A word from Il Palio
Il Palio was named after the race held each summer in Siena, Italy. Created with a passion, the restaurant has been exquisitely designed and beautifully finished with materials from all over the world. No stone was left unturned and time was not a factor in finding exactly what was required to make the "vision" a reality. The atmosphere created is one of quiet comfort in surroundings reminiscent of an Italian villa. The friendly and courteous staff, the outstanding food, and the efficient service all contribute to the ambiance felt by those who visit the restaurant. Il Palio's fine Tuscan cuisine is a pleasing combination of the highest-quality ingredients and the caring preparation by chefs who take pride in the dishes they present. Like the race in Siena, Il Palio is creating lasting impressions.Continued

  • "Very good food, nice atmosphere, took my wife there for our anniversary had a fantastic time would definitely go back. My wife had New York steak and I had a salmon dish both were very very good"

  • "EVERYTHING that comes to the table is delicious. And the service is impeccable. After getting used to so-so service at other restaurants, couldn't say enough about the attentiveness here. Water glasses constantly refreshed, waitress checking back to make sure everything is going well and offering useful advice when ordering. Even just the simple cesaer salad that we shared was outstanding. We couldn't put out finger on just what was different about it, but it just seemed to melt in your mouth. My cavatelli with sausage was outstanding, my husband enjoyed the swordfish as well. Only wish we had room for dessert. Maybe next time!"

  • "Saturday night, 7pm reservation. Service very good, attentive without being pesty. Ordered swordfish entree and house salad. Probably the best swordfish entree I've ever had. My friends and I go out to eat often, and will travel for good food. Il Palio has never disappointed. Would and have recommended this place to others."

  • "Food is fresh and consistantly delicious. Love, love, love the dipping oil and bread. All courses were perfectly timed and served at the appropriate temperature. Service is great, not over the top annoying waiting to clear you plate or top of your water."

  • "The inside of the restaurant is warm and cozy with fireplaces in both dining rooms. The menu consists of wonderful homemade pastas and sauces, fresh seafood, chicken and steaks. We had the cheese and meat sampling appetizer, and it was a taste of Italy. Delicious parmesean and mozzarella cheeses, proscuitto and mortadella (among others). We had pasta as our main dish the last time we dined there. I had the fettuccine bolognese ( which was a special, but I wish it was always on the menu!) and my husband had the lasagna. Both were outstanding! It does get crowded, so make a reservation. My only complaint is that it can be noisy, but the food more than makes up for it!"

  • "That tonight's menu is not great. Too many chicken not enough meats. I really missed the lamb and seafoods which we had in past. Chef - try not to put too much on chicken stuffs into the steak such as chicken sauce. Ugh. So on."

  • "We came for dinner, and was seated to a table in the corner for two. Our reservations were for 6 PM, and we were seated right away. They were moving some tables to probably set up for a party, very discreetly nothing that bothered us. But at the end of our meal we were given free dessert and after dinner drinks because of the "disruption. Our server was outstanding the food was excellent would highly recommend!!! Definitely be back."

  • "My wife and I made a reservation, we were seated promptly however we immediately noticed the noise level in the dining room was almost unbearable, we could not carry on a conversation, I requested a different table in a different room but given it was Saturday night nothing was available. Once we settled in and a few tables emptied, the noise level seemed to subside and we had a wonderful dinner. Food and service was excellent."

  • "Shout out to Suzanne at the bar & to Colleen too for another terrific experience where you truly feel welcomed at Il Palio. Best food & cocktails in the area. The cavatelli, apple tart, & (I'm not gonna lie!) Sidecars make me VERY happy!"

  • "The welcoming at the door and the hosts were very nice, and extremely welcoming. Waitress introduced herself and talked us through the menu, and made some recommendations when we asked her. The food started off as wonderful and slowly deteriorated. Starters- delightful. Pasta - good if not salty. Main Course (steak and lobster at $50) - awful. Meat was tough and grissly, the lobster was not prepared well.I actually didnt finish the meal, but did ask to take it away(for the dog), but the support staff didn't bring it back, when asked he shrugged his shoulders and walked off. the same waiter who didnt bring us bread after 3 times of asking. I understand it was a busy night, and it hasnt put us off going again."

