A word from Il Villaggio Osteria
In February 2008, Fine Dining Restaurant Group, of Rendezvous Bistro & Q Roadhouse fame, brought a taste of Italy to Jackson Hole with the opening of Il Villaggio Osteria. Located inside the Hotel Terra which is the state’s first LEED certified property and only the fifth in the United States. Highlights of the intimate restaurant are Il Villagio Osteria’s 12-seat wine bar and eight seat salami bar, where guests can watch as imported meats and cheeses, sourced from the country’s finest purveyors, are hand-sliced to order. House made pastas, sausage stuffed olives, beautiful wines and entrees round out the exquisite multi course menu.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We have to make The Osteria a two hour lunch stop on every JH Ski vacay!"

  • "Excellent Arugula Salad, Spinach Ravioli, and the organic duck breast can be recommended for anyone that enjoys wild game selections. Pass on the gelato if you have discerning tastes for this Italian treat. Other dessert menu items are likely far better choices. Great restaurant in the middle of Teton Village resort, the most popular for vacationers so highly recommend reservations."

  • "Never again. Octopus was OK. Cauliflower app was over seasoned yet tasteless. Strange that. We all had pasta. Overcooked pasta. I'm glad I didn't pop for the meat. Ouch. Noisy. Not a desirable ambience for such an expensive restaurant and hotel."

  • "We have been coming to JH annually for the last eight years. We have visited the Osteria each of the last three years. Every year it has gotten worse. This visit is our last. The brussels w/ pomegranate sounded good- but were poorly executed, the cauliflower the same. The chicken liver mousse was inedible. The pizza was ok- nicely blistered on the bottom- but the toppings and cheese were nothing interesting. The Lasagna my daughter ordered was baked in a casserole dish- it was like soup. I would expect that quality level at a low end family owned red sauce Italian place in the suburbs. Not good."

  • "Something is wrong at the Osterria. We have always enjoyed fresh, lively food. This trip, we experienced less attention to detail, service that was way too casual and plates that were ordinary. In such a great mountain location, there is a captive clientele but the quality has definitely slipped."

  • "love eating here, but too noisy this last time for even the 4 of us."

  • "Went with my 3 month old grand daughter and her parents. Every one (especially our server) was great. Awesome salads and pastas...good, reasonable, wine list. Only problem was the noise level...wouldn't recommend for a quiet romantic evening...but the fantastic meal made it all work for us..."

  • "Fantastic as always. There's a good reason this place is buzzing every night. The food is creative and delicious. The chef never misses here. Great selection of Italian wines. My only issue is they could use more staff. Everyone seems so overwhelmed. If you need more wine best to plan in advance or you will wait. Also I feel rushed here, for example my main dish arrived while the appetizers were still on the table and only 3/4 done. I get that it's busy and they need to book it tight but nonetheless it is a downside to dining here."

  • "We go to Jackson Hole at least twice each year. Rotate the restaurants we hit each time, but Osteria is always on the rotation. Food is always excellent with a very interesting menu. Never had a meal that I didn't love. Service is always the best and waitstaff fun to interact with. Good wine list. Atmosphere is rustic and casual. This is a must if traveling to Jackson Hole Area"

  • "Vegetable dishes really shine. Pasta with bottarga was very tasty but low on bottarga which was disappointing at $19 a plate Great ambiance right in the center of Teton Village Still my favorite on mt dining choice for lunch or dinner"

  • "I am not the only one that loves the pizza, and other food, at Osteria. It is difficult to get a reservation here, so start early. Their Guido Sarduci pizza is covered with arugala and is something really special."

  • "Really marginal food in a convenient location. Pizzas are OK but just OK."

  • "Okay the night we went to eat here the place was absolutely packed. I've been here before and the food was good which is why we went back but this particular night the noise level was absolutely through the roof. Normally it's not as crowded. The food however is usually consistent and the meal usually pretty good. I think if you eat here you should be happy with the meal."

  • "Being from NJ, I wasn't expecting much from an Italian restaurant in WY but Il Villagio was pretty good. Our daughter was celebrating her 12th birthday & wanted pasta. She had the bolognese sauce & enjoyed it. We had a cheese & salami selection for appetizer which was well presented, with nice selections. The prosciutto & pecorino were clearly the real deal! The veal chop and gnocchi were very good entrees. The portions were a nice size, not too big or small. We didn't stay for dessert since we had bday cake waiting for us but we saw some that looked good from afar. They had a nice wine selection by the bottle but short (yet good) list by the glass. The ambience was modern/rustic with dark wood - a bit smaller than expected but comfy feel."

  • "Reservation a must. Our server was very helpful with wine and food recommendations. Menu diversity suitable to the skier/vacationer looking for delicious and unique Italian dishes, including pizzas. Portions and prices were reasonable."

  • "I am a local and have tried this restaurant several times over the course of its existence and have been disappointed each time (no more often than annually). This is not an Italian restaurant based on the food offerings.check the menu before going. The entrees are overpriced especially the few pasta dishes on the menu and the food average at best with a tendency to overreach on the preparation (to much going on). The pizza is made in a pizza oven that looks like a wood burning oven but is a gas oven. The problem with this restaurant is that it is owned by the same owner of several other local restaurants that are equally average at best (The Q, The Bistro)."

  • "Good, straightforward Italian fare in a nice cozy setting. For me this is the best Italian restaurant in the Jackson area. Service is friendly and efficient. Good wine selection."

  • "I have eaten here many times and the food is good, which is why it is a popular, usually crowded place. The staff, however, is clueless about how to manage reservations. On my last visit, with four people, we waited 45 minutes after our reservation time to be seated. With other parties in the same situation there was no room at the bar, so the wait was unpleasant. Instead of an apology, the host said "it is what it is". Once seated do not expect a relaxing meal. The tables are crowded together and the food comes out without ceremony, often delivered to the wrong person or even the wrong table. The owner needs to pay attention to what is happening. This isn't the only place in town to find interesting food."

  • "The food especially the salads were a little too salty. Other wise the food was good. Not excellent but enjoyable. It was a busy Christmas night and the noise was up a bit but we were in a corner and that was great. THANKS"

  • "This restaurant was raved about by many people, so we were excited to finally get the chance to eat here. The food was fairly bland and sub par. I would not go out of my way to eat here, again. Way too much hype for an average, at best, restaurant."

  • "We dined at Osteria with another couple Sunday night. We were lucky to score the last night for the 2 for 1 entree specials. The service was amazing, far better than most JH restaurants. The food was ultra delicious.... Love the new menu. The atmosphere was sophisticated, warm, and FUN! We had a great time and will be back soon!"

  • "Growing up in an Italian household, I rarely eat Italian out, but this place did not disappoint in the least. Everything was great. We ordered a bottle of wine, a couple apps and then entrees. All the food was delicious and portion sizes were very adequate. The lamb is unbelievable and the pork chop was delicious. Highly recommend the lamb. Our only complaint was the timing on food coming out. We hadn't finished our apps before the entrees came out. The restaurant wasn't even busy, so not sure what was going with that. Maybe take a page out of Italian dining, where they sit and eat for hours..."

  • "The food here was very inventive and flavorful - not the best you will ever have but interesting and far better than expected for an in-hotel restaurant. The decor was lacking the most - no booths, just wooden chairs and wooden tables."
