"Went for lunch since heard its much easier to get in and the service is more attentive which turned out to be absolutely true. There were only 3-4 tables occupied and we had a steady, evenly paced lunch. The food is abundant and very rich - probably several sticks of butter in the breadbasket alone. It is certainly worth going but for your health don't make it a habit."

"Il Mulino is one of the best restaurants we have dined at. Upon arriving, we were made to feel welcome and greeted by a friendly staff dressed formally in tuxedos and were promptly seated at a lovely table. We were treated to a basket of an assortment of breads, all of which were great, especially the hard seasoned bread. We also received a complimentary chunk of fresh Parmesan cheese scooped out of a giant piece of cheese and slices of Italian salami. The eggplant antipasto in the center of the table was delicious, especially with the bread. We selected a nice bottle of wine and totally enjoyed our entrees of salmon, chicken and veal. The Tiramasu was incredibly delicious and we were treated to "Italian" ginger ale, an after-dinner cordial"

"My third time at Il mulino!, my second at the NYC restaurant. This was my last time. My experiences has gone from good, to ok (Las Vegas) to bad (my latest Nyc experiance).The wait to get a reservation is as long as the wait for the salt to disapate from my system. Needless, to say the entrees were extremely salty. In addition when my wife and I ordered separate entrees we asked for extra plates to share. The waiter offered to bring them as separate courses, pasta followed by a meat course. I thought that would be a nice treat. However, when the bill came he charged us for two pasta courses and two entees. Bravo.....that was a smooth move. Arividerchi Il Mulino!"

"After visiting Italy multiple times, this is the most authentic Italian Restaurant in NYC. Claudio, the maitre'd, is a gem. The wait staff is superbly attentive. An absolute must for any foodie."

"The best Italian restaurant in the city. The only real original il Mulino with many of the original staff still working here. You can order what ever you want on or off the menu and they'll readily make it just the way you like it. Give your special requests and concerns to Claudio, Maitre, former head waiter and he will make it right. One warning, scared money doesn't belong in this restaurant."

"Il Mulino serves tasty old-style Italian cuisine. But the dishes aren't particularly creative, and the staff pushes hard to get you to spend more money that you want to. Menu prices are high, but the prices of off-the-menu specials are 25% to 50% higher. Worse, when you ask the price of a special, the captain doesn't know the answer and makes no effort to find out. Il Mulino is pretentious, unadventurous, and dripping with an attitude that if you have to ask the price of anything, you don't belong there."