  • "This was our 2nd visit & it was as perfect as the first (New Years). All our food was delicious but I was very excited about their new Martini menu. It includes my fav cocktail- a perfect Remy Sidecar, sugared rim & all! Cannot wait to return!"

  • "Very good Italian cuisine, with locally grown ingredients. Our server Coleen was knowledgable, fast, and friendly. Our greeting at the door was welcoming. The dining room filled up quickly and the noise level was reasonable. The risotto was amazing as was the fettuccini with scallops. Most appetizers could be served as main courses, and vise versa. Overall a very pleasant dining experience."

  • "Decided to go here for my birthday this year. The food was wonderful starting with the little antipasto dish of chickpeas in a sauce to put on crostini brought to the table. Nice extra touch. My salad was amazing, mixed green salad with roasted butternut squash and sauteed mushrooms, unusual combination, delicious AND healthy at the same time! We both ordered the special pasta with delicious, little bits of plump shrimp. The host was very gracious and fun to talk to. Upon noting the open table comment that this was a special occasion, he offered to move us to a better table right in front of the fireplace and continued to check on us making sure everything was enjoyable. And the white lights outside added to the special occasion feel."

  • "I asked for a "quiet" table and we were given a lovely corner table - In my reservation notes I mentioned that we were celebrating my husband's birthday - they gave us a great server and brought over 2 glasses of champagne for us to toast to my husband's birthday - always yummy food - all in all - great service as well as superb food and service..."

  • "When you see that Il Palio is smack in the middle of a corporate park's parking lot, you may have misgivings. You can confidently cast them aside. The interior is surprisingly cozy, the service is polite and attentive, and the meals are creative and thoughtfully presented. The hand-cranked prosciutto slicer in the middle of the floor was a nice touch."

  • "We have eaten here before many times but this dinner was very disappointing. The beet salad with warm goat cheese was slices of caned beets with a slice of cold goat cheese right off the log. The pasta saltimbocca was spaghetti mixed with browned chopped meat and absolutely no sauce. Very disappointed in the food this time. We came with 8 friends on New Year's Eve and probably will not come back again."

  • "Il Palio is first rate. The food and service are excellent. We always have a good meal with a variety of options. We always are prepared that it is expensive but still have a little sticker shock every time we get the bill."

  • "Even they did over 300 covers on New Years eve, Il Palio still did not disappoint with service (Amanda, the BEST!) -- food (hot and cooked to perfection) and choices -- the Veal Chop was huge and awesome -- we love Il Palio and continue to call it one of our top restaurants to visit"

  • "This was our first time & won't be our last! I'm VERY picky about where we are seated; requested a quiet table & were offered several dif tables for our approval- loved our romantic table for 2 on 2nd floor overlooking the bar. Service (Colleen) & others were excellent! Food outstanding-fresh, to temperature, perfect portions: Salumi/cheese app with amazing hot rosemary pizza frite, veal chop, ricotta cavatelli w/sweet & hot sausage & broccoli rabe, pistachio creme brûlée & bread pudding. Perfect in every way!"

  • "The food (we both had the halibut special) was delicious and the kitchen showed creativity in presentation and flavor combinations. We were sharing an anniversary dinner and the atmosphere was both romantic and comfortable. Shortly after being seated and our orders were taken, our waiter "disappeared" and did not return. Service to our table from that point on was handled by several different members of the wait staff. Adequate, but not close to what would be considered good service. The food was too tasty to not give it one more try in the future."

  • "Wonderful presentation and preparation. It had been a while since we had been here, but we will be back very soon. We were just 2 for dinner on a Saturday night and instead of feeling that we were being pushed along to make room for a bigger group, we felt just as importtant as the table of 8 sittiing right next to us. Great job by everyone..."

I always give restaurants' that I here from work of mouth are good a second chance and I'm glad I did that. The food was on par with any Italian restaurant I've been to and the service was 5 star as well."

  • "Was on a weekend trip to New Haven...used Open Table..and found Il Palio...will DEFINITELY be back....the food was fantastic - truffled chicken marsala ravioli to die for...and pumpkin cheesecake for dessert....skipped an app and sorry i did! Wine list was fabulous..next time I have to go with someone else as the driver. The waitress was fabulous..well informed...very pleasant...did not rush us...beautifully decorated for the holiday season...and all of the staff was gracious and seemed genuinely interested in making sure every patron had a great dining experience. They succeed!"
