ink.Ink ReviewThe most delicious, inventive and interesting food I have ever had. Overall, a very memorable experience. The egg yolk gnocchi is incredible. This was my second time there, and I'll definitely go back for thirds. Great for a special occasion.6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMexceptionalTook my husband for Father's Day-- great service and the food was beyond-words good. Even when they made a small mistake on our order, they didn't skip a beat in correcting it in the most friendly and efficient way. A favorite of ours for sure!6/16/2013 12:00:00 AMperpetualbloomerwe have dined here several times. Each tasting is superior to the last visit!
It has a little too much noise though and we would enjoy the comestables more with less vibration noise. May need more acoustic support. Some fabric on the walls would help. In the meantime we are greatly enjoying the food with earplugs.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMInk was DeliciousWe had a great time at Ink. The food was fantastic, the drinks were special, and the company was great. The server was a little overbearing, and the prices were a bit much, but I thought it was fantastic and would definitely go again.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and accessibleGreat restaurant with really interesting vision for their food. The combination of ingredients and flavor profiles in every dish made for a really great meal. Our waiter Mikail was very nice and extremely knowledgeable with his recommendations. I highly recommend the steak tartare and the mountain yam dessert. Delicious!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely fit for foodiesPortions are small for the entrees and large for appetizer dishes. Definitely a better place to go in groups so you can share and sample the menu, especially with the menu offering around 20 or so items. Cocktails are delicious but on the pricier range but this is a place to splurge so drink up and eat up and enjoy life!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAll it was made up to be and more..We profited from the fact that we were a group of 5, and sampled at least 15 of the dishes on the menu. Highlights included the tartar with horseradish dust, the branzino and the greek yogurt with elderflower dessert. Every dish unique, flavourful and a delight. Don't know when I'll be be back - but hope it's soon!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Restaurant in Los AngelesI've been serveral times and have had such a wonderful experience each time. Every dish is absolutely delicious. I definitely recommend the egg yolk gnocchi as it is one of my favorite dishes at ink. The coffee makes for a great after dinner treat.
One thing that will not be lacking is the outstanding service.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMInk is one of the few LA restaurantInk is one of the few LA restaurants that I would classify as catering to Foodies. Went there last week for dinner. Had several dishes at our table and all were incredible.
Service was great, knowledgable, and attentive.
Will definitely go back.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentRecommend - the duck, little gems, apple. Excellent cocktails. A totally different food experience. Hands down, one of the best restaurants in LA.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFinally tried Ink and loved it!After 2 friends highly recommended it, we gave Ink a try and we weren't disappointed! The food was delicious and the presentations were practically works of art. The hamachi came looking like and underwater sea scape. Everything was delicious. We enjoyed the corn, avacado crab and egg yolk gnocchi. The cocktails are really inventive and delicious too. The waitress was super nice.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the bestThe innovative culinary creations and the knowledgeable dedicated service makes this place on of the best in LA.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMwe enjoyed the food very much.we enjoyed the food very much. Portions were generous even though server suggested more orders per person. Definitely will re-visit.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMInk vs Volt.....I have now been to both Ink, Michael Voltaggio west coast gem, and Volt, Brian Voltaggio east coast little piece of heaven. Ink is LA chic. The food is all you can ask for. Michael takes local fresh ingredients and makes them pop with flavor and creativity that is hard to imagine. The service was good and very knowledgeable but seemed a little frantic throughout the night however it in now way affected our meal. The oysters with mignonette ice was one of the best courses I have ever had and the mountain yam desert was the best desert I have ever had. Final decision if you are in LA, Ink is a must but if you are in the Baltimore/DC area a trip to Volt should not be missed.5/29/2013 12:00:00 AMAMAZING FOODFood was amazing! Loved the mignonette oysters, dungeness crab and squid. Absolutely delicious!!! and lovely attentive servers too5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Dining Experience in LAThis was my first time at Ink and It won't be my last! The staff was well trained and attentive to every need which started when I made the reservation! The space itself is inviting and romantic but the food is the most notable part of the experience! My friend and I tried several menu items including the asparagus, corn, cuttlefish and charcoal potatoes which were all fabulous! We topped it all off with the chocolate Nutella dessert and were not disappointed! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a truly wonderful dining experience!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were looking forward toWe were looking forward to trying Chef Voltaggio's menu, and we were not disappointed. A great deal of throught and creativity went into each item.
