The greeters were friendly when approached but appeared flustered when I arrived, as if they forgot our table. No eye contact for almost 10 minutes, while later parties were promptly seated. I had to approach again, and still we waited before seating. Overflow & large group tables were in awkward locations for wait staff and customers to access. Our waiter was superb! The food was very good! Finding a meal for my normally adventurous 9 year-old off of the limited breakfast menu would have been challenging if not for the lone waffle option. Phenomenal Northern Italian food that features different regions every month. The service is absolutely spot on, with everyone highly familiar with their food and preparation. Very nice wine list and a great patio that is wonderful in the evenings, and they don't crowd the tables, so it is very private. It had a vinegarette dressing that was very good but not over powering. Attentive service without being disruptive. The atmosphere is great for a nice quiet romantic date. The service there is always excellent. The food is always perfect. The noise level is low so very easy to have conversations with your date.

The accompanying salad was plentiful and tasty. The french fries were the weakest part of the meal...actually luke warm...

Although it is not on the menu at Il Fornaio, the chef very kindly prepared it for us. The staff is helpful and lovely. Even made sure my cab was there on time to take me back to airport. Kitchen needs to pay a little more attention as I asked specifically for no raisins in my couscous and it arrived with them and had to be remade. Unfortunate when you are dining with a client.
