In reality it is a 15-20 minute drive for us as we are a couple of towns over, but it is worth the drive. Everything about this place is top notch, from the decor, to the mouth watering menu, to the notable wine list (I love the price grouping approach), to the attentive service. If it were closer, we would go even more. As the wife and I have kids, we choose our nights out very carefully. I have never been disappointed going here for our night out. Oh, and the bar looks very cool too. We are thinking of coming to the bar one night and just ordering pizzas (which are fantastic) and wine. Excellent all around.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAnniversaryWas out of town on business on both sides of our 28th wedding anniversary weekend. Chose Il Palio based on great menu and atmosphere. Neither disappointed and the Maitre de, when he heard it was our anniversary offered complimentary after dinner drinks. I know it was a small thing, but the peole there are consistently great and the food is worth the 40 minute drive from our house.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a quick trip to ItalyDining here is like a trip to Italy. While there are familiar dishes, the chef enhances the dish with fresh ingredients and perfect preparation. This can be seen in the exquisite presentation and in the flavorful combinations such as the olive confit served atop the swordfish,. We did not check the wine list because we had only a glass of prosecco.
The dining rooms are large but welcoming with the wood ceilings and frescoed walls. There are several large tables. When they are filled, the noise level is quite festive. Stellar dining experience!Had the pleasure of dining at Il Palio recently to celebrate my Dad's 65th birthday. Everything from the food (each course we had was better than the next), to the decor,to the ambiance, to the service was top notch. Particular kudos to the maitre'd, Adrian, and our waiter, Claudio who went above and beyond to ensure my dad's birthday was special; they even arranged for a surprise dessert with a candle without my prompting. The husband/wife chef/owners were also incredibly friendly and welcoming and even invited my parents back into the kitchen. All in all a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend Il Palio and looking forward to dining there again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPleased to say that we hadPleased to say that we had a wonderful time. The manager seated us with special care. That is my wife and two twin infants. The manager was very considerate and made us feel very welcome. We were concerned about creating a scene - with the infants of course. But, we were reassured not to worry.
The food was good and the ambience was nice too. However, we would return mainly for the kind service.

From the home made pastas, to the ever changing menu and outstanding specials. Restauaant is going thrus some renovations, so 1 of the 2 dining rooms was not available, so a little more crowded and noisy thant what we were used to, but the food and the service more than compensated.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMCan't wait to go back!We had an outstanding experience at Il Palio. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door and were warmly greeted, our seating preferences were honored, our waitress was attentive but not hovering. We were a group of 4, two of us had the swordfish special which was delicious, the other two had fish dishes that were excellent as well. Although it was a busy Saturday night we never felt rushed and we were able to linger over coffee.
