AOL’s Digital City and OpenTable.com to Offer Online Restaurant Reservations

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. and VIENNA, Va. (March 16, 2000) - OpenTable.com (www.opentable.com), the leader in online restaurant reservations, and AOL’s Digital City, the nation’s leading local online network, today announced the availability of real-time restaurant reservations across the Digital City network. Under the agreement, OpenTable.com will be the preferred provider of restaurant reservations on digitalcity.com and the local channels of several AOL interactive brands, including AOL, AOL.COM, CompuServe, and Netscape Netcenter.
OpenTable.com’s real-time restaurant reservations will be accessible in the Digital City Dining and Visitor’s Guides and Digital City Reservation Center. Users will find a personalized, real-time dining reservation system, with the ability to instantly reserve open tables at fine dining establishments around the country. OpenTable.com’s restaurant reservations are currently available in eight cities, and will be enabled on more Digital City sites over the coming months.
The real-time reservations offered by OpenTable.com are one of many new dynamic and interactive services now offered on Digital City 2000, an expanded version of the popular Digital City network which was also announced today by AOL. The new Digital City 2000 captures the true essence of each city by marrying AOL’s trademark ease-of-use and convenience with tailored local content, applications and an unprecedented depth of member driven content.
