I really appreciate how much they give back to the community. I was there with friends for a Dine and Donate for Napa Humane. The food was delicious and comforting on a chilly night. A good time was had by all! They were very accommodating in helping to seat more guests than originally planned.

We have been looking for a casual dining place in Napa for years. This is it! Excellent food and service. I had the Pollo Frito ( yes - fried chicken and mashed potatoes). Prices are very reasonable. The house red is made by Chris Dearden and is excellent.

I'm allergic to wheat, so the gluten free trend has been awesome for me. Il Posto has just added a rigatoni that is gluten free and quite tasty. They will do it up with your choice of sauce from the menu so you aren't stuck with just one option. Great!

My favorite restaurant. Period. It is also the favorite of friends from Lakeport/Middletown who visit me in Napa. They want to go to Il Posto each time they come to Napa. And, of course, that's music to my ears. You are doing everything right (beginning with the very best of food!) and everyone at Il Posto is welcoming and appears to enjoy what they're doing. We like seeing your chefs at work because they look as happy as we are to be there! Thank you!

The service at il Posto has been great since they have opened. While service can certainly ruin an experience at a restaurant it isn't the reason to keep returning. We keep going back because of the food! The chicken Marsala is awesome (now that they went back to the creamy polenta), the special on Tuesday nights - Lasagna is outstanding, and my daughter loves their Margarita Pizza. We love that they are only two blocks away from our home and we will continue to patronize this great neighborhood gem. It also helps that they give back to the community through fundraisers!

Hidden off Rt. 29 a little north of the town of Napa, Il Posto is a favorite locals hangout due to its reasonable prices, fresh food, and amiable staff. You feel like you are one of the regilars whether you are or not, and that's a great feeling. Everything they prepare is tru to its description, so don't hesitate to order what you want. This is what Napa does not have a lot of - a true neighborhood gem.

I do not know why I did not try this place sooner. Our server was phenomenal. He had a wonderful personality and was very funny. The arugula salad was out of this world and I loved the pomegranate martini. The only issues I had were the dessert and the pizza. We got two desserts and the gelato was awesome. But the ice cream sandwich was a little dry. The pizza was very good but could have used a little more seasoning (perhaps cracked black pepper). Overall I really enjoyed myself and it made for a great girls' night out. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to go back.

When we don't feel like cooking, this is a great alternative. Posto pizza pie to start...amazing. they make their own meats for this pie. We then shared the ricotta gnocchi (also house made) and the cold corn soup. Both were great and well priced. If you are looking for great food and reasonable prices in the Napa Valley...would add this to your list. No views, but the food will not disappoint.

We had an 8:45 dinner reservation, and enjoyed a nice, but rushed, dinner. At 10:00PM, we were the last people in the place, and the entire staff, and the owner, stood at the door waiting for us to leave. We never were offered coffee or dessert, and ushered out the door! It was rude & unprofessional- if they want to accept reservations for 8:45, they should plan on letting paying guests stay for at least an hour and a half.

We came here when they first opened and the menu has changed for the better. The food is prepared old school italian style which makes it taste that much better. Big variety of wine and other drinks. There was alittle noise but not so much that you couldn't hear the person your sitting with. The flavor and taste of the food are as good as they can get. Service was very efficent. Try it for yourself....

This is the second time we've been to the wine country. We found this place last year and were thrilled to return this year. My wife and I shared every course and enjoyed every bite. In the bruschetta with prosciutto, the in-season figs added an amazing texture and taste. For our second course, the agnolotti (pasta with ricotta & black truffle filling) was served with chicken and 2 kinds of beans; even the broth was good to the last drop. The rest was great too, but I need to say the atmosphere is wonderful too. The owner is present, the hostess and waitstaff help out whenever needed (in other words, not territorial) and it's so pleasant to finish a day here. We give it a hearty recommendation and look forward to returning.

Great Italian food as well as delicious appetizers, entrees, and desserts. We had Caesar salad which had fresh shaved Parmesan cheese - yum! My dining partner's baked ziti was loaded with fresh mozzarella and really good. My hangar steak was cooked to perfection and very tender. We shared the gelato and ordered three flavors. It was a delicious finish to our meal. We also ordered 2009 Phipps Family Zinfandel which was fantastic and well priced. We will be back!

We called ahead to say we would be 20 min. and they held our reservation for us - AWESOME! We didn't order an appetizer, there was bread w/ oil & balsamic to dip, but no seasoning snide there wasn't any salt or pepper at the table so it was a little bland. I ordered the Ricotta Gnocchi w/ pork belly and polenta - it was phenomenal! I highly recommend it! My husband had the Anglietti w/ braised chicken and it was kind of bland, but I will say that this dish was not what my husband would normally order. I had a glass of the house white which was a blend and i thought it tasted a little watered down. We had the Tiramisu for dessert which was good but we didn't think it was "great" b/c it had a layer of "crunch" that was weird!

First off we came to this restaurant because we wanted to go out to dinner due to a past GREAT experience we have had here. However, this time, that was not so. Our experience was like night and day compared to our first visit. We made reservations and were seated. There was a shady looking guy who looked like he had just gotten out of jail who worked there and just kind of stood there, looking like a creep. Apparently he was the supervisor, manager or something like that. I ordered the agnolotti and it was terrible. It came with braised chicken in it. Let me start by saying I could have made better braised chicken at home. It was a watery mess. In addition, service was extremely slow. Terrible experience, don't go here, it sucks.

Well off the beaten path and a storefront location (that was the old Post Office we're told) this restaurant was a welcome fnd. Since the experience was non-pretentious the price was signfiicantly lower than comparable food at the more trendy local competitors. We loved the homemade pasta and the calamari appetizer was fabulously different. Wish the wine list went deeper with so many great vineyards in the neighborhood but the Krug Merlot went well with our dinner.

A fabulous, out-of-the-way surprise! Our hotel receptionist recommended Il Posto as a way to avoid downtown Napa on a crowded concert weekend. What a treat! Homemade Caesar dressing on crispy, hearts-only romaine, followed by a dark, rich, tangy "Papa's Secret" meat-laden (beef & pork?) sauce tossed with hand-made ribbons of tagliatelle...scrumptious! Followed by a lemon- ricotta cannoli that was light, flavorful, and had just exactly the right "crunch," this was an unforgettable meal. Service was a perfect balance of attention & non-intrusion. If not for a family wedding banquet, we'd have gone back the next night!
