We had been to this restaurant many years ago and did not like it at all. We were convinced by our friends to give it another try and boy are we glad we did. Everything was top notch. The service was good and the food was even better. My husband had the Chilean sea bass, I had the rack of lamb and our friends had the salmon. We were all pleased with our dinners and with the portion size. The ambience was so improved from when we were there last. We had dinner outside on the porch and it was truly a pleasing experience. Although a little pricey, you will enjoy Il Michelangelo.

We were a table of 4 and there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant. It took one hour for our appetizers to arrive, and then another 30 minutes for the entrees. Then to top it all off, after we finally got our check (the other table was already gone at this point, so we were the only people in the restaurant) the waiter was nowhere to be found for over 10 minutes. I had to get up and try to find someone to close out our check. The bottom line was that the food was good but not worth the money. We won't be coming back.

My friend and I wanted to meet somewhere in the "middle " of where we both live. I more or less took a chance on this restaurant and wow! First surprise. I knew the owner!! Decor is charming. Feels a lot like Southern Italy and outside feels like Tuscany. Food was just perfect. Will absolutely go again. Great job Dominick!

We had not been here for a while but found the food was just as good as before! The food really was full of flavor. I tried a new (for me) wine made from grapes originally grown in Ancient Greece and now grown in Italy. It was wonderful and I'm not one who likes to stray from my reliable Pinot Grigio! Would definitely recommend!

It was our first try, party of 7 , and overall we had very few complaints. the food was good, the wine was good, and the pace was great. The only thing we realized is half way through dinner, we were all boiling hot. we didn't bother to ask for relief i.e adjust thermostat. I would return. Owner, Dominic, was very pleasant and spoke with us for some time, but at least had courtesy to wait till we were done eating.

Despite being an hour late (Storms in NJ, and GPS went out), our family claimed our table and enjoyed delicious appetizers until we joined them for a lovely dinner with wine (various seafood dishes and a nice chardonnay). We started late, so they let us stay late as they could tell we were celebrating family events. It made the storm outside disappear as we enjoyed a rare family meal together! This was the third time we celebrated here, and will not be the last at this welcoming restaurant with lovely food and a good wine selection!

It was dinner with my husband, dad and two very close friends. We had a wonderful evening. Never were we rushed, there for almost 3 and 1/2 hours. Wine list was great as well as the food. The restaurant is like a comfortable quaint living room. The owner and staff made sure everything went perfectly well. I highly recommend this restaurant for a relaxing, warm experience.

Great place for dinner. Relaxed experience, nice ambiance, affordable wine choices (I did not recognize many of the selections but they helped me pick and I was presently surprised how good it was), attentive service and nice menu selection. We ordered an appetizer off the specials menu, it was very good. My wife ordered the wrong salad by mistake and when she realized it they quickly, and with no questions asked, replaced it for her. Our main courses were off the regular menu, both were very good. We definitely are going back.

The food is incredible.. the service however, is not. I had an empty wine glass on my table from the time time I took my first bite of my entree until we finally flagged down a server (not even our server) to wrap our leftovers and get a few dessert menus. By this time, I had forgone the 2nd glass of wine I would have ordered and opted instead to have an after dinner drink with desert.. once the dessert was dropped by a food runner, it took quite a while again to get our server's attention so we could pay the tab. The restaurant was by NO means busy, mind you. This was just poor customer service at its finest.. Is the great food worth the poor service? Nope... But I would definitely recommend ordering out from here!

We can always count on a delicous meal and welcoming service at Michelangelos. It's an excellent choice for any occasion with a great selection of entrees and Dominic's personal attention to every detail of your dinner or event. We've hosted more than 5 large and small events there over the years from birthdays to communions with excellent results every time. We are treated like one of the family and feel very comfortable dropping into the beautiful dining room at any time and they are more than happy to accommodate us. The Sunday family dinner is excellent too--and, being Italian, we're particular about our pasta. They make it al dente and the meatballs are authentic. The special wine paring meals are to die for--they're more than a taste!

The restaurant is located in a neighborhood of Boonton and is a nice place. The food was average but as a couple near Mntclair doesn't make sense to travel out to Boonton. Food was good and salad and artichoke were excellent main dishes were good but not great. The actual menu is limited for an Italian rest and some of the itms we saw online were not on the actual menu. Menu had just changed :). Why would they take Seafood salad and Tiramisu off the menu One odd item is all the pictures in the entrance of some key stars like Michael Jackson and other actors but the place doesn't resemble a place that stars would go Anyway, a nice place just not worth traveling to given the hundreds of realy good Italian restaurants much closer to us.

The food was mostly wonderful. I ordered a pork chop and the sauce was sublime! The rest of the experience was not at this level. My husband and I were disappointed. We chose this restaurant because it has a fireplace and requested to sit so that we could see it. Upon arriving, we were informed that the fireplace is upstairs and that that section was closed. I had a rather involved discussion with the waiter about the choice of vegetables and I told him that I do not like broccoli and he suggested another braised vegetable instead. He brought the broccoli out anyway and seemed to think that he was doing me a favor by bringing me what I had ordered in the first place. The décor is sweet but, overall, the experience left a lot to be desired.
