Price is very reasonable for what you get and the overall experience has always been fantastic. This time we went on a quiet Monday night and sat upstairs for the first time which was great as it filled up as the night went on. Grilled Waternelon salad was very good - entree dragged a little bit but I think that was because I ordered the Pork Chop, which is very thick and takes some time. Really good - but even better was the roasted half chicken that comes in a big cast iron bowl. It seems to be lacquered with a soy (?) based sauce that turns it dark and it's just delicious! My husband and I were satisfied with every dish we tried. Make sure to have an open mind and have two choices ready when ordering. They make everything fresh daily and may run out of items. The decor is vintage mixed with industrial and quirky touches that add a fun dimension. The romantic upstairs houses the bar while downstairs is more energetic and better suited for groups of 3 or more. From the cocktails to the entrees...all was superb. Our dinner included white fish and hanger steak. Both starters and mains included fresh ingredients (the steak was like butter) and well prepared. Service is always attentive and friendly, food is delicious, and to top it off it's a great value for what you get. Sometimes specials are priced much higher than the menu price, so be aware of that. However, the whole Sea Bream that I had the other night was really good. The roasted half chicken served in an iron pot looked really good as well - can't wait to try next time. It was the perfect place for us to go! Great food, efficient service, and it was easy to have a conversation without yelling. Exterior understated - in fact we had to look twice to identify the establishment. Luckily we found an on street meter parking (I don't know where we could have parked otherwise). The interior was surprisingly upscale and modern. We dined on the second floor - amongst comfortable couch and arm chair seating. Servers were unobtrusive and caring. My kale salad was fabulous, my friend loved her salmon. My Manhattan was an excellent cocktail with a subtle twist. The upstairs decor is fun! - cozy, 1920s speak-easy ambience. Yes, the decor is a little mixed up but interesting. Ask for a table upstairs near a window for a more romantic spot. Downstairs looked interesting too. Service excellent, friendly, knowledgeable. I will definitely go again. The decor was almost as wonderful as the food. They offered very unique dishes and cocktails which is pretty hard to find these days. I read the favorable reviews and decided to book it. What a treat! The space is very cool. Contemporary with touches of early 20th century Americana. Our server was charming and very helpful. The food was delicious. I had the Duck, Duck, Goose & a bloody mary both of which were absolutely decadent. Can't wait to go back and try it for dinner. My only complaint is that they don't use the Music Center shuttle service so I needed to park my car twice. My guests were almost an hour late due to traffic - the hostess couldn't have been nicer about acoomodating us. While waiting, I had a great time at the bar upstairs. The service was excellent as the waiter made informed recommendations. All dishes we had were great - done with detail and care.
