Diner Reviews
  • "Went to this restaurant for the first time the night before. So good I had to go back. We Loved the food and can't wait to go back. Jarrod took wonderful care of us all evening and even Julie our waitress from the previous evening checked in several times and made sure we were doing well, and while the Noise Level was energetic since there were several large parties that night, it was more of a fun atmosphere and did not disrupt a nice romantic evening. Ya gotta go if you are in Philly!"

  • "This is my 4th time at the Center City location. The drinks are superb and the dinner, even better! Although we made reservations for a party of 6, we had to wait 30 minutes for the party to finish. The manager apologized and after I continued to ask him about that wait, he provided us a complimentary round of drinks and brought us two complimentary appetizers (which happened to be my favorite!) to the table. I have never had to wait before with reservations but this was the first time I had to make a reservation for a group. It was still a great experience and our waiter was also friendly and professional. The food is delicious and not like your typical, casual Indian restaurant. There is a unique twist with lots of bold flavor."

  • "I went once on a friday and i really didn't know what to expect but when i was seated i knew my experience would be a good one. The service is amazing , the waiters are friendly abd prompt when it comes to satisfying requests. The good was amazing i trued the lamb josh it was very good although i wanted bigger portions lol it definitely went to fast. Overall i give indeblue 9 out of 10. I will return and i recommend it."

  • "It's an upscale Indian cuisine. Try the tasting menu. it's good value for money and gives you the best dishes! if you really want to enjoy, go with wine pairing. it was perfect. my only problem there it's that it was way too loud there, but i don't think it's something the restaurant can control. the food and the service were great and that's what it's all about!"

  • "This is the Best Indian Cuisine I've ever had. I can't say more. The lamb lollipops, the shrimp skewers, the chicken drums w/blue cheese, the peppers with cheese, and that's only half of what we ate. The sauces are to die for. The bread, scrumptious. Going back again next day. Also, Julie was very patient and talented at explaining the dishes and what they consisted of and really made you hungrier as she described each dish to you. Ambience also very nice. Highly recommend"

  • "I'm Indian and generally don't like Indian food outside India. Indeblue has many innovations on traditional themes which make it novel. The results were uniformly good."

  • "Nice ambiance and great food. Slightly pricey and food is a fusion of east/west. Portions are smaller but perfectly sized. Great service too, despite a busy Friday night. Try the spinach chaat and their mango lassis."

  • "First sat at bar happy hour. Great drink specials. David was great bartender. Delicious gimlet. Then dinner was wonderful. Nice waiter. Forgot name. Blond. Very helpful. Great support staff. Food was so so good. Chicken madras. Lamb biryani."

  • "Some great Indian food in Philly (yes, I've eaten at some other pretenders and they pale in comparison)!"

  • "Took some friends from out of town on Saturday night and they both agreed it was the best Indian food they've had. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants."

  • "This restaurant appears to be attempting to modernize Indian food and perhaps make it a little more mainstream. Unfortunately I was left lacking and a little dissatisfied. The $26 mixed grill didn't really have substance or quantity and I was still hungry. My colleague enjoyed a chicken madras and I have to say it looked more substantial and quite appetizing, probably a good choice similar to the rogan josh that was ordered on the next table. Both however were $20 range & didn't appear noticeably different than what you might find in a more traditional Indian restaurant. We also had other problems, a used glass on the table when we were seated, the restaurant was uncomfortably warm & I didn't see the wait staff smile once. I won't return."

  • "If you want an original take on Indian food, come to IndieBlue. The usual menu items are here, along with inventive seasonal additions. Always an enjoyable evening with great service."

  • "I went expecting traditional Indian food (which I love) but instead found a unique menu. Everything we had was yummy. An unexpected surprise was being offered the Wed night sips menu to order from at a table. I'll definately be going back."

  • "The Collingswood location of IndeBlue is much better than Philadelphia. Seating is too close together for my taste and the menu offerings, while tasty, were different. Much of what I was looking forward to was not on the menu in Philadelphia. I didn't think to review the menu prior to our visit so that is my fault. While the table was being cleared between courses, I was splashed by food a few times. Perhaps the bussers could use a refresher course on how to neatly collect silverware? I love IndeBlue but will continue dining at the Collingswood, NJ location."

  • "I've been going to the Indeblue in Collingswood for years and it never disappoints. I can always count on the delicious food and friendly staff...well I can say I'm adding Indeblue Philly to my "must frequent" list. The food was deliscious, a great blend of flavors and spices. The ambiance was chic and trendy, perfect for the city setting and the staff friendly, knowledgeable and aiming to please. I wouldn't change one thing! Already planning my next visit."

  • "My husband and I had a great dining experience. For our initial exposure to Indian cuisine, we really enjoyed ourselves. Our choices were flavorful, not overwhelming. The cocktails need improvement."

  • "Perhaps I am disappointed because I had heard so many good things about Indie blue. The service was reasonably good, but the waiters weren't as knowledgeable as I would have expected. Food was hit or miss, mostly miss. Drinks were good, including their Indie Blue martini. Overall, I think they are now out competed by Tashan.", which has done am outstanding job with the fusion menu."

