A obviously stoned and not very helpful waiter made the food taste even worse than it should have. The food was ok but not more. Think the lack of good service and the fact that at least two of the staff where so obviously intoxicated gave us a bad Indochine experience."

  • "I dined here this weekend with friends after Indochine had been recommended to us by another friend. Maybe the experience would have been better had we done the restaurant week option and sampled a greater variety of food, but even so I was disappointed by my experience. The decor was nice-clean and very well decorated, probably to distract from the food. We had a few things between us (duck, hanger steak, sticky rice, and spring rolls), and despite everything looking good on the plate, everything tasted a bit bland and was, overall, nothing to remember or rave about. I expected to overpay since it is Manhattan, but paying $25+/entree for food I could have made at home seemed unnecessary. Try Indochine if you want, but I won't be returning."

  • "Really enjoyed our dinner, amazing food as always! and great ambience. After all years it's still a really nice place to visit!! Love the interior and it's always with a stylish crowd, wish I love. However the staff need to shape up a little, even if it's a busy night they should be able to handle it better, specially the bar tenders were very slow even if the actual bar was not crowded (never got our cocktail before the dinner:( and the servant never came back to check if we needed anything else or check if everything was ok, this is the difference compared to dinning at top restaurants...the service never lacks ;) Anyway I would really recommend the place for it's amazing food and interior. xx"

  • "We were a party of three who enjoy good food, good wine and conversation. We found all three at this pretty restaurant right across the street from the Public Theatres. Staff was attentive and mindful we had tickets to a play, food was very delicious and the wines by the glass more than the standard Californians, Best of all we were able to have conversation with each other throughout a lovely meal."

  • "went here and did the restaurant week menu - which had quite a few choices for each course compared to other restaurants. Got the spring rolls for app that were great and steamed catfish for the entree which was also good, but i felt was missing something. my boyfriend got the ravioli app and hen entree, both which were good. the desserts were also both okay..but i didn't leave dying to go back for anything i had. the place was definitely energetic and full for a tuesday night."

  • "Hits and misses. I was one person and though I had a reservation, they tried to sit me at the bar. I asked for a table and this seemed to be a problem for the hostess. Other people came and kindly took me to a table. One miss, one hit. I ordered the pre fix for restaurant week. I wasn't wild about the appetizer (spicy beef salad--huge and not spicy or flavorful, I had to ask for salt). Miss. Catfish--delicious. Hit. Great service. Hit. Waitress giving me a free glass of wine. Hit. Being double charged for my meal and having to wait a long time to get it resolved and then pay. Miss. My experience was colored by the fact that I had to use the bathroom but couldn't because I would have had to disturb two tables to get out of my cramped spot."

  • "Overall-We enjoyed the food but the service--at least the evening we went--was horrendous. Yes, they were busy but for a nearly $200 meal I should not have had to hunt anyone down to fill my water glass or wait nearly 10 minutes for fresh utensils. Food and service-The summer roll had a nice, smoky flavor yet was a little too chewy, the grilled eggplant was fantastic. The Chilean sea bass and filet mignon were both perfect. We skipped dessert because by then we were frustrated with our waiter. He was "busy" fawning over the corner table w-four hipsters ordering tequila & cake as well as flirting with two NYU girls next us as I waved my empty water glass in the air. Worth a trip for the food but come for lunch or pre-theater."

  • "So there are on,y a few great options over by Astor place as far I am concerned. This is one. It is definitely pricey. Ate with another girl and had a few drinks...bill ran us over $200. Vibe is very cool. Service was very friendly but so so. A few mistakes here and there and hard to get someone for a new drink at times but it was very crowded. Plates were not large but were delicious and over all experience was very good. Would definitely go back despite the cost."