The only suggestion I would have is to add some more accessible items to the menu, as boring as that sounds. Not everyone in our group was pleased with some of the more exotic items.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingVery impressive meal at ink. Meticulous care with ingredients, innovative techniques without being gimmicky, and flawless, I mean flawless, execution. Beautiful, delicious, interesting food. A delightful experience. Among the best L.A. has to offer.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWow...amazing dinner experience.Voltaggio is a genius. Ive been to many fine dining restaurants and his dishes takes you to another level. There are some dishes that i believe stands out more than others like the avocado and the gnocchi. But, overall its a must for everyone who would like to be amazed.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable experienceInk is fantastic with eclectic and delectable dishes to please the most discriminating foodie!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMCompletely Different!Excellent experience! Funky place with a funky menu that works! Drinks are great, food is great and the service matched. Definitely worth a look!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAWESOME!!!I dined at ink. a few weeks ago and flew back to LA from Chicago to eat there again. It was well worth the trip. My favorite dishes last time were the octopus with ink. shells, the branzino, and the hibiscus dessert. This time, the cuttlefish and apple dessert with burnt wood semifreddo were standouts - delicious! The drinks are fantastic (esp. the aquavit). Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall a great dining experience. Seeing Chef Voltaggio in the kitchen was a great perk!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding - the best in LA!The best meal I've had in year. The food was delicious and innovative. The oysters and stake tartar were my favorites but everything was amazing. I wish I could eat those oysters every night!! I think this is by far the best restaurant in Los Angles.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMExcite your taste buds! The food is over the top! Fresh, clean flavors that makes you want to eat more and more!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA vibrant exploration of taste.A vibrant exploration of taste. Food is not only beautiful but thoughtfully put together for amazing flavor combinations!!! Bravo !5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMmild flavors, composed foodI was not blown away as I expected to be and could not get over the cold burratta. I found the flavors a little too mild. However, that said - its definitly a special occasion restaurant, great service and good food. Feels like ti deserves a second chance for sure.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ProfessionalsUnsurprisingly, at ink. you really do feel like you're on Top Chef. The portions are perfect, the food is almost too beautiful to eat, and the service is impeccable. My family was there for a special occasion, and everything came together perfectly. Tip: reserve early, so as to ensure quick serving and a spot in the restaurant.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMfun but not a repeat visitorParty of 3 girls. Food was interesting and good as expected. Ambiance ok. Service could be improved but overall no big mishaps.
Expected to be WOWed with the food. Had fun and really enjoyed the food - just wouldn't think of returning. Nothing made us say "we have to come back to try this and that"5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love this place and findWe love this place and find new, amazing dishes on each visit!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat serviceThe wait staff were courteous. and even provided a ladies' menu as requested on Opentable5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutsatnding and creative! Both food and service were outstanding. Best meal in a long time. Very happy I finally get to try INK!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMroom was nearly empty so weroom was nearly empty so we had great service and the food was delicious! good time by all and will return for sure!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMSpectacular as alwaysGreat food, great drinks, perfect for a celebration.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat for celebration4 of us went for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. The chef and owner won top chef and was there working and greating his guests. He as warm and friendly. Everyone who worked there was also the ame. They were warm, friemdly.knowledgable. john our waiter was exuberant about describing the food but the servers who delivered th dishes also took a moment to describe the dishes as each tapa was uniquely made. We spent 3 hours tasting food.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodYes, just Food. Or, alternatively, Drink. Ink likes to keep things simple when assigning names to its dishes and drinks. The outstanding Bourbon cocktail (with Campari, Cocchi Americano Rosa, chocolate bitters and strawberry lambic) was a highlight, as were several of the dishes we ordered - notably the aspagus, lamb's neck and octopus. The suckling pig was a bit too rich and the hamachi was fine but not especially memorable. The Handsome coffee had a cool, "Breaking Bad" style presentation (much like Intelligentsia used to do), but the result was a rather thin cup - though it did serve as a nice accompaniment to our terrific shared dessert, the wild mountain yam (deliciously smooth and custardy) with vanilla ice cream and coconut sorbet.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd time thereService and hospitality is excellent.
