The food was excellent but the service was somewhat so-so. I do have to say it was a Saturday night and the night before Mother's Day so am cutting them some slack. My husband would disagree as he was pleased, the host moved us from a really small table to a much larger one with a minimum of fuss which did make the dining experience much more plesant. I would certainly recommend this restaurant, especially for a special occasion.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been to Indigo CrowWe have been to Indigo Crow several times before, both for dinner and lunch, and we would go more often except that it is rather far from where we live. The food and service always have been excellent, and this time was no exception. Only minor drawback was that it was a Friday night and the noise level was a bit higher than we would like. Restaurants have come and gone in Corrales, but Indigo Crow has remained over the years, which speaks for itself. I had halibut and asked that they replace the rice with a veggie. I received lovely halibut, seasoned just so, with grilled asparagus and spinach and red bell peppers. It was great! My husband likes to add tuna and grilled tomatoes to his salad and he loved it prepared rare and seasoned. We had a lovely somewhat private table on the patio, with a bottle of great Milagro chardonnay. She had the lobster ravioli and I had a green salad topped with grilled hailibut and vodka vinagrette dressing. We both had a wonderfully enjoyable meal on the cozy patio. So good, we ate dinner this time for a 35th work anniversary. The couple that we were with had not ate dinner there before. They really loved the filet mignon and the pork with orange sauce. And of course, we made it dessert this time. The bread pudding was nice and the creme brulee ...and of course the chocolate mousse tart. We went there a few times for dinner several years ago, and were disappointed, especially for $20-30 per entre. We hadn't ate there in a long time but happened to be in the area, so we gave it another try.
They have really upgraded their dinner menu. The creativity of dishes, quality of ingredients, and preparation have all improved considerably. Everything we had this visit was really outstanding. Brie starter was superb. Obvious Chef Junior is extremely passionate about his work and end products. We often meet other folks there and have even developed some friendships. It is definitely a friendly atmosphere, but if you want privacy, there are wonderful tables to allow you to talk quietly. I love it in both winter when the fire is crackling and summer on the patio. Don and Gina, the owners are very sensitive to the menu and are always looking to improve both the menu and wine list.