  • "Great food, good service. Went through some average drinks before I hit the wonderful Indebluetini. "

  • "Service - Great Food - Great Overall - I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who likes or wants to try Indian food."

  • "Food took extremely long to come. 65 min for appetizers to come on not a particularly bus night. Wait staff is a bit inexperiencedifferent but average. "

  • "I've been here twice now and each time was outstanding. The food is original and delicious. I definitely recommend the flash fried spinach appetizers, the lamb vindaloo entree, and any of the cocktails. Our server was outstanding, he knew the menu and cocktails through and through and made excellent recommendations. "

  • "I've been here a few times and I have yet to be disappointed by the food or the staff (and the Karma Chai Sutra cocktail is delicious). They practice team service, so even if the server that took your order is nowhere in sight, someone will be by to refill your drink or take away empty dishes. Great place for a date night or a night out with friends. Only downside is that it's a fairly small place, so it can get a little noisy on a busy night. "

  • "I ate at Indeblue for my one year anniversary. Our waiter was extremely well versed on the food. The naan was delicious. I had the lamb Roganjosh and was really underwhelmed with the taste. The atmosphere was beautiful. Unfortunately, it was very noisy and difficult to hold a conversation because of it. I don't recommend eating here on a friday night."
    Dined on 5/23/2014
  • "It is difficult to enjoy conversation when a restaurant has a bar that dominates the space, the ceilings and walls are made up of hard surfaces. and large parties are interspersed with tables for two. The food is good, but secondary to "the scene." The wines are overpriced for their quality. The service is friendly, but haphazard. "

  • "Really disappointing dinner. We'd eaten dinner here when this restaurant first opened and found the food delicious and creative. This time around, all the food tasted like generic delivery food. Other diners must've caught on because the place was almost completely empty. On a positive note, our server was attentive and friendly. I hope they revamp the cooking."

  • "Great cocktails! Flavorful appetizers & entrees. Loved the modern fusion twists on classic Indian dishes & the general vibe of the restaurant!"

  • "This restaurant has wonderful Indian cuisine with great ambiance. It is a hip beautifully designed place with great service located in the heart of another excellent restaurant row location - Thirteenth Street. I highly recommend it."

  • "Absolutely amazing. Food was spot on - wild boar osso bucco, banana dessert. Indeblue martini was delish. Definitely returning"

  • "Beyond outstanding food and beautiful decor, Indie Blue REALLY excels at service. Both times our wait staff has been personable and informative without being intrusive. The pace of service is timed professionally so that the whole experience is exactly what it should be."

  • "I took my mother to IndeBlue for Mother's Day. The restaurant had a price fix menu for brunch of three courses and a drink for a really reasonable price. The food was more than plentiful and simply delicious. There was also a very good array of vegetarian options, and the spinach chaat was absolutely divine. My mother and I have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Philadelphia, and we agreed that this was the best we have tried. Plus, the live music was really beautiful and made it a special occasion."

  • "Outstanding experience. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. This was one of the best Indian meals I have had. Strongly recommended."
    Dined on 5/10/2014
  • "We really wanted to like it but just can't recommend. We opted for the tasting menu - four courses for $40. Salad and second course were fine - salad and seared scallops-- but sadly entrees were lacking in both execution and quantity. Tiny portion with a very large side of rice. As soon as the entree was served the waiter brought us a desert menu "so we could consider it while we were eating." Really? Trying to keep tables moving? Deserts were a disaster. Chocolate cake was a stale dry cupcake. Banana desert was a trio of tough donuts. The place is beautiful and right in the neighborhood. Could be so much better. "

  • "I can't tell you how great this experience was. Took my family out to celebrate Mother's Day weekend and two birthdays. They were visiting from out of town. Everyone enjoyed the meal, the service, the decor, everything. Shared a picture of our desserts on Facebook. Will definitely be back."

  • "I took my parents to IndeBlue last time they were in Philly. We usually do traditional Indian. IndeBlue was more modern Indian, which basically meant smaller portions of delicious Indian food (room for dessert!). The decorator and atmosphere had elements of traditional and modern. We were very satisfied with the whole experience. "

  • "Great service and the food was fantastic. Special dessert for my friend's birthday was done nicely. Can't wait to go back."

  • "The staff is young and the service, ambience and food let you know you are in a restaurant and not a partying, fast-food establishment. 5 Stars."

  • "2 foodie friends and I dined here for Sunday brunch. The ambiance and decor, coupled with the mood-setting sitar music, immediately made us feel at home in its exotic, intimate setting. We couldn't help but order numerous dishes from the menu, vowing to return to sample what we didn't get to this time. I was relieved to finally find a place that serves thalis, I chose to make my vegetarian thali "vegan" and it was masterfully spiced. Will definitely come here again, specifically when live sitar is offered. "

  • "Dinner itself was good. Very tasty. Service was just okay. Our waiter didn't refill our water unless we asked for it. We were also seated in the middle of the dining room, and it was crazy loud. I had to shout to hear my date, who was sitting a foot away from me. "
