Diner Reviews
  • "I took my family to Imperial Fez for my husband's birthday. It was an amazing experience. The ambiance was exotic and beautiful. The belly dancing was intriguing. The service was great. The best part was food, though. Everything that we ordered was absolutely delicious. It is a family style restaurant that includes at least four courses; and each course is delicious and gets better and better. You will not be disappointed. It was a bit pricey for my budget, so this would only be a restaurant that I'd visit for special occasions."

  • "My Moroccan friend recommended this place to me. I highly recommend it as well. Extraordinary flavors that you would not expect. Quite an experience."

  • "This is my third visit to Imperial Fez. Had not been there since 2006 when the food, service and entertainment was just outstanding. This time: service is good, the bellydancer was outstanding but the food was poor quality...bland, bland, bland and not worth the high price. The place also needs an overhaul...new decor and furniture etc."

  • "We went here to celebrate our anniversary. It was a different type of restaurant with a flair. I am tired of the same old "American" restaurant experience. Imperial Fez was anything but the typical restaurant experience. The food was quite delicious also. I didn't walk away feeling overstuffed and sluggish."

  • "I got a Groupon for their Casablanca Lounge. I didn't know it didn't include belly dancing, considering they advertised belly dancing everyday. Guess not for that area. In any case, the food and service were great. It was a lot of food for one person."

  • "It was hot in the restaurant, nats, and the service was horrible. I was there fprty minutes before anyone took my order."

  • "First and last visit. I was excited to eat morroccan food for the first time. The food was not great and the lounge looked as if he had not been cleaned in years."

  • "Overall the restaurant was very good and the food was also pretty good, but my bill for 2 people was almost $200. That's insane to me. But it was different food for my wife and I so overall we enjoyed it."

  • "We didn't know what to expect after reading the 'About' section. Eating with your fingers and taking off your shoes?? WT??? You are not forced to take off your shoes and they provide forks if you choose. We opted to leave our shoes on but didnest with our fingers. It was a great experience!! The dancer was amazing (there was a sword fire dance) and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere is dark and we sometimes felt like we couldn't talk but Imperial Fez is defiantly something you should experience."

  • "The food is amazing, the wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the belly dancers are quite entertaining. I highly recommend going at least once, just for the experience. "

  • "Great atmosphere be prepared to pay al la carte & my suggestion would be the lobster because the lamb is very fatty & grisly. Bring plenty of dollars for the belly dancer & the valet. All Cars Are Valet Only! Keep in mind u will be seated closely with others & hopefully they're friendly"

  • "I took my fiance and her bestfriend here for her birthday. We have been wanting to eat here for quite a while only to be disappointed by the entire experience. The belly dancer was horrible and the food was not good at all. I actually sent mine back and it is rare that I do that. I will say that the steak kebabs were ok though. Overall, we will not be going back to this restaurant. Such disappointment after a long wait to actually make it there."

  • "I have to say the service at Imperial Fez was GREAT! We had a great time!"

  • "The belly dancers were a hit. The food was great. We had a party of four. Only one item was a bit off - our friend said his chicken kabob was dry. Other than that, all courses were rather delicious. When the music was on, it was difficult to carry on a conversation, but the belly dancers made up for that easily. They were very entertaining. Our waiter, Muhammed, was attentive and explained things well. We'll be back!"

  • "The service in the Casablanca Lounge was very poor. It took 30 to 40 minutes for our order to be taken. Then the order was wrong. The menus weren't taken back. We were given utensils late. It just seemed like the people that were using groupons got secondary service. I can't imagine that the people in the Imperial Fez main room got the treatment that we receive. We weren't the only patrons not satisfied. "

  • "I wouldn't go back here even with a groupon. The drinks are tiny and expensive and not even top shelf. The food was average, the calamari looked like onion rings it was so big and breaded. The garlic shrimp was like eating put garlic. The chicken kabob was pretty good. The best part about the place was the belly dancers and the hookah. Our server was eating dinner 2 tables away from us when we first got there also, just kind of strange while we're waiting on our food and drinks but not that big of a deal I guess. Either way, not one of my best girls night out!"

  • "LOVED THIS PLACE!!! The food was good, the service was EXCELLENT and the entertainment was amazing!!! Had a great time with my girls!! It's definitely pricey, but well worth it. Will do again =)"

  • "Food was good but not great. Service started well but got really slow as restaurant picked up. Not worth the money - experience/service wasn't grand enough to cover the mediocre meal."

  • "We dined at Imperial Fez while in Atlanta on vacation. We took two 11 year old children. Imperial Fez was great! We were looking for something different, something we don't have in our hometown. This certainly fit that criteria! Our server was great about explaining the food & helpful in suggesting something the kids would like. It's not inexpensive, so be prepared for that, but the food, the atmosphere, and the entertainment (belly dancers begin at 7:30 nightly) was well worth it."

  • "The service was a little slow and the drinks were taking forever to get in the table. The food was good, but the plates were huge (they should definitely reduce it) the dancers were great and the chef was very friendly. It's a great place to check out but I don't think I would be back!!!"

  • "Fun atmosphere. The prices have really increased, I think $35 per person is more reasonable. Smaller portions for the second and first course would be better so you can enjoy the entire meal."

  • "The overall experience is quite uplifting. A very unique dining experience with entertainment, great service, great food. leave with a smile and very full tummy!"

