  • "So much fun, is the best way to describe this locally owned gem. And the food's pretty good as well. The owners are always in the restaurant and are actively involved in the dining experience. This is evident in the quality of the food and the service. You have to try this spot..."

  • "This was our first time to visit Il Localino. We were celebrating my daughter's birthday with 3 generations of our family. Giovanni and his staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and to make my daughter feel special. Not only was the good terrific (we are an Italian family, and we know Italian food) but we had a great time with lots of laughs. Many thanks to Giovanni and his staff."

  • "We live in the neighborhood but had not been here. It is great fun! The food is delicious and you are made to feel like you are family! Giovanni is quite a character, bringing us after dinner drinks and parmesan on the house! Very romantic spot!"

  • "What a neighborhood gem in the Poncey-Highlands / L5P area. I had the beef medallions and my wife had the Chicken Piccata. Both were fantastic! I was especially impressed with the beef. As for service, you won't find a more attentive and friendly staff. We had a wonderful evening and it made for a special night out for my wife and I."

  • "Not sure why. It was disco night there but the flashing strobe light was very annoying as I was trying to read the menu. Not a good night for a quiet meal. Service was good and the tiramisu the best!"

  • "Friendly neighborhood cafe with fun atmosphere and excellent food. The patrons visit with each other and there is always a fun party atmosphere. Great little place."

  • "Last night we had a multi course dinner of chef's specials that was spectacular! From the Parmigiana and olives to the sausage and pepper appetizer, then the arugula burrata salad, lemon sorbet intermezzo, grouper francese, broccoli rabe and tiramisu ...all delicious. As wonderful as the food was, I must say that the service was equally impressive. In all, an outstanding evenin."

  • "Way too expensive for what we got. Mussels were terrible and we don't like to complain. Had a better experience at Provino's by the mall, a chain Italian restaurant. Go there instead and save $100."

  • "Open Table reviews are always positive for this restaurant, but others on line, like Yelp, are not. Good location. Food is not up to par with other options in town. The food is really mediocre. Olive Garden comes to mind....penne with vodka sauce ($22) was like Ragu with milk added. Service is all over the place. Beware, there is a one entree per person minimum. (odd-- it is not like the place is overrun with diners) We were offered olives and Parmesan, I declined, $13 for 10 olives, one piece of romaine and some dried out cheese appeared on the bill. This is not mentioned anywhere on the menu. Very good Limoncello. This is really a restaurant for drinkers. Aha!!! the entree minimum! $145 not well spent."

  • "I had read some not-so-favorable reviews about IL Localino but we decided to try it anyway I am so glad we did! The atmosphere was very up beat and fun. The service was incredible since you get served by just about all of the servers at one time it another throughout the meal. The food was amazing. They definitely don't get crazy with portion size but that's what made it even more enjoyable. We had the baked clams appetizer and the owner of the restaurant actually brought the frying pan to the table so we could dip our bread! It was incredible! By the time we got to dessert we were pretty full but still managed to have a little bit. Just like the meal, the dessert was excellent."

  • "We went to Il Localino based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. The food was good and authentic, maybe not amazing for a foodie, but amazing for an Italian lover. The scenery is a bit of a spectacle, and there is a ton to look at in the restaurant. The sweet family that owns the restaurant is very attentive, and it feels really nice to support a family restaurant. We finished our meal to learn that someone in the restaurant had paid our tab, which was the sweetest and perfect end to our meal. Recommend for those who love Italian food!"

  • "I had the Dungeness Crab appetizer followed by lovely Intermezzo and Lobster Fra Diavolo. On a scale of 1-5 this dinner would come in at a 6 at the least. Absolutely delicious, with great service ... will definitely return!"

  • "I usually get veal scaloppini ... and everything else... I leave all of the rest to the owner. His choices of wine have been wonderful! You get an experience not just a good meal. This is a very laid back place.... nothing stuffy about it."

  • "My husband and I love to visit El Localino, we have always had excellent service and the staff makes you feel special. Lovely table settings with cloth linens and large wine glasses. Great place to bring out of town guest for an interesting evening. The decor reminds me of classic restaurants in New York, Mass and Rhode Island, very unusual but intimate at the same time. The "early" music will consist of the greats: Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and than............. back onto the 80's! It is such a fun atmosphere. The food is very good but pricy for the portions (especially the pasta's, but when we leave we always have a smile on our face and full tummies..............is that not what sitting down at a table is all about!"

