  • "Consistently good food. Our waitress was very nice and efficient, We were all happy with our meals and service."
    Dined on 4/14/2014
  • "On the regional menu, each choice of course should have a vegetarian or vegan dish available."

  • "We love Il Fornio for lunch for the office and for meetings with friends. The food is fresh and tasty and the service is friendly and professional. Thanks for feeding us!"
    Dined on 4/8/2014
  • "The Italian menu varies frequently and is often unique. Service is by teams and while efficient is impersonal."
    Dined on 4/8/2014
  • "We are getting old. Noisy, clanking, "in" spots are more than we can stand! We asked for a quiet table, and got one facing the orchid store. Perfect. The food is Always reliably good, and this visit into the quiet zone was great."

  • "I scheduled a reservation with open table for Il Fornaio Corte Madera for my mom's birthday dinner celebration. I requested a booth in the center of the restaurant and noted it was her birthday. We got a nice booth and the service was very attentive. Our waiter answered any questions we had an was very accommodating. They brought a wonderfully delicious tiramisu for dessert for her birthday!"

  • "ironically this furnace us a great place for GF options with a separate menu. The tuna (seared ahi) on arugula was perfect!"

  • "Great place for lunch. I had salmon on top of spinach. Yum!"
    Dined on 3/31/2014
  • "food has been much better at previous occasions. This time salad had no flavor, wild boar (tasty) meatballs w/mushrooms and polenta (bland) was lukewarm. Service was poor; waiter was 'nice' but left us waiting for very long periods of time.... I will try again in the future, but not in a rush to do so...."
    Dined on 3/31/2014
  • "The absolutely worse pasta dish I have ever been served in a restaurant. It tasted like dry noodles mixed with sautéed mushrooms. Zero moisture or flavor."
    Dined on 3/31/2014
  • "I had Veal Scallopini with Artichokes. My dish was quite salty, and veal and artichokes - for me anyway - are not a happy marriage. Veal with mushrooms is much better, because I know that works. My wife loved her dinner of shrimp and ahi on skewers, and my son also loved his dish of tagliatelle and sea food, so most of us were very pleased. The salads were excellent and the bread fresh and crispy. Would IL Fornaio consider adding a plain Zabaglione dessert with fruits on the side? Fruits do not necessarily improve Zabaglione; they just make it taste different. Our dining experience was very nice, but it could have been improved. Thanks for your attention."

  • "Both the food and service fell short of expectations. They did not appear to have adequate waitstaff for a busy night."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "We were seated at the precise time of our reservation. The wait staff was attentive without hovering and gave us plenty time to make our selections."
    Dined on 3/27/2014
  • "We went for early pre-theater dinner and were seated in outdoor, covered area near fireplace. Service was prompt, professional and their great home baked breads and virgin olive oil w. balsamic vinegar soon arrived. They have a nice home crafted cocktail list, wine prices a bit high. Salads were very generous, easily shared and Caesar had a great dressing (no anchovy pieces, however), mixed beets was just as good. Where they shine is their rotisserie items and pastas. Try the penne with vodka, light cream tomato sauce or slightly spicy Italian sausage filling or rotisserie duck, chicken! Again portions are ample and meat, fish dishes are take home size. Then finish off with a spumone, tiramisu. P.S. they have a nice vegan minestrone!"

  • "Well prepared, fresh high-quality ingredients. Service is always great. Best Cosmo. Try the dessert sampler."
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Service was attentive but not overly solicitous; Lamb shank was tender, falls off the bone; calamari appetizer done just right- crispy breading, tasty tenticles. We added an additional guest as a late arrival and staff was very accomodating in seating her."
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "They don't seem to give reservations a priority. We showed up early/on time and our table wasn't ready at 6pm on a Sunday night. We had reservations for 8ppl and they didn't quite know how to handle that many. Our table wasn't set with the right amount of place settings, no soup spoon came with the soup. Water was requested multiple times before it arrived. The manager tried to help when we complained but they didn't seem to want us there. Waiter was obviously stressed and couldn't speak English well enough. I didn't agree with the tip we left but my companions felt strongly that it was enough. There needs to be a vegan option for the secondi course."