  • "For my BDay, I wanted to celebrate with food, fun, and friends. This place had it all. It raved of a Mediterranean ambiance, food, and entertainment. I would recommend this place to anyone seeking something different as well as the opportunity to enjoy food and a wonderful show. Great place with moderate pricing!"

  • "We have come to the Fez almost every year as a special Mother-daughter date. We were AMAZED at the gluten free option--my mom loved it! The only thing negative was the music this time---the volume was fluctuating and then would cut off or go down low. I think there were some communicating errors with when the dancing would start and end, perhaps. Nonetheless, we'll be back for sure!"

  • "great atmosphere, great service...fun "cultural' experience for the kids! Could only afford for special occasions, as it is spendy, but we had a wonderful evening celebrating my husbands birthday. The belly dancer was very talented, and the place was tastefully decorated.. Our waiter was awesome!"

  • "Our work team wanted to have a fun dining experience and we certainly got that at Imperial Fez. It was a unique experience, with good food (though 5-course proved to be way too much food) and amazing dancing. Our servers were very friendly and fun, but the service was absolutely too slow - inexcusable considering how few diners were there on a Wednesday. We had to flag down our server to receive attention several times as she was spending time mingling with another diner and the belly dancer. And the kitchen took a very long time to send out the main course following the appetizer, and only 4 of 5 dishes were brought out. The 5th was not brought out to the table for at least 15 mins after. Good fun was had by all, but I will not go back."

  • "A great restaurant one of the best experiences ever"

  • "Pros: Great scenery, dancers are OK, servers were polite and attentive...they were more than happy to take a few pictures of us. Cons: Unless you feel like walking a few blocks...mandatory valet parking..but they have a mobile device card swiper so you don't have to tip with cash (which is good because there is no ATM nearby). We had bad seats, and couldn't see the dancers very well...our line of sight was blocked by several columns."

  • "We had a birthday party there last night and everyone had a blast. Seating for 8 was cozy around 2 round tables and a corner bench seat with pillows which provided everyone the ability to chat with others in the group and not just with people sitting adjacent and across from them. Belly dancers were very entertaining throughout our 4 hr experience. Many other birthdays were being celebrated so we heard the same happy birthday song about 10 times which sort of stuck in our head. Service was attentive yet non-obtrusive. The chef came out and checked on us several times too which was very nice. The black angus steak kebabs, lamb shank with 42 spices and cornish hen with apricot entrees were outstanding! We enjoyed the entire experience!"

  • "I plan on dinning there frequently. The whole occasion, was a night to remember. I dine out 2-3 times per week, and they have got my vote on one of Atlanta's Best!!!"

  • "This old run down establishment is just okay. They did not honor their own online specials. The food was good but over priced."

  • "Walk into Imperial Fez and you are transported to storybook Morocco. Soft carpet, low chairs and cushions added to the general ambiance gives you the feel of a tent somewhere in North Africa. The food is brilliant and aromatic with spices. It's a five-course meal with salads, baked items, and your choice of entree. Hint: any lamb dish is amazing. Eating with your hands, with a towel over your shoulder adds to the intimacy of the experience. The staff is friendly and is happy to answer questions about the food. Then, there's the show: beautiful belly dancers twirl and move to the traditional Arabic music. Often, when you go to a place for "dinner and a show" one or the other is second rate, but everything at Imperial Fez is fantastic."

  • "I'm torn about recommending this restaurant to a friend because although the food was good, it was not great. My husband and I made reservations for Valentine Day because we thought it would be romantic; although the ambiance was romantic, the entertainment of the belly dancers left a lot to be desired. Not many dancers and they when the dancers did come out to dance, it was not enough of dancers for the size of the restaurant and the areas that they had to cover, also they did not dance long enough. For the price point, it should have been more to the whole experience."

  • "At first we were there for special celebration, but didnt feel it at all. It was very cold in side reataurant, we end up siting in coats, service was slow, tables preaty uncomfortable.Wish we would made different choice."

  • "My girlfriend and I took our 11 year old daughters for a different kind of experience on our weekend visit to Atlanta, Feb 13, 2014. We enjoyed the ambience, food, service and belly-dancing. Our waiter was great....perfect timing between the 5 courses. Took time to explain everything. Didn't care for some items in the salad but is understandable because of the types of foods. Would have preferred to choose our desserts from the menu (although the fruit pastry was good) . The ribs and lamb shank were amazingly tender. All of the food was seasoned very well. My daughter is a very picky eater. She enjoyed both. Mint tea was good. For the 4 of us, kids 1/2 price, it was $167, then deducted $90 for our Groupon (paid $45), plus tax and tip."

  • "Not the outstanding Moroccan restaurant I have been to many times in the past. The whole place feels a bit tired and worn. The kitchen seems to just be going through the motions instead of producing outstanding (or even very good) fare. There are many better Middle Eastern establishments to choose from, albeit without the belly dancing."

  • "After reading reviews we thought this would be a fun and entertaining date night. However, we had to wait 15 min for our reservation (no big deal), then were seated at a table in the main dining room when we had requested the patio/bar area. We wanted to order off the patio/bar menu, hence our seating request. The hostess said she would bring us that menu and it was OK to remain in this seating area, but never came back. After another 15 minutes we still did not have water. Our server finally showed up and when we requested the patio/bar menu she looked at us, rolled her eyes and then said she would have to check with her manager. When she still had not returned after 10 minutes we got up and left. At least we got to see the belly dancers."
