InakayaFood + CultureInakaya's food alone can impress anyone like traditional Japanese. In addition, performance and demonstration of Japanese culture will make your meal more interesting. It's particularly good to bring someone who is interested about it's culture.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMCharcoal Grilled JapaneseNot your normal BBQ spot. Came first for a party dinner for 2 with 7 course Kaiseiki dinner. Great service. Quiet on for dinner.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!Excellent traditional Japanese dining in a nice open, bright restaurant. Great food, great interior, and awesome service, as well. One of the best Japanese restaurants in New York City. Also, the best fresh mochi I've ever had.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you enjoy traditional JapaneseIf you enjoy traditional Japanese food you'll love this place. My sushi and soba soup were delicious. The wine list was good too. The interior is beautiful and the staff were friendly and attentive. The restaurant filled up quickly.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAbove average but not greatVery good across all categories -- was hoping for something more but can't complain. Solid, decent, would likely return.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSolid bento box for lunchTheir standard sushi/sashimi bento box is solid. The salmon and other fish was incredibly fresh. I would definitely return. It was a bit noisy for a business lunch acceptable. The ambiance is similar to restaurants I have been to in Tokyo and Osaka, very authentic.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazingThe food was incredible. I had the yellowtail and my boyfriend had the beef skewers, and we shared orders of asparagus and mushrooms. There wasn't a single piece of food that wasn't cooked to perfection. The staff was wonderful as well. This may be our new favorite place5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMtime travel spoileddining at inakaya usually takes me back to the edo-period. to me it means the virtues of the senses were cherished to the utmost. the atmosphere there does that to me. and the food is near to perfect in my humble opinion. too bad that a shabby service ruins such an experience dramatically. usually, the service is fine even though not great as usually japanese culture would suggest. however, yesterday, the service was an offense. if it was not for my guests from germany, i would have left and gone elsewhere to dine. sorry to say.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Japanese CuisineI really enjoyed this robata! It's authentic without appearing gimmicky. The food tastes wonderful and while its probably a little "Americanized" the large number of Japanese patrons suggests its a taste of home. Sit at the counter and enjoy having your food presented to you by the chef. If you've no idea what to order simply choose the tasting menu for 5 courses of new and delicious food. I'd happily return.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Japanese spot nearbyGood Japanese spot nearby Times Square. Great decor with high ceiling, and floor to ceiling windows, real fresh raw fish, nice sushi bar, not the typical sushi place.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Robata grill is reallyThe Robata grill is really their specialty. The food is delicious, the presentation / delivery of the grill is lots of fun, too. Definitely a place to have a drink and enjoy good food.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMNYC SushiIt was an interesting Sushi place. I was unable to initially enjoy the food because of the raw fish they were serving that did not look palatable. However, the waiter offered me another alternative which was far better than what my certificate offered. Then I enjoyed my meal! The place is clean, great concept, not your regular Japanese restaurant. My husband on the other hand enjoyed everything that was served him and is planning to go back there.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was my first time in NYIt was my first time in NY and my first time in a Japanese restaurant and it was wonderful !
Thank you very much
Emmanuelle Brisson4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMA Different Take on Japanese DiningIf you come to Inakaya, be sure to sit at the Robata-yaki counter. It's a different and enjoyable experience to be served your meal on the wooden paddles of the preparers. As you enter the restaurant, you are greeted with the shouts of "irimashai-mase" just as you would be in Tokyo. The restaurant itself is lovely and vibrant. The staff is friendly and helpful. It's a unique and pleasant way to dine.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. AGreat food and service. The staff were welcoming, and explained how to order. We sat at the food bar and watched with fascination as our food was prepared. Delicious grilled vegetables, grilled seafood and a good variety of sake. Very entertaining & delicious as well.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWide varied menu and fun service.Wide varied menu and fun service. While the food was VERY good, it's not as good as the prices are high.1/16/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply Outstanding in NYInakaya is one of the finest Japanese restaurants in New York with outstanding service and freshness and presentation of their menu.11/20/2012 12:00:00 AM