Avocado is awesome.
Suckling Pig-not so much.
Pricey,
Dont come starving.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMCuttlefish that seems like PastaThis trendy hotspot had fabulous food. The most memorable was the surprisingly the cuttlefish. I could have sworn this was a pasta dish. Other favorites include the egg yolk gnocchi, the lollipop kale (w/ pigs ear), corn and branzino. I also loved the suckling pig and short ribs. The small plates make it possible to try lots of things!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious, creative foodInk is hands down one of my favorite restaurants to dine at in la. Every dish here is creative and presented beautifully. The flavors for each dish complement each other really nicely. Not a single thing on here is bad. I've tried every food item on the menu except for 5 dishes and my favorites are still the beef tartare, lollipop kale, lamb neck, and apple dessert. For drinks, The cocktail menu is tasty and exciting. Gabby is a wonderful mixologist!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOur favorite dishes were theOur favorite dishes were the duck rillette, cottage toast, suckling pig & the corn chips. we also loved the nuttella sponge dessert & appreciated the birthday wishes & candle.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA must for Top Chef fansThis was such a great experience for my girlfriend and I. She is a huge Top Chef fan. I surprised her with a trip to Ink. When she saw Chef Michael Voltaggio, she could not contain her excitement. The food was amazing and priced very well. The service was excellent and the waitress took the time to answer all the questions we had. She was very knowledge about how the food was prepared and what ingredients went into each dish. We were there for dinner on a Tuesday night and the place was packed. I would go back with out a doubt.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food. Really greatExcellent food. Really great service. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFantasticInk is great-creative small plates, great service, well-designed space. Would definitely come here again. I was part of a group of 5 and we shared plates all around. The standout items for me were the egg-yolk gnocchi, the kale lollipops, beef tartare and the smoky apple dessert.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMdefinitely worth a tryMy husband and I had the oysters, asparagus, egg yolk gnocchi, black cod, the apple dessert & a glass of wine each. The bill was $120.
The oysters & apple dessert were fantastic, amazing and worth driving across town for.
The black cod was as it usually is - very yummy - and the accompanying vegetables were great. The asparagus was good at first but it's impossible to eat before the whole thing becomes a melted mess. Kind of silly. The egg yolk gnocchi flavor were good but the texture was chewy, gummy. Not nice. Even at these prices we both left a bit of the asparagus and gnocchi dishes unfinished on our plates.
Service was wonderful. I would go back to try some other dishes and to eat those oysters and apple dessert again.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMModern food, fun atmosphere, priceyModern preparations that are delightfully adventurous for the casual diner; sophisticated yet laid back and fun crowd; fun for a night out with friends; small plates which are great if you want to try several and share with all; can get pricey and filling though so order less than you think and then add more as you go. Definitely start with a cocktail and finish with dessert! Wine servings are generous!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe chef is not only a trueThe chef is not only a true artist, he was the most gracious host ever!4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic foodPlates are meant to be shared, which makes ordering fun. Food is over-the-top delicious. Might not be great for kids. Servers very friendly and knowledgeable.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful Food!Along with great food and great service, they were also very conscious and aware of dietary restrictions. They asked me when I made the reservation and the server checked each dish I ordered. Even the food runner knew. What a pleasant surprise!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFor adventurous foodiesThe food was so inventive yet still true to its origins and overall so delicious. My favorite dish was the cuttlefish (a play on the classic pasta dish "cacio e pepe"). Our server was excellent - very enthusiastic about the food and he guided us well on how much to order.
Highly recommend.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic. We had a hard timeFantastic. We had a hard time choosing what to order - everything sounded delicious. Will be back to try the things we didn't get to.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
