The description of "energetic" regarding noise levels is interesting since it suggests that it is a good thing. It is not when the noise level is such that it is difficult to talk without raising one's voice. This restaurant would be helped by adding fabric, carpets, etc., something to absorb sound. It is too loud to enjoy a pleasant dinner table conversation. Perhaps, if you have little interest in actually speaking with your dining companions, then having it loud makes sense. Can't chat about much of anything when you can't hear. That may make sense for a bar scene, but not for dinner.

Food was good-excellent. I had arctic char which was prepared with the skin on was very good. Wait staff good-excellent; wine list a little sparse, but found a good red and white--heavy on New Zealand whites, which is good, but no New Zealand pinot noir, which is a shame because there are some interesting NZ pinots at reasonable prices. Balcony good for conversation; 1st floor good for people watching. We were on the second floor, which is good, but only coincidental because no one asked us where we would like to be.

We had ordered the grilled octopus for an appetizer, and were very disappointed. It was small, over cooked, and served on a non discript bed of vegetables. The two pasta main courses we ordered were good, but the coffee after dinner was very weak. I wouldn't call the noise level energetic; it was quite loud in the restaurant.
