Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent food, friendly and attentive service, fun atmosphere. The best meal we had during recent weekend trip to LA."

  • "We wound up here after failing several times to get in at Black Hogg in silverlake and I'm so glad we did. The cocktails were remarkable and the food was excellent. I was worried when it took us 5 minutes past our reservation time to park( I notified the restaurant 15 minutes prior since I had a hunch that might happen) and they were very friendly and understanding. We waited about 10 minutes for our table in the downstairs area which is rather small but that was the biggest drawback of the wait-- the servers and bartenders are happy to take care of you downstairs but it's very close quarters and a tight fit while waiting for table. The kale salad, lamb stew, strawberry shortcake & tomato & corn chowder were all delicious! Highly recommend!"

  • "Service a bit lacking, and that was during lunch when there wasn't much of a crowd. Got the DineLA menu and enjoyed my meal. So did my friend."

  • "It is rare that I find a restaurant that has great depth of flavor, and your restaurant provides that. The food was excellent, and the service was friendly and attentive."

  • "My favorite dish at the restaurant was the Radicchio salad, but the Lamb stew was fine. The dessert was insipid and uninspired. Not only was the food only OKAY, but it was so loud that I could hardly enjoy the meal or the conversation with my dinner companion."

  • "I loved the ambiance of this restaurant as soon as we walked in. The restaurant is very charmingly decorated: it is dimly lit with interesting pieces of art work, including a chandelier made of honey bear bottles. For our first course, I had the quinoa with beets and pickled persian cucumbers, and my boyfriend had the kale salad. While these sound like super health-conscous dishes, they were delicious. We also ordered a side of long purple string beans (not on DineLA menu). These were AMAZING and buttery. For entrees, we both had the lamb stew. The lamb was nice and tender, and the sauce was super savory. The portion looks small but it is still very filling. I was not blown away by the buttermilk biscuit with strawberry dessert."

  • "Ahhhhmazingly good food. I had the vegetarian risotto and it was great. Quinoa salad blew my mind."

  • "The restaurant was nice and our server was very attentive. The drinks weren't as good as I expected them to be - Happy Hour was very limited. Ordered the dineLA menu: Kale Salad (very good), 1/2 game hen (lacked flavor and was dry), peanut butter chocolate cake w/ marshmallows (too sweet and it was difficult to eat the way it was served). I won't be returning anytime soon."

  • "I went with a group of coworkers. The prices were reasonable (4 of us age for $150) and the food was really spot on. We ordered the cheese and game board for an appetizer and it was a great and flavorful assortment for both. I had the Duck Confit and it was fantastic. I would definitely go there again."

  • "Service was a bit lacking but generally I can deal with that. I have no shame flagging my waiter down vs. waiting 20 mins for him to come by. Ribeye was delicious, highly rec. that and at $28 very reasonable price. Checkerboard (meat plate--akin to a cheese plate) was delicious. Industriel really knows how to pair sauces with their food. Every sauce went so well with it's pairing. Kale salad was very good--reminded me of the kale salad at Bestia. Fairly inexpensive meal at Industriel for the food quality. It's extremely loud, as in I had to yell to speak to my dinner partner. The ambiance isn't romantic. I'd def go back."

  • "Their duck confit was amazing as was several of their small plates, not a fan of the desserts though."

  • "Service was great, bartender very friendly and overall ambience was lively and fun. Food was good too."

  • "Please note that you won't be seated unless your entire party is present. We were seated at a small table next to the bar. I noticed that there were a lot of spices & fresh herbs at the bar for the specialty cocktails. I had the dineLA stew option while my friends ordered off the regular menu. Lamb Stew - 3.5 stars (reminds me of chili with lamb with one too many pinches of salt) Duck Confit - 4 star (crispy skin and rich, buttery flavors) French Onion Duck Soup - 3.5 stars (no duck morsels to be found) Pork chops - 3 stars ( good portion but a little dry and salty) Overall good experience"

  • "I really enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. My friend and I got seated downstairs. The waiters were so nice and frequently returned to refill our barely empty glasses of water. Food came out in a timely manner. The quinoa salad with beets was so delicious. My friend kept mmmmmm-ing. The lamb stew was good. The salmon wasn't anything special, but the sauce was great. The bar is super cute so next time I hope to sit down and grab a drink. Overall experience was wonderful."

  • "Selected this joint during Dine LA for proximity to Disney Concert hall. Beautiful decor, balance between hard line industriel and comfy cozy corner seating. Chose from limited Dine LA menu, soup of the day flavorful and complex, main course of risotto hearty but somewhat bland, disappointing, desert was a tasty treat! Signature cocktails here are a bit confusing, deffinartely need the assistance of server to make a first decision, generous pour on the liquor, interresting blends of bitter, sweet, spicy, smokey, and floral that must be experienced to appreciate! Worth a second try, maybe off menu will be more satisfying. Overall recommend for unique option downtown!"

  • "The food here is incredibly interesting. This time we had poached eggs with chimichurri sauce and they were delicious. Every time I've had something that no one else is doing. Great place for before theater. Really very nice staff and relaxed atmosphere."

  • "Wonderful food, cool set up and bar. Acoustics are rough. Sat downstairs, very hard to hear yourselves talk."

  • "I enjoyed my dinner here at Industriel for dine LA. The portions were appropriate and the flavors were very appealing."

  • "Nice dinner during dineLA, although I didn't order from the event menu. Salad of kale, lardons, grated Romano and white anchovies was a pretty good Ceasar impostor. Nice duck confit that was tender with the requisite crispy skin. Apple cobbler had and interesting biscuit component, but a bit to deconstructed for me."

