SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (April 26, 2000) — OpenTable.com (www.opentable.com)today announced two significant milestones in the nationwide expansion of their online restaurant reservation network. The company has signed contracts with a number of the nation’s leading restaurant groups in recent weeks, and is now working with more than 500 restaurants nationwide to enable them to bring the advantages of free real-time online reservations to consumers.
Last week Santa Monica’s popular Mèlisse was the 500th restaurant to join OpenTable.com’s online dining network and will soon offer consumers the convenience of real-time Internet reservations through OpenTable.com and the company’s partners’ online properties. Since then more than twenty more restaurants have signed contracts to use the OpenTable.com Electronic Reservation Book (ERB) to accept online reservations and to better manage the restaurant, improve customer service, and more easily understand, communicate with and market to their guests. Both announcements solidify OpenTable.com’s position as the leader in online reservations and Internet-enabled customer and yield management tools for restaurants.
“We are excited about welcoming such a diverse and exemplary group of restaurants to our network,” said Chuck Templeton, OpenTable.com founder and CEO. “Consistently, the finest restaurants across the country are making the decision to use OpenTable.com’s revolutionary tools to provide their customers with the best possible restaurant experience, from making a reservation to personalized service throughout the meal.
