Il Cortile RistoranteAnniversary Trip to PasoMy wife and I ate here on a recommendation after an afternoon of wine-tasting. This was the perfect finish to a great day in Paso Robles. One of the best meals I've ever had. The food is incredible.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBurrata ObsessionIl Cortile is just a fabulous place to indulge in your Italian food passion. The food is farm fresh and richly authentic. I couldn't get enough Burrata. Go. Indulge. Manja6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMsets the bar in slo countyIl Cortile is arguably SLO County's top restaurant, doing a california style italian cuisine. Staff was warm, cordial and helpful. We went there for our anniversary and they made it special.
Do note, that this restaurant is not large, so reservations are a must. Expect to pay in the high $30s and much higher for a bottle of wine from a well-selected list. Secondi course daily specials are priced between $30 - 40. The recipes are distinctive and the food is and tastes fresh.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMA gem in Paso RoblesThis restaurant has an incredible menu. The food is imaginative, sophisticated, well-presented and deeelicious! I come here every time I am in Paso. It is a must if you are here.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMNot surprisedEveryone raved about this place and it was certainly NOT a disappointment!
Food was spectacular, the pork Oso buco is the best I have ever had and I am a decent cook. The wild boar with homemade pasta was also superb and the crostini with buffalo mozzarella is a must have.
We would return to paso robles for this restaurant alone.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyableEach dish was so different with wonderful flavores. Very lovely experience.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding FoodWe go out primarily to enjoy superb food and Il Cortile certainly hits the mark. Very interesting menu, wonderful service and the ability to order a "flight" of wines with your dinner (3 different wines) is very welcome. The seared scallops starter was marvelous. The Crostini con burrata with carmelized fennel was something of a disappointment - I love fennel and couldn't taste it and the serving was double what I would normally eat. I was really torn between ordering the veal chop with porcini mushroom sauce and the special of sea bass on a vegetable risotto. I went with the sea bass and got to taste my husband's veal chop. Both were outstanding. I had no room for dessert but my husband liked his Lemon Tort.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMIl Cortile - A trip to Italywe started with the squash blossom special appetizer and a mixed green salad. Sharing both dishes, we quickly found the two went well together. The delicate squash blossom recipe was the highlight. we had the wild boar ragu and the Spaghetti a bottarga. The wild boar ragu was rich and showcased the large boar chunks, which were very hearty and full flavored.this dish was our favorite. The Spaghetti a Bottarga had a light olive oil sauce and the bottarga added a significant saltiness, almost too much. The clams in the dish were plentiful. We paired our entrees with an Italian wine flight and a local Cal/Ital wine flight. The Vietti Barbera was the highlight of the Italian flight and Venteux Nebbiolo was the best of the Cal/Ital flight.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious and quaint !!The food was absolutely to die for! My husband said that's one if the best meals he's ever had in a restaurant. Everything we ordered from appetizers to our meals to the tiramisu was delicious. We would definitely go back when we're in town again!!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! This place, even though very small inside and tables being a little too close, served incredible food! I would go back and recommend it to friends in a heartbeat. Thank you.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMMemorable Memorial Day weekendA group of us were up in Paso for our annual trip and had dinner here and had the most fabulous time. The food was fabulous and our waiter Eric helped us out with everything we asked for. We could not have asked for anything else!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe're hookedThe chef cooked my ling cod to perfection and all the fresh flavors were as outstanding as the service.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful findEverything we tried was delightful! The octopus appetizer was only one of the highlights of our meal. The quail and the Oso bucco were also outstanding.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome! The food and the service are AMAZING!!! The truffle truffle truffle with fresh pasta (and also as a risotto) is one of the greatest dishes I have ever had in any Italian restaurant, including in Italy. They had a lobster special that was also outstanding. The service staff are attentive and very helpful. The owner was also very nice and when we had to wait for a table she offered us a glass of Prosecco. I recommend this restaurant highly! So delicious was the food that we ate here two nights in a row.5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Paso's bestThis was our second visit, definitely not our last. The service is top notch. But the food is the main attraction. The seafood stew starter was a knockout. The Chef's signature dish--pork Oso bucco with risotto--was memorable enough that my husband had it on both of our visits. The seafood risotto was also outstanding-- delicate flavors that complement the seafood. If calamari is not cooked correctly, it turns into rubber, but the seafood was cooked to tender perfection. Reservations are a must as this place is obviously thriving. By 7:15 on an ordinary Tuesday night in May, all tables were full. It's on the pricey side for locals, but a good choice for special occasions.