Il Pescatore was founded in 1980 by three partners all of whom were of Tuscan origin. The original menu included classic Tuscan dishes, which are still on the menu today, such as Pasta della Casa, Veal Scallopine with mushrooms, and our signature Veal T-Bone with Rosemary (Lombata de Vitello al… Rosmarino).
With the explosion of the Italian food and wine scene in the 1980’s, the menu expanded to represent dishes from numerous regions of the Italian peninsula. Risotto con funghi (Piemonte), Cannelloni alla Romana (Roma), Eggplant Parmigiana (Sicilia), and Fresh Fish Picatta (Napoli) are but a few of the regional dishes on our menu.
Our menu has been continuously evolving, and this year we introduced our own homemade Gelato and Sorbet.
Il Pescatore has been proudly serving the community of Oakland for over 32 years at Jack London Square and we have been blessed with many loyal customers over the years.
