops were enormous. There was a large party off in a side room - this may have caused some delay in the arrival of our food? Lovely "formal" dining room, although as it was Nov., we could not enjoy the view or patio, which seemed like they would be inviting. There were young children at another table, and this was not inappropriate. Typically pricey Niagara entrees."

  • "Inn on the 20 is a gem. We continue to return. Everything tastes incredibly fresh. We begin with a deconstructed beet salad which I eat slowly to prolong the flavours as there are candied nuts, cheese, chickpeas and 3 different kinds of beets. It is scrumptious. My husband's salad, the special, also looks and tastes amazing it is a shredded turkey , cornbread cranberry combination - a very interesting take on thanksgiving. We both follow with duck breast in plum compote and pumpkin spaezle, once again the combination of flavours , is astounding. Finishing with 12 layer chocolate - praline cake and we are well sated. Lovely. We will be back. It is no surprise my son proposed to his girlfriend here 7 years ago!"

  • "After seeing a play at the Shaw Festival, or on your way to Niagara Falls, or really for any reason, make plans to have a meal at the Restaurant at the Inn on the Twenty. It is owned by Cave Springs winery. The view from the dining room is lovely, the food was excellent (we all had fish, quinoa salad and 10 layer chocolate cake), the Cave Springs Sauvignon Blanc was delicious and the service was very good."

  • "A great place, almost unheard of. It came recommended and it met every need. Very few expectations when driving to the place, however, when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is beautiful located on a picturesque street overlooking the valley. The service is excellent and the food absolutely amazing. The staff are very polite and accommodating and they ensure that you are well looked after. A definite repeat visit is on the cards and a must if you are in the area."

  • "An open, relaxing environment with a great table for 4 by the window. Two members of our group had the burger/fries which were outstanding. The other two had the luncheon special which represented good value. A bonus being able to sample several wines from Cave Spring next door and visit several unique shops in the immediate area."