  • "Undercooked pasta, unattentive service, glassware smells like detergent. Subpar on every level."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "Always terrific and loved by all who come-- a sure winner!"
    Dined on 3/5/2014
  • "The 1st two weeks of each month feature a special menu from a different part of Italy. These menus are always a special treat and this month the dessert was to die for while the lamb shank was also awesome as was the zuppa fagioli."

  • "Our party of 5 went to early dinner at the Corte Madera location. We sat in their covered area which is essentially outdoors with gas heaters. We spent the night either being cold or burned. I won't fault the restaurant too much on this, however the service was atrocious. We waited almost an hour for our food to arrive and when it did, the spinach was actually refrigerator cold. Further the chicken dish I ordered was heavily over-seasoned. This was a special event for us and it was undermined by a very poor dinner experience. If you go there, don't expect too much."

  • "I can always count in a great meal at Il Fornaio. This visit was no exception. The regional menu has so many tempting dishes it's hard to choose. We had the braciolette....delicious!"
    Dined on 3/3/2014
  • "The food and service were good. However, when we had dinner on a Saturday night, it was very crowded. The tables are close together, and there was the constant traffic of wait staff and customers. Thus, can not recommend it for a romantic evening or a even a relaxing meal."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "We sit on the bar, we don't recomend it at all, not good service. The food was greasy, pizza under-cooked, home made bread is OK. Overprice."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "Very appreciative of seating away from tables with children at dinner. This is a nice restaurant and it has some large tables that can be awful when seated with children."
    Dined on 3/2/2014
  • "Normally good food here, but chicken sandwich special didn't cut it. Meat kind of tough and no flavor. Another table had the same thing and complained too. They were nice enough to comp me a dessert when I complained though and it was good."
    Dined on 2/24/2014
  • "The food was full of flavor(s), nice and hot, great presentation! Service was also excellent. We will be back, thank you!"

  • "My family and I celebrated my son's 24th birthday at Il Fornio because we love this restaurant. We had not visited for a long time and the food was even better than we remembered. We had an amazing experience and we were all really happy with our different choices for meals."
    Dined on 2/19/2014
  • "The particulars are very good to excellent but I give this restaurant an "outstanding" because it is ALWAYS a lovely experience. The food is reliably delicious and the staff is consistently good at their jobs with a very nice but not obsequious manner. I never feel like I'm eating in a shopping center nor at a chain restaurant."

  • "Due to work scheduling we ended up celebrating Valentine's Day on the 17th. Food was delicious, service was great, and ambience was perfect. I always expect a pleasant meal at Il Fornaio. It's become our go to place for calm ambience and reliably good food. One small warning: Don't order the Trio del Casa (sample of 3 pastas) if you're expecting a meal. It was one ravioli, about 5 penne, and another ravioli. Three different sauces. They were delicious but for $18.99 the dinner was minuscule. On the good news side of that, I had plenty of room for dessert and their spumoni is sublime :-)"

  • "We have been to Il Fornaio in a few different cities. We always have a delicious meal and the service is always excellent. This is our go-to restaurant when hosting out-of-town visitors. We also like to celebrate special occasions here--anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's Day, etc."

  • "Our waiter was excellent-he responded to all our requests and never hurried us."

  • "One of our favorite restaurants. Always reliably very good with great service - especially on such a busy night!"
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Il Fornaio is reliable, and dinner was good, as usual. Nothing to rave about, but far from the usual faux-Italian slop one might be served elsewhere. One sour note: although it's a business that started as a very fine bakery, Il Fornaio has long ago foresaken baking its own breads and morning pastries, and outsources instead. Result: both the pastries and the breads are truly mediocre. I stress that the breads/pastries themselves are minor issues, but they represent a change that reflects a decline in the quality of the Il Fornaio brand."

  • "Even though this is a chain restaurant, the food, service and ambiance make it a gem. My wife and I have beaten here before and always enjoy our experiences. It is a special place for anyone interested in good food, attentive service, and an open and friendly environment."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "We love Il Fornaio in Corte Madera it's a neighborhood go to spot, but also fun for special occasions like New Year's or Valentine's because they add a little something extra. Il Fornaio is a chain, but we've found that most of its restaurants fit in to the surroundings like a family restaurant."

  • "Our server, near fireplace, was simply awesome. Bring in someone from back East, I was a little worried that on a Holiday service/food might be spotty. Never fear-it was a memorable evening! Great food, service and atmosphere. Thank you-"
