Il Tesoro NYCGreat food, great serviceVisiting from Hawaii. Ordered the steak tuscano and it was unbelievable. Would definitely go back.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMIl Tesoro, NYC follow upThe decor is rich, polished dark woods with Tuscan art scenes. Very inviting and comfortable. The tables range from 2somes to larger 6-8 and are spaced so as not to distracted by the next table's conversation or noise. The food was outstanding: our starter Calamari ranked with the best we ever had both here and in Italy/Spain; we split the Lamb ragout pasta dish, which the staff readily accommodated; and enjoyed the Branzinni and Osso Bocca. The wine list is extensive and should meet any expectations. Overall, a great dining experience which more than met our expectations in following up on a similarly great meal at their place in Sanibel, FL a few months ago.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMSupport this local eateryAlways enjoy this restaurant...it is a little pricy but I am never disappointed. The service is always attentive and the food very good. I hope they bring back the Soft Shelled Crabs!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMIl tesoro is a treasure. If Il Tesoro is a neighborhood restaurant, I am glad I live in the neighborhood. The welcome is always warm and the food never less than outstanding. For an appetizer, I recommend either the octopus in a vibrant tomato sauce or the scallops antica which is in a citrus reduction are both great choices. For a main course, particularly on a cold night, I would choose the short ribs. The sauce is intense and the meat is succulent. Served over gnocchi, the dish warms you from the inside out. For those wanting fish, the branzino toscana is a wonderful choice. It is very flavorful with sundried tomato and artichokes; the fish is perfectly prepared, delicate and hearty at the same time. I highly recommend this restaurant.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of the best italianThis is one of the best italian restaurants on the Upper East side. Consistently great food and great service.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful service and a variedWonderful service and a varied menu. The suckling pig was scrumptious!2/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem of a UES restaurantA gem of a UES restaurant with great service and fabulous food A new favorite for us!2/4/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, great Place!I went to Il Tesoro with a party of 5 and we had an excellent time. We sat in the wine cellar which had terrific ambiance. The wine list was extensive with many reasonably priced bottles, notably from the Tuscany region. All of the food was excellent the only part that took away from the night was the service. The waiter seemed to have an off night, making several errors (bringing sparkling water when we asked for tap, brining a drink on the rocks when we requested neat, missing a pasta dish) little things like that but they added up to subpar service. I would write that off as the waiter having a bad night and would still go back and highly recommend this place to all my friends.1/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous on First AvenueThe moment you arrive at this beautiful restaurant, the mood is set for a perfect evening. The decor is warm, cozy, elegant and inviting. Tables are well spaced so as to offer privacy while dining. We were four and all ordered different dishes...each was fabulous. The soft shell crabs were delicious...halibut excellent...seafood mix great...and the pasta was enjoyed also. This was our first time here, but I look forward to a return visit. Downstairs they have a cozy private dining room in the "wine cellar". We dine out a lot, but this restaurant was one of the prettiest that we have seen in a long time. Try it and you will enjoy it as much, I am sure!12/2/2012 12:00:00 AM