  • "The noise level was so bad that we couldn't hear our waiter or each other. The food is excellent, but I would not go back until they've figured away to tone down the noise."

  • "The salad and cheeseburger had great flavor. I didn't see any patio seats but the window seats were very nice. The fries were great, You should know the serving is large and the dine la lunch is pretty big. You could eat just the salad or definitely just the burger"

  • "Great job with a menu that didn't overreach. The detail paid to each dish was incredible and the flavors worked. Great cocktail menu - they were right when they named it "the perfect cocktail""

  • "The space is nice and the waitstaff are very friendly. Negatives include the fact that it is very noisy and the food is very hit-or-miss. I've been a couple of times and felt the food was very salty, but I've also tried things ordered by others that seemed okay. Okay for lunch...not sure if dinner is better."

  • "This is my third and last visit to this restaurant. Server was great.... but that did not compensate for the VERY dry burger that i ordered. Second time this has happened and I don't know what the problem is, but they have lost my business."

  • "Love this place, Ambiance, waiters with sparkling personalities, very high caliber food. Antonio (Chef) always spends a bit of time greeting and talking to us which is nice."

  • "Industriel definitely hits the spot. Its concise, but unique menu utilizes interesting flavors with delicious organic produce. Also, there is happy hour 3pm to close everyday, with house white, red, or rose for 6 and beers for as low as 4. Also a great cocktail menu. Definitely good for date, friends. Call and reserve the upstairs if you can."

  • "We picked then placed based on location and other reviews. There is no parking or valet, but we found a lot nearby for $7. The atmosphere is great- good energy and cool vibe. The bar service was extremely slow. Great drinks though! Try the French Kilt!!! Dinner for 6 was just ok, with some great appetizers and salads but the entrees being medicre. Everything was very salty. Dessert was just ok too. Bummer, we probably won't go back."

  • "Foodie, Boozie, Sunday Brunchie...it all comes together well here. Top shelf food, booze and ambiance without the entitled snobbery plaguing most of LA. I feel clever having found this place and really dig introducing people to it."

  • "We had an amazing Father's Day brunch here this year. If it were closer to our home it would be a regular spot!"
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "The ambiance is very nice -- sort of a mix of modern/factory and French provincial. I got an amazing cocktail with coriander and chile. The cocktail list is excellent. This was probably the highlight of my meal. When we sat down, our very nice waiter brought us some rolls, which were pretty generic and not all that fluffy or good. Don't waste tummy space on them. For dinner I had a pretty nice red snapper with corn. It was fresh and there were some nicely balanced flavors, but honestly it wasn't the best snapper I've ever had. It seemed a bit dry. But it was a nice spot for a romantic dinner and a nice cocktail."

  • "All ingredients are from a fresh, local source. Gnocchi was fantastic."

  • "I gave the food four stars above because I had to add in an extra star for the cocktails, which were exceptional. We also had a couple of excellent wines by the glass, including the Trinitas chard, which is hard to find. However, considering they smoke the meats themselves, the bacon was extremely disappointing--dry, slightly burned, and tasting of nothing so much as salt. The maple bacon was much better, but too sweet for my tastes. I sampled the lamb pastrami and found that nicely spiced, but a companion felt it was too gamey. The pulled pork had great flavor, but was not really "crispy" as advertised, and was served on mediocre bread. The eggs, supposedly with chili oil, were flavorless. I would try this place again, but it needs work."

  • "Always dine at this restaurant at least 2 or 3 times when I am in downtown LA. Never disappoints!"
    Dined on 6/2/2014
  • "Funky, chic decor and efficient and friendly service. The menu is interesting with creative salads and an array of small plates. For the entree, two of my companions had the duck which was excellent; and one was happy with her steak. Alas, I ordered the chicken which looked beautiful on the plate but was dry (as chicken so often is). (I probably should have sent it back but didn't want to break the happy mood.) Restaurant is in a good location in slowly-reviving downtown LA, with convenient parking ($7) in the First and Wilshire garage across the street."

  • "My dinner companions and I did not enjoy our experience here, sadly. The ambiance is fine, not my style, but fine (think Restoration Hardware meets Pottery Barn). The food was okay- nothing noteworthy to speak of. The drinks we ordered were bartender picks and they tasted watered down. The noise level was very loud, and it was difficult for my fiends and I to hear one another. But the biggest disappointment was the service. There were many errors made throughout the meal that were at the hands of the staff, i.e., wrong items rung in, entrees arriving before appetizer, dessert arriving before we finished our entrees! The overall vibe of the evening at the restaurant was pretty uncomfortable and we all decided we won't rush back anytime soon."

  • "Good ingredients, so-so execution. The kale salad was very good, the goat cheese appetizer was fine, the gambas (prawns) were super spicy, indian food spicy, which killed the garlic flavor it was supposed to have. The goat cheesecake was not sweet, and way too dense. It was more like cheese plate desert. I may go a second time in some time to see if it improved a bit. May be it was us, because the place was crowded for diner."

  • "Although one staff member gave the orders for half out party of 6 to the wrong table, they comped us another round of drinks and brought our new orders out very quickly. i liked the way they handled their mistake. The speed was particularly impt because we ate there pre-theater."

  • "The Food was really good, but the presentation was trying too hard to be creative. when you have to fight to get to your food out of these super hot boiling high rise bowls, or the deep wooden bowls which makes you wonder how sanitary wood is as a dish used in a public restaurant you are not having a relaxing time. Finally we asked for the food to be placed in a normal plate so we could actually get to eat it. the seating is so low you will feel like you are a kid at the adults table that added to the deep dishes just made it that more difficult and we were both above 6' tall . The decor is great and the food also good which is a shame this place could be a hot spot but we won't come back anytime soon. "
