San Francisco, Calif. and New York, NY (February 20, 2001) — OpenTable, Inc. (www.opentable.com) and Fodors.com (www.fodors.com) today announced a strategic alliance that brings OpenTable’s real-time online restaurant reservations to Fodors.com, the leading full-service online travel information provider. OpenTable’s revolutionary real-time restaurant reservation engine enables Fodors.com users to make and instantly confirm dining reservations at hundreds of the best restaurants throughout the U.S. 24-hours a day without waiting on hold and without incurring long distance charges.
“The Fodors brand is synonymous with a great travel experience,” said Jeff Edwards, OpenTable’s CEO. “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to help convert ‘lookers to bookers’ at Fodors.com, and to delivering Fodors.com’s users — who include fine-dining enthusiasts and knowledgeable business and pleasure travelers — to our restaurant partners. We’re pleased that Fodors.com shares our dedication to helping people make the most of their time online.”
“Thanks to our relationship with OpenTable, our users will receive a full-service dining experience: a one-stop opportunity to view our comprehensive restaurant listings, descriptions and ratings and make free reservations online,” said Brent Peich, vice president and general manger of Fodors.com. “By adding OpenTable’s online reservation engine to our site, we continue to provide our users with a broad range of time-saving, comprehensive travel planning content and services.”
OpenTable’s online restaurant reservations services are available on the Fodors.com website beginning this month.
