  • "Went to Il Posto a month ago and loved it. Food and service was great, and we loved the urban vibe. Were ready to declare this a favorite and then came the second visit, which was as bad as the first one was good. We were not seated until 40 minutes past our reservation, were then told they were out of 1 of only 4 entrees (only meat dish on the menu), so we ended up with dishes we didn't want. The Game Hen lacked flavor and the Sea Bass was just bad - never seen Sea Bass in little strips. Our waiter was aloof and condescending. We wanted to share our disappointment with the manager, he was gone, but told he would call us the next day (no call). They compd the Sea Bass and 2 drinks, but we wanted a great dinner. Need a new favorite!"

  • "I did I missed this restaurant in Denver the last seven years. Andrea has a first rate place here is Denver home to meat and potatoes. The Bufula de Mozzeralla salad was great. Several of us had pesce, the two others had the paradelle and risotto. All were great. Looking forward to the upcoming wine dinner."

  • "Il Posto was so authentic and fresh, I thought we were going to walk out onto the streets of Milan afterwards. Enthusiastic servers, the chef/owner Andrea is there to greet and wish you Buona Serra. I loved my stuffed calamari appetizer and the secondo of opah fish with spring peas and white asparagus. Wine list is amazing, all Italian wines. I wanted red wine (even with fish, I was in a mood) and the Schiava from the Alto Adige that the Max, the sommelier recommended was perfect with both dishes. Desert was exceptional clotted cream with rhubarb... SO GOOD, we should have ordered due. I wish we lived in the neighborhood. Menu changes every day - which is insane and awesome. I can't wait to go back. Mille grazie!"

  • "Celebrating 3 friends' birthdays was absolutley a perfect reason to revisit Il Posto. None of them had been, and were they completely enthralled!!! We all enjoyed the 4-course tasting menu, a screaming deal at $65. What really stood out in all of the dishes were the incredibly intricate flavors on each and every dish. Coupled with perfect timing from the kitchen, the service is as good as it gets. Never in your face, but you never want for anything. The service is flawless in all aspects, including each of the servers in-depth knowledge of the extensive Italian wine list."

  • "Il Posto is just a hot, fun place to dine. The food varies from average to sublime, as is the case with so many highly rated restaurants in Colorado. The wine list is very good, Italian-oriented as would be expected, and cocktails are similarly Italian derived. Try lunch, which is never busy and the food improves, probably because there is less stress on the small kitchen. Salads are always wonderful, and risotto is cooked to order, a rarity in restaurants anywhere in the country."

  • "Went to Il Posto on a recommendation of a friend who said it was great and a "real hole in the wall." I had high expectations for the food and they were not met. The restaurant is comfortable and intimate and the service top notch. However, the food, while good and beautifully presented on the plate, is not as good as the price would suggest. While I am not above spending $200 on dinner for two, I expect the food to be completely delicious and innovative and the flavours at Il Posto were not at that echelon. If you really want to try it, my advice for two people, have one person get the tasting menu for $65, share the assaggini, primi, and dessert, and have the second person get their own appetizer. The waiter should have done this for us."

  • "I generally come here to get there rabbitt and other unusual specialties. Food was excellently cooked. Rabbit is one of the tougher meats to cook properly as it is so lean. They nailed, great place for a delicious meal and some good cocktails."

The restaurant is small and a little tight for seating, but oh my the food was excellent. The pasta was the most authentic tasting Italian I've had since moving here from New England. The mussels were also fantastic. We will definitely be coming back."

I don't care for the seating. You feel like you are in each other's lap and can't really hear the person across from you. Too noisy. Other than that it was great."

  • "My girlfriends and I make it a tradition to try a new restaurant every year during restaurant week. This year, Il Posto was the pick, and we all agreed that it was one of the most memorable. The food was all delicious. I personally came to try the risotto Il Posto is known for and I was not disappointed!! Everything from the bread, wine selections, and every course thereafter made me a true fan! Thank you for also making the restaurant week experience enjoyable, some restaurants rush through people and don't offer the full experience. Every single staff member of Il Posto was professional, attentive, informative and genuinely pleasant!"

  • "We always come here on restaurant week and are now saying why don't we come when it's not restaurant week. I love the plates they serve the food in--giant bowl with tiny hollow in the center for pasta--the gorgeous waitresses, and the snappy thin guy who has such great descriptions of the wine you order. But the food is wonderful--the mussels lightly crumbed and fried and put back in the shells, and the budino dessert, which was extra, with the salty caramel pudding and pickled blueberries was amazing. I like the ambience which reminds me of New York. Many fancy restaurants in Denver are not at all what they are cracked up to be but Il Posto is."

I have been left out in the cold at other upscale restaurants and won't return to them as I'm obviously not important to them. Daniel was very accommodating and gave us the perfect amount of attention. Thanks for a fun night and I will work on my palate. My gnocchi was delicious."

  • "Great overall food experience. We enjoyed spending time at the bar before getting seated at our table. The bar provides an up close and personal view of the chefs plying their trade. It was fun to see all the dishes being prepared and made choosing our dining options a snap. The chef (or one of the assistant chefs, as I always get that protocol confused) was kind enough to reserve a pork entree for me when I heard him say there were only two left. The service was very attentive and the entire staff seemed to work very well together and to be enjoying their work. The owner stopped by two or three times to make sure we were happy with our experience. The food was well prepared and presented, and the ambience was spot on."

I love the energy of the restaurant (the open kitchen adds a certain level of excitement), I love the ambiance with the lighting and the view out onto 17th St (I said scenic because it snowed all night making the view out of the windows so pretty). I had the gnocchi...amazing mustard sauce that sung with my Amarone wine. Each day, the menu changes based on the amazing food Chef/Owner Andrea brings in daily...truly, a warm and welcome restaurant with great staff and delightful owner (who has been there to greet us every time we have dined there.) I love Il Posto!"

  • "I was there at an off hour, so the place was very quiet. Spent more money than expected, but the food was complex and really interesting (especially the soup), so I didn't feel burned. Other reviewers are saying that you can get this food elsewhere for less, but I don't know where. It's certainly not Northwest Denver red sauce food, but is creative and carefully considered, with unusual ingredient combinations that really work. In short, memorable."