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a great experienceThis was our second time at this restaurant. My boyfriend and I both ordered the veal chop cooked medium (but was medium rare) and perfectly! It was a very large portion and the roasted sweet potatoes were an excellent combination. We were disappointed with the special appetizer - zucchini blossoms with ricotta cheese were too salty and the blossoms did not have much flavor. But, overall, was a great meal!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat service/ will go again!I arrived early for my dinner and was fine with waiting at the bar (had a great talk with the bartender) but they seated me early which was great. I was dining alone and they put me at a corner table which was cosy and where I could observe the dining room. I had two apppetizers and a pasta, all of which were excellent. My server was attentive and always available. I had the pear tarte for dessert and the special Moscato which was excellent!5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGREAT NEW FIND!Me and 3 of my friends were in town for the wine festival. We've been coming to the festival for the past 8 years and were looking for a new Italian restaurant. We totally lucked out! The food was absolutely to die for! Will definitely be back! AMAZING!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA Must VisitFrom the Italian wine flight to the Parma prosciutto to a sublime Osso Buco,Il Cortile is a gem for an Italian bistro. I dined here with colleagues on my first visit to Paso Robles 4 months ago and vowed to return. On this second visit, I brought a larger group, all excited over my review of the restaurant. As was the case during my first visit, the entire evening was superb. The service, food, wine, and desserts were all top shelf, perfectly prepared, elegantly presented, and absolutely delicious. I will return there on my next visit and try out Carol's new venture when that opens soon.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMA Must!Could not have been a better experience. Dined with a group of 8 friends, all commented on what a fantistic experience it was. We will definately retutrn when next in town.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDinner in Paso RoblesIl Cortile was recommended so we gave it a try. We didn't hear a price when we ordered their fettucini with truffles (our mistake, I guess) but thought $40 was exhorbitant even with a few shavings of black truffle. The Carpaccio (raw beef) was WONDERFUL! My only complaint was, even though everything tasted good, all the sauces were kinda creamy and pink in different variations so it all sort of blended into each other -- not really distinct.5/6/2013 12:00:00 AMClass all the wayThis place could be in any city in the country serving the finest in Italian cuisine. The freshest farm to table ingredients put together in the most creative ways. You can't go wrong with any dish here but be sure to try the carpaccio and save some room for the lightest tiramisu you'll ever have the pleasure to end a fine meal with.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMTrufflesThe word says it all. The meat was cooked perfectly and the fettuccine with shaved truffles was one of the most delicious dishes I have ever had. The service was excellent as well, both pleasant and informed.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMStill Stands Out as Best of PasoIl Cortile is still the best of many really good restaurants in Paso Robles.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AM9.9we were 2 couples. perfection for me but my dinner companion's salmon was dry, which ruined it for him. otherwise a 10. i adore your restaurant, we're from east bay, hubbie and i come down every few months for pleasure.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was a wonderful experience. It was a wonderful experience. We had the special beef carpaccio with a cream sauce and shaved black truffles; the mozarella burrata on top of carmalized fennel with a crostini; and we pairedit with the dry Prosecco. For our Primi course, we had the rabbit fettucini with a tomato cream sauce and the Secondi we had the Oso Bucco. We paired the Primi and Secondi courses with a Montelpuciano d'Bruzzo, a rustic inexpensive wine -- to top off the night, we had the blood orange sorbet. We were there for 2.5 hrs on a Saturday night. We shared plates. Our waiter Ivan was wonderful. It was an expensive night - but we were planning on it. Reminded us of the restaurants we visited when we were in Italy!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile visiting Paso we triedWhile visiting Paso we tried this restaurant for the fist time, and all we can say is WOW! The food was amazing, some of the best had anywhere in the world and the service was just Top Notch. Our waitress, Capri could not have been any better, a true gem, she made the experience even better. It was a very busy night and the food was still tremendous. Do try the fennel crustini! My lamb was excellent and my husband is still talking about his Sea Bass, and that is very unusual for him.