  • "The food was good but the dishes were $25+ for a standard linguine with marinara sauce. The owners/chefs were very friendly but they came by our table several times and cut jokes. They played very loud music, almost like a club. On a date, it would probably be a little too loud. There were so many interruptions and they forgot part of my order."

  • "From the moment you walk in the door you are treated like a guest in the home of the restaurant owners. That warm feeling spills over into loving the food that you are served. Your taste buds explode with every bite of food. We ordered from the specials of that particular night and each one of the appetizers and main dishes will be dancing on our tongues for months to come. This restaurant is a very special experience and well worth going back to many times."

  • "What a find! This restaurant has been around for 14 years and I must have driven by it dozens of times. It's small and the signage is almost impossible to see, but what a wonderful place. It's busy and noisy in a good way. The tables are very close together and the decor is a hodge podge. It makes you think of a wonderful little New York neighborhood Italian restaurant. The service is great, Giovanni, the owner, walks around and talks to everyone and is very charming. You can tell their are many regulars who know the staff. The food was excellent, the wine list more than adequate - but the personality of the place is what will bring us back."

  • "My husband and I went to il Localino's for valentine's day. It was the best experience. The staff goes all out to create a fun yet romantic feel. There were ballons everywhere, roses on the table, and fun music. The food is so great! We did not eat the fixed menu although it sounded very appetizing! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Italian food in a great atmosphere!"

  • "We loved everything about the Valentine's Day dinner at this charming restaurant. There were beautiful balloons everywhere you looked, mixed with real old world charm. The food was incredible from the presentation to the flavors. Loved the music ... It all worked for us and I'm sure we will be back there soon!"

  • "I feel like I am "home in NY" at Il Localino. Solid, authentic Italian food in a familiar, comfortable and fun atmosphere. You will feel welcomed and valued as a customer here."

  • "Had been a fan for a long time. Maybe because it was Valentine's day, the wheels came off the bus. Appetizer musssels were plentiful , but did not appear fresh nor plump, more like dried out. Ordered the Cioppino, $36, it contained three supposed lobster tails, from which collectively you could get a teaspoon of meat, more disappointing mussels, some clams, shrimp, and fish fillet. Side of pasta, added $8.50. My wife's dish, pasta with shrimp and broccoli was OK. Decided not to do dessert after that. Could be a while before I venture back."

  • "I took my wife out for the second year in a row to Il Localino on Valentine's Day. They do not disappoint! The food was excellent and each course was a delight. The truffle sauces made them especially tasty! The only downside was the wine pairing. My wife elected to go that way and found it very uninspired. This is disappointing when she knows they have great wines. Nonetheless it was great! They decorated very nicely, welcomed us like family and gave my wife roses and cake pops to take home with her. Weplan to do it again next year!!"

  • "Service is terrific, highlighted by the old-school Italian owner. Atmosphere and decor is authentic, homey Italian. Felt like I was in NYC's Little Italy. Unfortunately, the food was OK. Calamari was bland, salad had way too much olive oil, the entree was OK, and the dessert was so small it was insulting. The best part of the meal was the homemade pasta - it was excellent. I'd recommend it as a place to go once and experience. But I don't plan on returning anytime soon"

  • "We have lived in Atlanta for over 20 years. I have no idea how we have missed this restaurant! Not knowing anything, I made reservations here because of timeframe we needed for dinner and availability on Open Table. After making reservations, I read some of the reviews. I almost cancelled due to some of them. SO GLAD I didn't! It was awesome! Food was delicious, such a fun atmosphere, and staff could not have been better. Fun, fun place!! If I had one small criticism, I would say it is a little pricey. But we had such a great night, we didn't even notice!!"

  • "Chaotic! I would not recommend this restaurant at all! Italian food was not as good as Olive Garden at three times the price! Aggressive service, if they showed up at your table at all. All tried to put party hats on guests! How many heads have these hats been on?! Disco music was much too loud and seemed out of place. Only redeeming touch was vase of roses on the table that the wait person took away. So much for ambience! Valet parking was also frenetic. Not again!"
