Lori, our attentive wait person was on the spot and very cordial. We never felt rushed
or intimidated. Food was great - especially the fresh bread...not to mention the incredible

We were greeted upon entering by the chef/owner and the manager, both of whom have gotten to know us. We were then seated at the table with the green tablecloth. All around us were the usual white ones but this is the special chef's guest table. Besides the great food we ordered from both the regional and regular menus, we were treated to a marvelous caprese salad and a great flourless chocolate cake. We had a lovely Barbera with our dinner and all in all it was a special evening. My previous experience at Il Fornaio was no where near as good as it was this time, but I had only been there for lunch. We sat at a round table with six people which was great because we could talk across to anyone. It was very noisy and it was close to other tables but once I sat down I didn't notice other tables. The noise was mostly restaurant chatter and not plate clatter which I hate. We 4 ordered expensive entres, 2 midrange, 4 appetizers, four cocktails between us, and one bottle of wine, no dessert. The bill came to $330 including tip. Entres were 2 salmon specials, 2 veal scallopine, 1 ravioli, 1 pizza. Made reservations for Friday night on Thursday. The entrees are always good, but the dessert cart is breathtaking. I never tire of the affogato's espresso poured over vanilla gelato and my lovely wife adores the zabaione with its fresh berries and sorbet. Glad it's in our neighborhood. Gluten-Free? Yes!We have been going there for years and have recently been avoiding it due to the wheat products. When I was searching online for gluten free restaurants, I was surprised to see that there was a gluten-free menu. If not for the website, I would have never thought we would be able to enjoy your restaurant again. Thanks for the gluten-free pasta. The gluten-free pasta was good not over cooked and mushy like some gluten-free pastas that I have experienced. The restaurant was very busy on a Tuesday night. We sat at one of the side rooms. Calamari fritto was excellent - light, crunchy coating and tender calamari. The three of us enjoyed a delicious cannelloni, rigatoni with spicy sausage with a creamy tomato sauce, and the pasta with seafood, also with a tomato sauce. Service was attentive and unobtrusive.