Great gem of a place. Cannot wait tll next trip to go again.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything about Il CortileEverything about Il Cortile was perfect. The food, waitstaff, ambiance, couldn't have asked for more.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had another amazing mealWe had another amazing meal at Il Cortile! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and they did not disappoint! The pork oso bucco is over the top and the wild boar ragu is just as delicious as ever. This is our favorite Italian restaurant in the county!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal. So enjoyed theGreat meal. So enjoyed the sea bass and veal chop. See you next trip.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was fantastic andThis place was fantastic and came highly recommended by folks in town and the owners of the B&B we stayed at. We started with the grilled octopus and had the prosciutto burrata. Both were amazing. The main dishes were equally tasty. The only item I would call out is there is a wall lined with two top tables. We were seated directly next to another two top and didn't have a lot of room and could hear their entire conversation. If you are looking for something a bit more private and roomy - request a 4 top table along the opposite wall.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGood Paso Restaurant FindWe enjoyed our food very much. My husband ordered the lobster, which was delicious and a treat. I ordered green pepper corn filet - very good. We ordered a special pasta appetizer which was so good - home made pasta makes all the difference. We will be going back!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous FoodThe chef owner sent us a Tiramusu for dessert...the BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The homemade pasta and ALL entrees we had were Great!4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. WeGreat food and service. We were a party of four and each ordered something different on the menu. Everyone loved their appetizer and entree. Nice wine list from all the Paso Robles wineries. Wonderful evening. We will be back next time we are in Paso Robles!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThird visit and each one isThird visit and each one is better than the last. As good as any restaurant in L.A., better even since they don't have the attitude. The fairly priced wine list is a real plus.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMNot to be missed! After a grueling day of wine tasting, 6 friends had dinner at Il Cortile Ristorante and we had a fabulous dinner. Two of the diners said it was the best meal they had ever eaten. Everything was presented to perfection and the service was excellent. Our party had excellent meat, seafood and pasta dishes. We sat outside and it was very windy, but the staff handled it well and secured the roof overhead when it started to blow in the wind. The elegant inside restaurant seemed noisy, so we were glad to be outside where we could converse. A truly wonderful meal was had by all of our party and each of us will definitely return to Il Cortile when in Paso Robles.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was the second time weThis was the second time we have dined here. The presentation of the food is wonderful but the tastes are heaven. The service is just right.. They are knowledgeable of the wines and dishes. Making suggestion on pairings. Attentive to your need but not intrusive( i.e. they don't ask you how it's going when you have food in your mouth).
We had the specials, 2lb lobster-best lobster ever! My husband had the lamb chop that just fell off the bone. The carpaccio truffle appetizer -yummmmm!
Highly recommend giving it a try, you won't be disappointed.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time here and the experienceFirst time here and the experience was excellent. Relaxing and informal ambiance but really great service, food, wine. Highly recommend Il Cortile!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWIshed we lived in PasoEven thought Il Cortile is 4.5 hrs from home, this was a third visit in 12 months. Definitely a destination restaurant, and it's many horus less than traveling to Italy. We put together our own 'tasting menu' of 6 courses, splitting everything. The kitchen and server were excellent in timing/spacing and often splitting the courses. Must haves are the grilled octopus, poached egg in a fontina fonduta with shaved black truffles, prosciutto with burrata with a drizzle of truffle balsamic and chiffonade of fresh basil. There was a special of pork shank osso buco that must have been braised four many hours-delish! Desserts are also most excellent. Being in Paso Robles they have an excellent local wine list with some stunning Gajas.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous food and serviceFabulous food and service . This restaurant came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. A + and definitely worth the drive up from Los Angeles.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMHad the Chef Special Oso BucoHad the Chef Special Oso Buco with k volk Pinot - it was absolutely fantastic. I recommend it and when visiting. Wineries on the area anyone who had it shared how good it was for them also.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food, high-end butExcellent food, high-end but worth going to. The dining area is a little loud at times and is not large, but this is one of our favorite Paso restaurants.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!Wow, just wow! This place is amazing from the time you walk in and are greeted by the hostess (and sometimes even the very benevolent manager) to when you get up completely satisfied with your meal and overal experience this place is amazing! Two thumbs up, you cannot go wrong with this place!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMAn evening in Paso RoblesWe were visiting Paso Robles and after spending the day touring the vineyards we had a lovely dinner at Il Cortile. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was a delightful preparation of contemporary Italian food; my truffle risotto was exceptional.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AM“Homemade pasta and great service”3 in our party had the pasta with wild boar. We wanted to try something different. Really delicious. Wine selection was extensive and the server was knowable. Tip: corkage fees $20, but if you buy a bottle they wave the fee to open yours!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place never disappoints. This place never disappoints.
