COULD BE BETTER:
service (this time). Our server was new, so we understand his mistakes.
Previous service was spot on!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMspecial bruch on Mother's Daythe brunch was excellent. The server was very responsive and the menu selection was great. Unfortunately, they only do a brunch once a year. It would be a gready place to take guests and family throughout the year.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesomeThe good was spectacular. Hubby and I went there to celebrate Mother's Day a day early and it was our first time there. My sister recommended the place to us and we LOVED IT. I order the salmon and my husband ordered the porterhouse. We couldn't believe the portion size, they were huge.. The quality of the food was incredible. My favorite was the pasta.. I would definitely eat there once a month:)5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative and deliciousFood and service were top notch. Very loud however. Four of us in a remote booth still had difficulty with conversation.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMIndigoGirlfriends favorite place so come here pretty regularly, good food and staff as always with some great drinks too.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMService is informalEverything about Indigo Grill was good. The food was really good. The environment was comfortable. We asked to sit outside because the open wood burning grill. The salmon is cooked to perfection in the grill. The young lady lacked the attitude and behaviors to match what the restaurant is trying to say about it self. Restaurant is looking to be high end with a reasonable price. The waitress was reaching over our plates, let plates accumulate on our table, and had us carry our own silverware when we moved tables. The informal approach by the waitress was not bad just not in line with what I expected. Sitting outside you experience not only the restaurant but the neighborhood. I'd go again but not for a special occasion.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMIn the top 5 . . .I was amazed at the quality of food and the reasonable prices. I will be coming back again and again5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was exquisite, theThe food was exquisite, the service outstanding, Although pricey, the quality and preparation of the food was well worth it.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe best birthday food everI will always recommend this place. I have been here several times, and I decided it was finally time to introduce this deliciousness to my fiancé. He loved it as well. I haven't ever eaten anything here that I didn't absolutely love!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant in Little ItalyWe LOVE this restaurant! Try the butternut squash soup (you just need a cup, which is more like a bowl!) and the flat iron steak that comes with mango salsa, black beans, quesadilla and salad....delicious!! Debra Scott knows what she's doin'!!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe make sure to eat at IndigoWe make sure to eat at Indigo every time we're in San Diego!! It's the restaurant we miss the most since moving. Thank you.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways eat at Indigo GrillAlways eat at Indigo Grill when we are in San Diego. Unique menu choices with conbination of entree and side dishes. Just hosted a party of seven. Everyone loved their dishes. Chef has won awards.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough this is the firstAlthough this is the first time I have written a review on Indigo Grill, we have eaten at the restaurant many times. Our entrees were delicious and service was very good. There was a problem in the kitchen. Our friends received their entrees first and our entrees arrived 15 minutes later. We could see our server talking to the chef. She wasn't happy about the delay in serving our entrees, but was very professional when she spoke with us. We were celebrating a birthday and she brought everyone a delicious (complimentary) dessert. It was a thoughtful way of compensating for the entrees arriving at different times. We will return. We have never been disappointed in our entrees and service. This can happen, but hopefully very rarely.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was very good and serviceFood was very good and service was great! Good place for a special occasion with a small group.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe wife and I went here forThe wife and I went here for a "date" night. We have been here before. The food tasted terrific. However, both my chicken and wife's duck were overcooked. That was unusual, as that was not true for other visits. We really appreciated our server who helped make our experience there better. We would still recommend Indigo to all our friends.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come here often and alwaysWe come here often and always have a great time. It is our first choice for taking friends and especially out of town visitors, they all have raved about the food. The brie appetizer, corn pudding and the salmon with squid ink pasta are outstanding but everything has been enjoyable.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways excellent!Had an awesome dinner as always. The Good Things Growing is my favorite dish there. The rest of our group had rainbow trout, the filet, and pork ribs. They were all excellent. Our waitress was excellent too.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMFood absolutely delicions..ServiceFood absolutely delicions..Service professional and efficient3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative and DeliciousWe flew through San Diego on a recent trip to California. Indigo Grill was rec. by a friend for its creative dishes. We ate there soon upon arrival and liked it so much we visited again before leaving for home so that we could taste more. From drinks to appetizers to entrees to desserts -- we enjoyed everything. The brie appetizer, crusted with sesame & pumpkin seeds and served with mole, roasted garlic, and pepper jelly was excellent! The Indian corn pudding was another favorite.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMWe got the brie as a starterWe got the brie as a starter and it was great. The "Good Things Growing" (veggie platter) entree was truly special, especially the Indian corn pudding. The salmon w/ squid ink pasta was also delicious. I was too happily stuffed for dessert, but next time...3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant was a greatThe restaurant was a great place for dinner prior to shows at Old Globe. Good flavor to the food and interesting combinations.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe took advantage of the fabulousWe took advantage of the fabulous night to sit outside, which was comfortable thanks to the heat lamps! The clams and mussels are not to be missed! Absolutely delicious. Also, great spin on the grilled Romaine. Also delicious. Loved the fig jam served with it. Very pleasant evening overall.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways stop here when in SDBeen to IG many times and always include a stop here when in SD.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the same deliciousThis is the same delicious food that we used to get at Kemo Sabe. Our experience was very nice and the food excellent. Our waitress was slightly distracted at first and I had to asked to sugar for my ice tea several times, but after that the service was very good. Tables were way too close together...you had to turn sideways to walk by your table so as to not bump into others. The restaurant is recommended though and we would go back.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was quiet the night weIt was quiet the night we were there. I very much recommend the nacho dish -- super glaze and very tasty.
We selected the restaurant because it was so close to the Hampton where we were staying, and that definitely worked nicely.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWe frequent Indigo Grill often,We frequent Indigo Grill often, due to service and food. We tried Deborah Scott's lower calorie Tilapia in parchment paper and it did not disappoint. Will order it again for certain. The Pipian Brie appetizer and Tortilla soup are also outstanding. The flavors in everything is what keeps us coming back.3/3/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been to Indigo GrillI have been to Indigo Grill many times, and they have never ceased to raise the bar for excellent food and service. It is my favorite restaurant in SD. And Deborah Scott is a teriffic hostess. He "wanderings around the restaurant" chatting with diners, answering questions, make it an even more memorable evening. Don't change a thing.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGet the brie appetizerPipian brie appetizer is incredible, as was the cedar plank salmon. Service is always good here, great teamwork with their staff.1/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWent in for the AnniversaryWent in for the Anniversary Special of $20.13. A bargain for terrific food. Service here is always outstanding, great team work. We had the Pipian Brie appetizer (amazing), Pecan Crusted Trout and Pipian Rojo Chicken entree (excellent). We skipped the included dessert because we were so full from the food.1/5/2013 12:00:00 AM
